Im disappointed because I wanted to see Charlotte at EDC but I had to sell my bracelet for sunday night. Sounds like Charlotte will make her Los Angeles debut in November 2018 some time.
@Bryan Drysdale In the time since I asked that question I discovered Charlotte de Witte - This and I believe it's the one I was asking about: ruclips.net/video/LlBQ0btmhdg/видео.html
A friend offered to take me to edc this year but it’s not really my scene, watching some videos and found out there’s a stage for techno so I’m like ok maybe my techno snob ass could enjoy this part of edc 🤷🏼♂️.... then I heard the fan clack and nope 👎🏻😂
Not to be a European techno elitist but it's very noticeable that this music genre (techno) is still in its infancy in the USA. There is just a huge overall difference in crowd, music (tracks played) and stage between European and USA parties. CDW clearly plays a downtuned set for the USA and the crowd is still standing still like they've seen water in the dessert. Of course this stands to reason since no one in the USA ever knew what real techno was before 2016 (Detroit, Chicago, NYC and Miami excluded). You simply can't compensate for the differences in culture that existed over 25 years ago.
The undergrounds vibes are far more better than the festival vibes. Keep in mind this is at 530 in the morning where majority of us are burnt out by then. Then again its Vegas where the weather is also a factor. At the end of the day, Elitist or not, Im glad there are different rave cultures rather than being the same. Thanks for commenting.
@@XxXNyMpHoXxX I understand but with earlier sets in the PM/AM it looks exactly the same. Not hating, just observing. I think it's completely normal that this difference is there. You can't compensate for the lack of this music in your culture, up to this date. Of course there were some underground pioneers and truly good DJ's back in the days (Chicago house, Detroit techno) but for some reason it never reached the masses in the US up until a few years ago. It still hasn't reached the masses and isn't intringed in the culture yet but it seems like it's coming up. Hopefully it won't be the end of techno (or other genres) because commerialism has already killed so much of the value of the electronic scene. In Europe as well.
@@GordonGekkoo I wouldnt know too much of its history since im slowly exploring this sound myself and so far im enjoying the artists that ive come across and hope to attend some techno parties up in Europe but I understand your point.
@@XxXNyMpHoXxX great to hear that you're getting to know the sound. Techno is definitely my fav genre within the electronic space. You should visit Berlin and Amsterdam at minimum.
