I am not the most educated in sexually and gender, but I think Flint's sexuality is very fluid. I think he was sexually attracted to Miranda when she came on to him, but I agree his love for Thomas was the truest he had ever accounted. Flint's relationship with Miranda was bound by their mutual love for Thomas, and in that, it did make them a family. Thomas told Miranda James would look after her, to go with him and James loved Miranda just as much. I am just happy Black Sails made such an interesting poly relationship.

This is really late but I've been thinking and I honestly love the bond between Miranda and Flint. I don't think that it was romantic attraction but I also wouldn't say that it was platonic? Maybe something like how some people with mental illnesses have a Favorite Person so to say who they kinda cling on to and who they are very very attached to. Overall I really really loved the Flint/Hamiltons relationship and the visions that Flint had after Miranda died and how he killed Ashe for that.

I'm very romantic with her and protective, but we don't get physical. We both love our bf completely too. I think it's called a V relationship with one person as the main anchor.
