+Ace Child (ᕮmbraceTᖺeᙅurl) getting married is something both parties should discuss privately, to see if they're on the same wavelength, and then, if they decide to do so, announce it to their friends and relatives. surprise proposals just seem like a form of emotional blackmail that basically force the one getting proposed to, to say yes
If a man doesn't even really know for sure that she would say yes, then you shouldn't propose. A grown up couple would have had discussions about it. It's not really supposed to be a surprise.

+Cait Smith I'm willing to bet after that long of dating, she'd probably expect it's coming.... but if anything I think the confusion about what was happening would make anyone try to stay low key. Like when everything start to move and be pulled away, you could SEE she had the thought and was going to react, but he kept talking and it was like you could see she didn't want to THINK that's what was happening if he was just doing a sweet video now.... Even that awkwardness later I can imagine being her and being like "Damn. When everything moved I thought this was a proposal, but it's just about a SPOON. Ugh. I'm so embarrassed I reacted like this was going to be bigger!?" ...and then tried to keep dialing it back. That's what I would've done anyway. And then when he really did it, I would've still just been so confused and but like..... okay, I wanna remember this forever, but I'm also being filmed, and AHH THE ROLLERCOASTER OF FEELS!!!

I really like this young guy, he is so kind to her and seems full of love and is going to be the best husband ever. The only thing I worry about is his wife, that she doesn't see how much luck she has, she didn't even tear up and looks kinda bored... don't wanna judge but I just hope she won't break his heart.

The way my dad proposed was soo sweet!
He and my mom were sitting on the couch and he said
"Hey, you, wanna get married"
Then she said back:
"Ya sure"

My dad literally said to my mom
"hey, since you're pregnant I think we should get married, so the baby can grow up in a stable family" and my mom said "yeah, sure, do I ask Tonya (my aunt) if we can get married the same day as her?" And my dad said 'Yeah, why not'
And yep, they got married the same days as my aunt. Double wedding, double celebration

I don't think she actually waited. I mean, she says "yes" before he even starts talking, and if you watch the guy's face in those "tense waiting moments" you can see his mouth moving. It seems they reused clips from her listening to him talking to make it seem more tense?

What I think is really weird about proposing is that the one doing the proposing gets like a few months or maybe years to think, "Do I want to marry this person?" and the one getting proposed to has like fifteen seconds to say yes or no.
That's true, but I figure they might think about it as well. Like if they see a future with that person or not. Especially if the relationship gets serious.
I mean people obviously discuss marriage with their partner, family, and friends. Plus if you're dating someone then it should be with the end goal of marriage anyway. I don't think there has ever been a person who was with someone long enough and didn't think or discuss getting married with that person
But there's also the thing that whenever anyone proposes to another person they've been dating for a significant amount of time
You think about of you want to marry this person while you doing them. To me that is the entire point of dating, to find your future spouse.
So my fiancé and I have been together for almost 5 years now. We started dating at 15 and 16. I still remember talking to him on the phone in our first week of our relationship of how we were going to grow old together, and how he was going to marry me one day. And we were long distance and even though we saw eachother and knew eachother before we haven't seen eachother since we made our relationship official. At 15 on October 3. So three months later in January we saw eachother in that airport and that first hug I knew he was going to be my husband one day. A few years later when he proposed he told me the same thing. It's amazing.

just fyi to everyone who thinks she hesitated in her answer: i dont think she ACTUALLY took that long to give an answer. i'm pretty sure they edited the video to make it more dramatic and "suspenseful." and even if she did take that long to answer, she probably just had to take a few seconds to process what was going on. i mean, a marriage proposal is kind of a big moment that she would want to remember..
I feel a romantic excitement between the two. I like the scene when the girl was shocked that their families came out after her boyfriend proposes to her.
