The story of Alena and Irena takes place behind the walls of the Zlatá labuť department store. 🦢 They have to keep their love affair a secret.
It is 1939 and the occupying troops are crossing the state border into the Czech part of Czechoslovakia. This dark period also begins to cast shadows on the department store where the whole story of the series takes place.
👸🏻 Irena comes from a wealthy family that owns, besides a thriving business, the Zlatá labuť department store. She lives in an estranged marriage with Lukáš, tries to keep the family business running and secretly meets with Alena.
💁🏼♀️ Alena is a saleswoman in the fashion department of Zlatá labuť. She is dating Jakub, but her heart belongs to Irena.

Ano, její chování je pochopitelné, musí taková být a v jádru je to velice křehká žena. Nemá to vůbec jednoduché z pozice, ve které je a ví, že musí Alenku chránit a také sebe. 🙏Věřím, že po válce spolu někam utečou

Tyhle dvě mi vyrazily dech...tak skvěle zahrané (uvěřitelné) postavy vyprávějící zakázanou lásku, která prostě chytne za srdce ❤ a tak moc jim fandíte aby jim to vyšlo 🙏 jestli je to vůbec možné...😢 Tenhle seriál je velmi dobrý, až se nechce věřit, že je z Česka. Jinak video super, těším se na další 👍😉

I found from one interview that Kristina have done and she was asked about it how she and Alena have been meeting and she said:
Unless there are some flashbacks at some point, these moments will probably be left to the viewer's imagination. We've given a rough idea of what might have happened, but we didn't go into detail. Alena and Irena got together during the preparations for the opening of the Golden Swan when Alena went through the selection process and Irena noticed her.
Yes, that's right, I read that interview too :) It's a shame we won't get to know, on the other hand it gave us some interesting information we didn't know before. 🙌

I'd really like to. Unfortunately, I don't have the time capacity. 😢 And how it started? This video captures their moments from the beginning of the series. So it started with the bracelet and continued with the stares in the cafeteria... We don't know exactly where these two met, but they obviously knew each other before. All we know is that in the first episode, Alena was sneaking out of her room to visit a secret partner... 😱 Later it turned out that she was secretly seeing Irena. ❤

Easier to understand the story with this context cause from this edit it seemed you either left out their meeting/earlier scenes or that this storyline started from nowhere. So now it's clear that wasn't the case, just that it would have been impossible for you to show it to us without including every scene (which you obviously can't do)
You're welcome! Surprisingly, the two edits truly cover 90% of their scenes together, only the ones where Alena talks about her second, secret lover are left out. The TV series is done in an intriguing way, they showed us only tiny hints from the start, and then we officially found out about their relationship in episode 8, where they shared the passionate kiss in the office. Most of the viewers were like 😱🤣

Their 1st kiss was the first one they showed us on the show, but we know they've secretly been dating before! 😍🤍 In the first episode, Alena was already sneaking out from her bedroom in the middle of the night, in the second episode, Alena already referred to Irena as "Irena" instead not "Mrs. Maskova", so their relationship must have started before the first kiss that we`ve seen

Pozerám obidve verzie a sú veľmi rozdielne, plus, LGBT vzťahy v slovenskej televízii už boli a odozva nebola práve najlepšia. Dunaj je v tejto chvíli najpopulárnejším slovenským seriálom, čiže to podľa mňa ani nerisknú. Bolo by to prekvapenie ak áno.
Já taky koukám na Dunaj k vašim službám už od začátku, protože na Slovensku to začalo dříve. Je to úplně stejný seriál stejné postavy jenom co mě teď zarazilo ve Slovenské verzi chybí tato zápletka.🤔

Dunaj mi príde viac taký family-friendly, zatiaľ čo Zlatá labuť je drsnejšia a realistickejšia. Sú si podobné ale zároveň úplne iné.

It's absolutely excruciating to see their pure and unconditional love in all those circumstances. The threat of the nazi regime is often discussed in other scenes and a director has been arrested for a same-sex relationship and subjected to electric shock therapy 😓 I think this couple has some obstacles coming their way soon, as recently three people found out about their relationship, but I'm hopeful, the TV series has been romantic rather than historically accurate so far 🤞 I definitely wouldn't mind a happy ending for these two! ❤️

There are no subtitles at the moment, not even Czech subs for the hearing impaired. 😅😔 But they keep adding subtitles to the most popular movies and TV shows so hopefully if they add Czech subtitles in the future, might be possible to extract them and translate. 🤞
