When I first watched IT Crowd I thought it's a fictional band and the name was a gag about the stereotypical metal band names, because who names their band Cradle of Filth. Well, I lost my shit when I realised it actually is a real thing.

Funny thing is that I personally went goth just like that character in IT Crowd did - after listening to COF. There's definitely something to this band .. to Dani's outstanding dark creativity and song lyrics..

This was recorded against a greenscreen for some reason, I don't know why, but has anyone done something amusing with this video as a result?
I don't like Heavy Metal (the only exception is Sepultura) and Cradle of Filth came to my attention in 2001. A friend of mine used to play it over and over and I couldn't stand it. But when I saw the CoF reference on IT Crowd, I've changed my mind. They're really good. 😅
I once met a Brazilian man on a train in England and I told him the only thing I knew about Brazil was Sepultura. He said his cousin was Andreas Kisser's gf!😂

I've been a metalhead for over a decade. Cradle of filth was one of the first bands that got me into metal, and so much that I practically copied everything Dani did. My real name is Kani and his Dani we both have the last 3 letters. I tried to do the same eyeliner, and I've been practicing my vocals, but my vocals are basically like Dani from Cradle of filth. Nowadays I learned to have my own style. I'm mostly into Technical death metal bands like Archspire, and dsbm bands like, Coldworld.
You resemble Richmond, he also changed and even lainted his cace after his first encounter with this music genre via cradle of filth. That's how he got demoted and bad his life ruined.
I never even realised it was a REAL band! And Sweet Billy Pilgrim..thought they were just made up, too!
I've recently been looking for rock stars that resemble the Primarchs from Warhammer 40000, and while I don't listen to Cradle of Filth, I think Dani Filth would be a dead ringer for Conrad Curze.

A year ago I was a normal child googling to see if the band off the IT crowd was real. THEN I became hit with “the emo/goth phase (I like both emo and goth subcultures ok) and now cradle of filth is one of my fave bands :)

No no we're probably similar ages. I'm just not that in to really dark metal. Disturbed is about as demonic sounding as I really like. Plus I haven't listened to much metal at all the last few years.
