Explore the enigmatic world of the Goloma, a prey species hunted and haunted by a rational fear, leading to a mistrust of all two-eyed beings, whom they perceive as potential predators. Having unique features like Ambush Awareness, Arcane Sight, and the ultimate True Gaze ability, the Goloma excels at evasion rather than blending in. With attributes boosting Wisdom and a chosen stat, they become masterful at avoiding combat. Notably, Watchful Gaze grants immunity to flanking at level 9, while Defensive Instincts and Defensive Claws offer hyper-defensive or stealthy playstyles. Originating from a world where an evil deity stripped everyone of their eyes, Golomas now stand as the sole race with their original number of eyes, making them apparently both coveted and feared by two-eyed creatures seeking perfect vision.

What is your theory behind the name of the Goloma?
Drugs~ and/or random name generators~
The 'l' is the long face and the 'o's are the many eyes on the side
The creator had a fever dream like the Raptor dream in Jurrasic Park 3, but the monster said "Goloma" instead of "Alan". They then woke up and, just like when Marisha Ray created Laudna, they made the Goloma in Pathfinder.
Goloma...
They are g(o)lowing lam(b)as. The extra o and b come from the glOBe shape of the eyes.
Obviously
This is easily the coolest art of Goloma I've ever seen.
It's also the third piece of art of Goloma I've ever seen, 'cause ain't nobody else drawin' em.
I might have to make more :P they are fun to draw
Goloma are the most unique race that I've ever seen in either DnD or Pathfinder.
In my opinion goloma are the best races for the ancient race from long past trope
Or as aliens but ancient race more fun
They definitely feel out of place, I want to know how they fit into the greater lore
I'm making a harrow sorcerer and the goloma is the only race that is mysterious and vigilant enough for me
Sounds like a good choice!
Coming from D&D to play my first PF campaign soon and I'm around looking for build inspiration. Your content is fantastic! It's like informative Drawfee and your art is fantastic. You also made Goloma the coolest ancestry to me and this is now their canonical look imo. I love that you made them more angular and sleek than the Paizo art. For me, this is a perfect monster look that I could still see having many different personalities and I love it.
I know optimized synergies kinda went out the window with Tasha's and PF received a similar freedom affirmation, but if anyone has any fun class/feat combos for these guys, I'm all ears and hope to soon be all eyes.
Comments for the algorithm god, eyes for the eye throne
SO MANY EYES
This feels like that race that's kinda sleeping in the background that's gonna become meta sometime in the next 3 years cuz it's so good for roleplay and rogue/slayer/ranger/druid builds. Seriously though, Perception is such an important roll that in 2e it's not even included with all the other skills because it gets used at least as much as combat rolls. High Wis or Dex Galloma builds have the potential to get CRAZY both in and out of combat.
My first pathfinder character was a Goloma Thaumaturge "Vidi" which means "look" and since I went uber hard into the eyes thing with the abilities and flavoring stuff he had a tiny biblically accurate angel called "Oći" (Ochi) that helped him be a night watch hyper awareness machine, wasnt hella great at combat but still wanna play as him since that first was also the only time I played for like two months
That's awesome I never thought about the angle aspect. I hope you get to play again soon.
@@Rookzer0 been busy as everybody under the sun but I do really wanna get into it in a week or two currently just squeezing every bit of free time into The Wildsea TTRPG
I want to play an Goloma Investigator.
He’s a Refugee from the jungles of Mawngi when an evil lumber company began cutting down the trees in the part of the jungle that housed his tribe. Any survivors of the horrible violence inflicted upon them to remove them from the land, swiftly disappeared deeper into the jungle.
But not my character. He chose to track down the men who did this and make them pay for it. He survived on scraps as he moved from place to place, digging up any information he could on the company; discovering his natural knack for finding out information along the way. He still distrusts the many two eyed races he comes across, but on his quest for justice; he’s more than willing to put his fears to one side.
They can see the players. and understand that they are sort of a deity that watches over all of them and suggests things to them. He can't hear what they are saying but they can see one talking and then a party member doing something with a small delay.
That's opens the door to come dark player interactions
As someone whose about to play their first Pathfinder 2e game as a Unicorn horned Goloma champion, I feel very called out but thank you I to think spooder horse is neat.
Nice I have a bard unicorn goloma I'd like to play as well
The lore for WHY they look like that is actually very simple! You know that advice of: "If you're scared of a Big animal, try to make yourself look scarier" ....Yeah, they just kinda....Evolved that to be permanent
My first Goloma is a Sniper that uses scatter guns an RPG hopping to just go around as a portable Mortar launcher for the party
omg these guys are my favorite! it's awesome to see someone talking about them
Awesome
Goloma are honestly one of my favorite! I love something about the cultural and instincual paranoia they have. And the opportunity to play a prey species rather than predator, like humans and the other base ancestries or adjacent ones.
Kinda wish D&D 5e leaned into this kind pf lore with the Harengon, since rabbits and their cousins; bunnys, and hares, are all prey animals.
I'm in a Pathfinder 2e based Spelljammer (for those that don't know, DGD...in space!) group. While not in space yet, I should convince my DM to let me play one as an alien PC when we get there
Oh a pathfinder channel that does art? Hell yes :3
Welcome in!
Just built a goloma revenant, who had their eyes stolen as spell components (scrying spell maybe?) before being resurrected as a revenant. They're a cleric to Kalekot, "murderer of the guilty, those who society can't punish."
Ford pines: HAVE YOU COME TO STEAL MY EYES!?!?!?!?
Something you left out that I think is important is that they're really good at noticing macro-level patterns but AWFUL at micro. So in a crowd they may notice most people walked right rather than left at a crossroad but if you ask them to remember what color shirt someone in front of them a minute ago was wearing they couldn't tell you. They're always looking at the large strokes, worried about abnornalities. This totally adds onto what you were saying about how these folk are something fun and different from other options as they literally see the world differently.
That's so dope someone make a Indie based of Goloma vision
Definitely adding this to my 5e games
Yes please! Let me know how it goes.
God damn your videos are always amazing. Freaking love them.
Thank you!
I think I might build me a Goloma just to have one
Rookzero, you have build this serios on why pc should try playing as monsters, and a youtuber named Esper The Bard has relased a book on the subject named Monsterous Heros. The book is founded and is being playtested right now. I just wanted to let you know, so you might try out the free stuff that is being playtested. Right now can you play a troll, hag, minotaur and much more
If they were in DnD, what would their traits/features be?
+1cha +2wis speed 35ft, darkvision. +2 to passive perception. Profficiency in intimidation and deception, based on the little lore i read
@@squeegyboi3645 along with Natural Weapons, and Detect Magic once per long rest?
Yeah that sounds good
@@squeegyboi3645 Awesome, and just like Greivois, "This DnD Race shall make a fine addition to my collection."
Might swap the intimidation for stealth but I aggree
There are no surprise rounds in PF2e.
I Hate Spiders!! This race could be the creatures of my nightmares!
Nah, that's the Anadi (If you hate spiders, don't actually look up art of them, they're literal people sized spiders)
but they so fuzzy an happy looking @@whotheheckcares
