- * Had a blinking oil pressure light on my dashboard. And I figured to go to the easiest solution by swapping out my oil pressure switch for a new one
* You can find a switch at www.fcpeuro.com, very cheap genuine part.
* If you have any questions or maybe run into a problem feel free to shoot it down below in the comments I don’t know everything but I sure know that this isn’t as hard as everybody else makes it to seem
(Update): unfortunately for me after testing running the oil pressure problem isn’t fixed but my next best bet is to drop the pan before doing a full oil change and check the screen for the oil pump most likely will have build up of sludge :(

Hey man, love your video (and hilarious commentary) I have a 2011 A4 and need to replace the oil pressure sensor(brown one) any tips on doing this, or things I may need to disconnect or anything. I seen one video where a guy disconnected the battery?! Anything helps man, thank you

We have a 2005 b7 3.2 Quattro that has only 40,000 miles (Nana’s car until my teenagers took it over) and it suddenly threw low oil pressure and low coolant warnings simultaneously. Engine has been running fine. Recent oil change and spark plugs replaced. Trying to figure out how to replace the oil pressure sensor in this engine- but it seems to be a very rare engine. If you have any ideas about why this set of warning lights and/or where this sensor is, would love to have your input.
9/10 either its the chain tentioner or oil pump

Well I actually still have a oil pressure problem so unfortunately it wasn’t a faulty oil pressure sensor. So it’s most likely a clogged oil pick up which is a pain to remove. Mine does the same thing typically under 2500 rpms and under any thing above that it seems to disappear under high rpm load

Did you check the condition of your cam follower? Was it ever replaced? Not a 100% sure how often, but I think cam follower lasts 30-60k km. If it’s not replaced in time it wears off and breaks. Then these small metal pieces could be anywhere inside your engine damaging internal components; most common oil pump, turbocharger or even camshaft chain. Just google cam follower replacement and you’ll see it yourself. Most people complaining about German vehicles not reliable, but the problem is not the vehicle it self it’s the scheduled maintenance service they skipped... Plus dump mechanics with limited knowledge.
Even if you perform your own service, you need to know what parts or fluids need to be replaced.
You need to remember, any vehicle needs service, not just an oil change.
Cars like girls, you need to look after them or they will slap you in the face and dump you...
Igor V it was replaced less 30k ago but I bought a new one and will be replacing soon. I heard a lot about the cam follower and your right it can cause some chaos. Thanks for the heads up my friend 👍
@@scuffedgarage8519 How's your valve cover gasket? Was it replaced? With age, it turns to hard plastic. It doesn't only leak oil, but breaks into small pieces and washed off with oil down the engine. The pick up tube oil screen can be clogged because of that. Valve cover gasket is cheap and really easy to change. I really don't know what other solutions to offer. Did you remove the oil pan? It's pain in the ass, but if you did, try to inspect your oil pump or better remove it and inspect it. Most likely the problem in your oil pump, grided shaft or broken tooth. Also, check the chain on oil pump and tensioners.

Probably the rear coolant flange. It's a cheap & easyish fix.
The thermostat housing units probably in the same condition, so if it suddenly starts running cold = thermostat housing, replace the crankcase ventilation hose part at the same time since it's cheap & the same amount of work to get to it.

@@xfreaker9694 interesting .getting some noise under valve just did timing belt and timing chain on my a4 B7 cams and lifters looked good I’m wondering if it’s a valve issue. It’s only on cold starts for about 5 to 10 seconds so you think that’s normal ? Wondering if the pump is losing pressure
My simptomes was: rattling cold (morning) start for 1-2 seconds, and when engine gets hot he starts being weirdly loud

Joseph Sloan I think so I hopefully I will be making a video in a week with me replacing the pickup and O-ring clean the pan and change the level sensor and you’ll see hopefully good results soon thanks!

I have a C7 Audi A6 and I can get the damn clip off the oil pressure switch, howd you get yours off
Dennis Kapiy a regular screw driver should do the trick. Just press it against harness and it should loosen up.

@@denniskapiy Did it work? If not I push the connector towards the sensor and then put a small screwdriver under the tab, pry gently and you will hear a click. It then can be removed. Remember gently or you will break the connector.

@@willram9 Behind the supercharger next to the oil filter cap, there was black padding in my car to protect hoses from heat so I had to remove that. Easiest way to find it is to remove the black trim near the back of the supercharger with the Audi logo, and look there near the oil filter. Its pretty deep in there, I could barely get my hand down there. I ended up buying an OEM sensor and paying a shop $60 bucks to take care of it for me.

I suspect the oilpump is bad, or something. My car sudently got converted into a diesel (sounds like a diesel engine, tick tack tack tick) and the oil pressure light came on, right before I got home. like 200-500 meters away from my house, fucking shit..... Well, I wanna repair it, because its the best audi I have driven In years, and I work with used cars at work so I tried a few.
