Wilson Fisk Origin - Tragic Story Of Abuse And Bullying Of World's Most Powerful Crime Lord Explored

- Wilson Fisk wasn't always the feared crime lord that he became later in life. Wilson was an unpopular and chubby kid, who was mercilessly picked on by his peers as a kid. Not partaking in the usual athletic activities of kids his age, Fisk discovered a knack for uncovering the weaknesses of others-and using them to his advantage. This proved to be a much-desired skill he'd carry into adulthood, as the criminal mastermind of New York. Wilson Fisk is ruthless, cunning, and wide-bellied, and while he lacks the superpowers of most of his foes, he does have the brains to outsmart them, at least for some time. Fisk has clashed with heroes, antiheroes, and villains alike, and has been at the center of many, if not most, wrongdoings committed in New York City. He does everything it takes to keep his grip on the New York underworld, which is why he's known as the Kingpin.
Kingpin is a famous Marvel villain who first appeared in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #50 in 1967. Fisk began gathering power in organized crime at a young age and swiftly rose to become one of New York's most influential figures. Fisk's escapades constantly brought him into confrontations with Spider-Man and Daredevil, despite the fact that he used his intelligence and clout to hide his illicit operations. This eventually led to attempts to enter politics, which attracted Matt Murdock's notice. In the comics, the two have sparred numerous times, with Kingpin ordering assassinations on Matt's pals and exposing his double life to the world. Whenever a hero has managed to apprehend Fisk, he has always managed to escape. Today we will take a look at the most powerful crime lord on earth and wade through the murky waters of his past. Let us drive right in!

When my no comic book friends ask me about the kingpin, I ask them "if not him, then who?" Meaning somebody will fill that role regardless, Fisk was the man willing to do it, and he keeps his crime organized, instead of a chaotic mess that can lead to more death, destruction, and innocent people caught in the cross fire.
Eh, he never cared too much about innocents, more about making sure everything ran consistently and smoothly
And that he was shown respect at all times
@@ComicBookGuy420 oh, absolutely, he isn't a bleeding heart trying to clean up the streets for the common man. I only meant that his form of organized crime is just much more polished
@@seanchan4478 oh yeah, lot less chaos under Fisk, less chaos more money
Vincent is the most incredible version of this villain. I adore his portrayal of this villain!
"YOU HURT HER! YOU HURT VANESSA!!!" People may disagree with Fisk's tactics, but he wasn't about to let anyone hurt those he loved, and live to tell the story. I #respect that.
DAMN RIGHT!!
I always imagine Kingpin is like a more powerful version of The Penguin in terms of raw strength and intelligence.
Yeah hes kinda like penguin grundy (minus the immortality) and riddler all wrapped into one
Wilson Fisk is Marvel’s greatest villain, second to none
Exactly
Wilson Fisk, A.K.A. Kingpin will be the next Thanos of the M.C.U.
Just like the Devil's Reign comic storyline where Wilson Fisk is the newly elected Mayor of New York City!
My guess is either Kang, or Dr Doom
As cool as Fisk is, they are so above his head in terms of power
Fisk runs a city and has aspirations of global dominance
Kang is focused on cosmic matters, and Doom rules a country with cosmic implications
@@ComicBookGuy420 not if he has Spider-Man's most powerful foes on his payroll, I'll even list em if you like
@@damianprock1650
Look at the 2 names I mentioned
Kang and Doom
Miles above Fisk in terms of power
So what does that say about their power compared to someone Kingpin might hire
Feel free to list any names you might have found on Wikipedia, won't change the fact that Doom is playing on another level
@@damianprock1650 Please do.
Loved Kingpin's origin explained in the 90's Spider-Man animated series. His father left him behind and he decided to ethier rot or learn which he chose plan B by doin his time, erasing his criminal background, etc and that meant loose ends by sending his father to prison which by that time, he'll most likely die in. Lol. At the end of that two parter episode, he's left wondering how many days till his son will do the same to him.
Yeah, weird
I thought he outright had his father killed.
@@BrotherDerrick3X I don't think so
@@damianprock1650 I'm certain that he did.
@@BrotherDerrick3X not if you remember the time his father and his cellmate, Lonnie Lincoln A.K.A Tombstone helped him frame Joseph "Robbie" Robertson for a crime he didn't commit and stage a prison escape from Ryker's Island
At this point Wilson Fisk Kingpin is what you will get if any mob boss has that much power in New York before it got gentrified to hell & back.
When Wilson Fisk Kingpin got back at his deadbeat dad in the animated series of Spider-Man, that was priceless seeing the look of his deadbeat dad's face Instant Karma for a deadbeat parent.😎
Yep
Wilson Fisk is my favorite marvel villain.
Daredevil born again if you read comics
It is fisk at his worst/best
Zulu swashbuckler.
Spiderman was one of my favorite super heroes he was more closer to reality and so was Wilson fist the kingpin.
Mine too
This is why you don't bully. Other wise the bullied kids become crime lords who take on Spiderman.
Yea, the victim becomes the aggressor. I'd know because I was a victim in school for years but at when I was at a certain age, I towered over my bullies and they got what they deserved in good Ole ass beating
Wise words indeed.
And have the most powerful of Spider-Man's foes on his payroll
Bill gates and Jeff bezos for example
@@XxDoctorGregxX
I dont believe either one of them could take on kingpin and win let alone survive.
Got to love when Peter Parker casually hands Kingpin a HUGE L while fighting him in prison
Love yourself first and most
Believe in yourself

