    I saw the show where Moore replaced Robertson at Winterland. Queen was the headliner. I had no idea who Gary Moore was. 5 minutes before they start a single spotlight shines behind a pair of Marshall stacks and this blistering solo erupts for about 20 seconds. That was my introduction to Gary Moore. I shall never forget it.

      That just gave me chills.....just to read that. I can imagine that. Gary was soulful beyond belief. No better.

      Saw the same Thin Lizzy/Queen bill at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix, AZ. It was a co-headliner show, with Thin Lizzy playing a full two-hour set. Gary was a revelation. (He also played the whole show with the fly of his jeans unbuttoned!)

    True heavy hitters of rock n roll. Snowy White did that scorching playing on china town. Too bad he was not able to be there. Really hope they do a big documentary for Gary. All I have seen are short little things so far. He really deserves it.

      Great player, he played really well with Brian Robertson, Gary Moore, Snowy White, and John Sykes. It's incredibly rare to find a guitar player than can accommodate so many others that well the way he did. He always seemed like a team player.

      +Anthony Zorn That's cool! The band and the crowd were really into it that night. I was up in the mezzanine in the front center. Have seen some good bands but none could get the crowd going like Thin Lizzy.

    Amazing band. One the all time great rock front men, an amazing drummer and over the years four truly outstanding guitarists, all of whom played to serve the song rather than show off. The parts were great but sum of those parts was even greater.

      ***** Has to happen and will, when the guitarists ( who rate themselves up with him because of their egos rather than their guitar playing ) admit he was the greatest most melodic guitarist the ever lived.

      +mick george I am a huge fan of Phil Lynott but you sell Gary Moore short in your comment, Gary Moore wrote the music to Phil Lynott`s best works including Nightlife, the Black Rose album, Still In Love With You, etc etc Gary Moore wrote nearly all of Sarah for instance and he was not only a gifted guitarist he was the best guitarist in the world bar none.

    • @greekfreak1980
      @greekfreak1980 8 лет назад +6

      +mick george Gary moore was far more then just ''a gifted guitarist'',he co-wrote some of Thin Lizzie's best songs and wrote also lots of great songs as a solo artist.Plus,after Rory Gallagher and SRV died in the 90's,he took the torch of Blues-Rock and introduced a whole new generation to this genre.And he wasn't just another guitar virtuoso,he was a true master of this instrument.How many guitarists do you know,who could shred your face off,then go on stage with B.B.King and play Blues or play Jazz/Fusion and Spanish guitar?

      Music is life. They make the world a better place, to this day, with their music. Drugs have nothing to do with good music. It's your choice to focus on drugs. That's what got in the way, as does alchohol, Tylenol or whatever else some people of any occupation are destroyed from getting involved with. And watch your mouth. You're a bad, negative influence on our kids. Say no to drugs. That's a given. Let this be a lesson how it can destroy something special. Good day to you. ▶🎼🔊
