Actually, I was wrong the curry blocks do not contain milk, yet i think when they prepare, perhaps without the blocks, some people put in milk, which is interesting. There is another dish that is scrumptious, okonomiyaki, it originated I believe from using leftovers to make pancakes, and is really yummy with the sauces.
think they are called bricks or blocks, they must be in Stockholm. Golden Curry S & B blocks (bricks), tried to send the link but it didn't work. Cheers.
@@nannegronvallofficial Thanks, I had a really good Japanese cookbook before. I like their curry as it is milder than Indian etc also they have so many types of curry, with spinach, etc, the coffee shops are wonderful and some serve curry, was living there for 2.5 years, many moons ago. There is a packet block of spices with cream one can buy, either mild or hot, which is really good, you must be able to get it in Stockholm, I think they put potatoes, carrots, onions, perhaps other ingredients and some meat, that is the basic recipe with the block, yet at the restaurants, etc many types of curry, spinach was my favourite. I will send you the photo of the block, oh dear losing my English, not sure what it is called. Good Luck with the videos. Cheers.
Japanese curry (カレー, karē) is commonly served in three main forms: curry over rice (カレーライス, karē raisu), curry udon (curry over thick noodles), and curry bread (カレーパン, karē pan) (a curry-filled pastry). It is one of the most popular dishes in Japan.[1] The very common "curry rice" is most often referred to simply as "curry" (カレー, karē). Along with the sauce, a wide variety of vegetables and meats are used to make Japanese curry. The basic vegetables are onions, carrots, and potatoes. Beef, pork, and chicken are the most popular meat choices. Katsu curry is a breaded deep-fried cutlet (tonkatsu; usually pork or chicken) with Japanese curry sauce.[2] In the UK, katsu curry is sometimes applied to any type of Japanese curry.[3]
just looked at Wikipedia, amazing how many other types of curry in there are in Japan, this dish above is just about curry with rice, I do not know very much about the other types of curry, I liked tofu, yakitori, and so many other types of dishes.....there is a dish called kiritampo from Tohoku, Akita where I lived, is delicious, was in Tokyo too, now I wish I had never left there...... I went to some cooking classes there.