Don't give up and never give in
Ignore those who try to discourage you
Hang on to your dreams
Take control of own destiny
Hang out to your dreams and you to can create a crime

Can't help but wonder who is more Clever and has a more dominant Crew, Kingpin (Marvel), Two-Face (DC), or Black Mask (DC). Interesting Gang or Terf-War Fight/Battle!
@ Eric okonwo: Others probly answered by now, but I'd say Lex Luthor is more dangerous than Kingpin. Just seeing what all Lex did in Justice League Unlimited. If they worked together without double crossing each other, they'd be a terrible pair to match wits with.
Good vs line up.
Two Face is cool, but unstable, and his crew are more terrified than respectful of him, in case they get shot for no rational reason
Ditto for Black Mask
Kingpins crew is terrified of him and react accordingly, but their incompetence (heroes gotta win) makes them often ineffective
6 of one, half a dozen of the other
The Catholic church is harder then these clowns.
Thanks you for your video and channel
He does have superpowers he is that big with 1% body fat 99% muscle 😭😭😭
Kingpin is the very definition of don't pick on another kid, you don't know what they'll turn into!
Technically, the same logic could apply to many comic book supervillains, both Marvel and DC.
@@sarahsims6164 Well I'd say a spoiled rich kid like Harry Osbourne and his dad weren't the case, but it could be said about Jason Voorhees more than anyone more
Daredevil Born Again
One of Fisks men made a few unseemly sarcastic comments in Fisks direction
Fisk calmly killed him before continuing the meeting, ignoring the horrified looks from his men
This is Fisk, crime run with an iron fist, in an orderly fashion, profit and respect above all
Respect to be shown at all times to the Kingpin
Keep it up on your work and this video and channel
You guys are so good n the sincerity toward making good content is visible. Good job guys, respect.
This is a neat Cliffs Notes overview of the comic character. No doubt that many who watch this will get out and buy the associated single issues and arcs - good job.
great episode
I ❤️ this video and channel
Not sure if it was an oversight but you forgot to mention the kingpin is played by Vincent D'Onofrio's on the netflix series, he was the only actor not credited in the narration.
I dunno, when it comes to the rest of the MCU, I'd like the Big Show to play him and we know how devastating he is in the WWE
This is great tx :)
In the comics punisher max he feed his father to a hungry rats
Punisher Max was awesome
But it was another version, not actual cannon, I enjoyed their version of Bullseye myself
Great video big dog 🤙🏽
Kingpin is one of my top 5 Marvel villains of all time.
Would love to see you cover DC characters as well !
Bane
The proper comic book version, Santa Prisca, Pena Dura, Osito, Knightfall, all of it
@@ComicBookGuy420 Yes! Bro bro yes! Lol
I would love to see Batista play Bane in the new version of the DCEU.
@@TheMiKeYM1KE as cool as batista would be, he is awesome, especially in riddick, Bane is meant to be Spanish, or at least Latin
I was thinking CG like they did with Juggernaut and colossus,
Danny Trejo voiced
@@ComicBookGuy420 Lol Bruh I was ready to argue but damn that’s a great idea too!. I would love to hear Danny Trejo’s gravely voice as a huge CG version of Bane.
I believe Batista is Filipino even tho they’re technically Asian , they have some Spanish blood in their Im sure lol No but seriously I think Batista could pass and I’m Latino so I wouldn’t personally be offended or feel like he’s appropriating.
@@TheMiKeYM1KE I wasn't sure with the fillipino thing, whether or not they have Latin ancestry?
Either way, I could see batista as bane, but yeah, CG with Trejo would be my preference
awesome
Kingpin as the main villain for Spiderman 4.
Kingpin vs Black Mask. The battle of the white suits lol
ASOMBROOSO
One of the greatest villains in the mcu and one of the greatest crime lords in marvel comics history. Like what they are doing with him in the new devil’s reign series.
*The greatest in the mcu
I always liked the Kingpin
Fisk killed a man when he was just a kid by setting him on fire when he got paid to do an arson job
Trust me, that isn't isn't the worst he's done
@@ComicBookGuy420 I already know that just pointing out he has already killed before he was 11
@@Rougrou1597 yep, gotta love sadistic storylines
A video was worthy of Marvel's Greatest New York City Crime Lord. 😠
Yep
It might be interesting is if the Schemer joined forces with Hobgoblin
What makes the Kingpin so dangerous is that he's sane super power nut case with daddy issues or issues of life
Now here's the real question...
Is Kingpin a Spider-Man villain or a Daredevil villain?
Or a punisher villain?
