Wanted me to write you a letter Here it is, left downriver, on the boat And if these things I feel around me Could reach you, they never will You’re much too remote Women walk in the shade with water jars It’s so different here, so hot, no phones, or cars It’s so different here Its afternoon, we fall asleep, the people mend their nets, They’ll be on the boats at sunrise Watch them at their lives, they teach me much, I could not tell you moot until you’ve seen my eyes Women walk in the shade, with water jars It’s so different here, so hot, no phones, or cars It’s so hot…. We never built a conclusion, of our affairs, ups and downs And now my job has bought me here River still flows slowly, when the land is low The mind weeps on, but I’m too hot to shed a tear Women walk in the shade with water jars It’s so different here, so hot, no phones, or cars Women walk in the shade with water jars It’s so different here, so hot, no phones, or cars It’s so different here It’s so hot here
I love your music, specifically when I doing my Portraits of Peoples. One day would love to do a Portrait of You . Remember the name Carnell Vaughn. Keep it real. Sweet.
This version is good but I still prefer Vivienne McKone on Gota Yashiki's album, "It's So Different Here." Vivienne's gorgeous voice perfectly complements Gota's fusion jazz. Sadly, this rendition doesn't seem to be available on RUclips due to Japanese copyright restrictions.
What a lovely version! Brilliant! I remember the Rachel Sweet version and it was great...but This is the feel!
This song takes me to such a far away place...I forget where I'm at! Lol LOVE THIS WOMAN! ♡
Shiva Radhe Shakti ॐ Who Rachel Sweet? Yeah... I miss her too

Hi Hollie! Keepin' things Punky Reggae! Lots of love.
I was looking for the version from Gota Yashiki's 1997 CD "It's So Different Here. But I found this, and I like it!
Wanted me to write you a letter
Here it is, left downriver, on the boat
And if these things I feel around me
Could reach you, they never will
You’re much too remote
Women walk in the shade with water jars
It’s so different here, so hot, no phones, or cars
It’s so different here
Its afternoon, we fall asleep, the people mend their nets,
They’ll be on the boats at sunrise
Watch them at their lives, they teach me much, I could not tell you moot
until you’ve seen my eyes
Women walk in the shade, with water jars
It’s so different here, so hot, no phones, or cars
It’s so hot….
We never built a conclusion, of our affairs, ups and downs
And now my job has bought me here

I agree! I was looking for it here on RUclips, and I couldn't find it. I thank goodness I have the CD with the Gota version
I miss Gota's version also. All of a sudden, after years, it is barred on RUclips in the US. :(
Big chune!
epic.....way too short though
🇯🇲👏🤙😁🌻
decent version but the original by Rachel Sweet is a lot better.
I like this better.
