- The La Prima mini-humbucker is extremely touch-sensitive, with sweet chiming highs, scooped mids, and tight low end. Open and articulate, it responds to subtle variation in technique without the typical humbucker compression. With both pickups engaged, the tone is transparent and snappy. The neck position has a pleasing rounded sound, whereas the bridge pickup can bite and twang when asked to do so. I put Lollar's Firebird pickups in my Firebird, and it was transformational. Love them.
I have them in my Firebird as well. I love them. I'm not sure why you'd put mini humbuckers in a Firebird when Firebird pickups are even more clear, articulate, and unique. It sounds absolutely killer because RJ is playing it, but Firebird pickups just work so well in a Firebird. There's nothing like them.
This video convinced me in choosing these pickups for my first custom guitar! Thank you R.J.