He's gotten personal with all of them, but he never went out and tried to ruin their lives like he did with Daredevil
@@ComicBookGuy420 But he's had most of his interactions with Spider-Man. And he's very recognizable as a Spider-Man villain. Though I'd personally call him a Daredevil villain, since his battles with Daredevil are quite iconic.
@@TelestoTheBesto he started in Spiderman
And had a lot to do with the webslinger
But like I said, with daredevil, he made it personal
He killed daredevils father
And addicted Karen to drugs before making her spill who daredevil actually was
Then he ruined matts life and got bullseye to finish the job with karen, before nearly levelling hells kitchen
(He hired nuke to do that part)
With spidey it was more because Spidey was sticking his nose in
With Matt it was personal
@@ComicBookGuy420 Indeed. This is why it's hard to tell who he belongs to. Because he appears so commonly with Spider-Man, but has such a strong connection to Daredevil.
@@TelestoTheBesto exactly, not to mention the amount of grief he's given Frank over the years
He started with spidey, but spidey already has the Green Goblin
I figure him for Daredevils nemesis
One thing is for sure, whenever the Kingpin shows up, whichever hero he sets his sights on, is in for a rough time
And I love it😂
Still have 95 action figures
He reminds of the villain but not who is Lex Luthor
He also took on doom and won somehow
I never understood how kingpin even stands a chance against Spiderman who has super strength
Comic logic. Or if you want to use mental gymnastics you could say he’s a mutant, or that Spider-Man pulls his punches🤷♂️
Spidey, as much as he has the proportional strength of a spider, is still a relatively small guy
Fisk is like 6'8 and 330 ibs
That's a whole lotta muscle
Zulu swashbuckler.
Fist also has cunning and brains as well as muscles.
@@ComicBookGuy420 Spider-Man can rip apart Ironmans armor, a strong “normal”guy shouldn’t be able to touch him. Even if he’s smaller.
@@spider-jonah-man7148
And for a genius he keeps underestimating fisk
Sure, call him donut boy
It nearly got him killed multiple times, including the first time they met
To be clear, I'm not saying fisk is stronger than spidey
I'm saying underestimating someone who is that big, is just silly
Even for the spider
Hold on I thought Eleanor Bishop and Fisk only worked together. Did I miss something?
Same idk
Yep
Spoilers because I don't know what's going to be in the MCU
She was a straight up villain in the comics, not a reluctant one either, but a hardcore villain, albeit with her own reasons
She is a vampire in the comics
She worked for Madame Masque, only to get close enough to kill her ex husband (Kates father) for abandoning her and Kate
She worked with the Kingpin a bit, nothing was ever explicitly shown, but inferences were made
*shoulda used CGI to make him 8 feet tall and muscular*
Other than that wack body, the actor really nailed the character
Kingpin was 6'8 give or take, and 330 Ibs, he always looked fat but had a massive amount of muscle
Vincent was perfect for that role, read the comics
@@ComicBookGuy420 I dunno, concerning the rest of the MCU, the Big Show should play the Kingpin since he's 7ft tall and weighs almost 500 lb of pure muscle
@@damianprock1650
As much as I enjoy Shows acting
Vincent brought a real depth to the character
Wasn't he supposed to be like 6'8 and 450lbs?
Why did Vanessa Kill her son Richard again? I forget.
For betraying his father twice.
Richard was secretly both the Schemer, the Rose, and for a while Blood Rose during The Name of the Rose storyline (Blood Rose was a Punisher-like version of the Rose)
As both the Schemer and the Rose, Richard had sworn to destroy the Kingpin's criminal empire, and apparently Vanessa was enjoying her luxury lifestyle a bit too much to allow that to happen 🌹
@@remc0s the Rose wasn't a bad villain, but not one of the all time greats, kinda meh, like a watered down version of his father
@@ComicBookGuy420 I do like the character for its simplicity.
No over-the-top costume or gimmicks; just a white business suit and a purple, leather S&M gimp mask was all he needed to pose as a fake crimelord.
Like putting on a colored balaclava and crashing a super-villain meeting to let them know you want to join in just because and they are like "Ok."
@@remc0s lulz that damn mask
Still it was better than the original Comedians😂
This all happened because of his W E I G H T
Stole books from libraries? They literally give them to you free lmao 🤣
Never watched the Daredevil series but the actor of Kingpin fits very well. Man I guess I need to rewatch the 90 Spiderman cartoon again. I just remember the the cringy intro song.

Yes
@@LaddRusso91 "Doc Ock was determined to destroy the New York City, when an activator that Fisk had, resulting in a fight between the two, which ended with Fisk winning.
