I once read a Korean article that said the BTS sound is pretty much Jungkook sound and I agree. JK is quite literally the vocal backbone of BTS. He balances out the difference in tones of other members because he has the range and the ability to control his voice/tone and hold those differences together. He just has a way with his voice that work so well in harmony with others and that's why his harmonization always works. That is not to discredit other members but I believe without Jungkook the vocal structure of BTS songs suffers greatly since he basically operates as the vocal foundation of their songs. At the same time, like many people have said, since Jungkook uses his vocal talent to befit the group songs and hold the structure together, he doesn't get to show off his voice much; which is why his covers/solo songs attract so much attention because people get to hear various vocal styles from him that they didn't expect before. And like many people have said I don't think even JK himself realizes the depth of his potential. He is the main vocalist for a reason (many reasons actually).

A good singer is someone who can sing But an excellent singer is someone who can sing and storytell the lyrics/emotions the way they're supposed to be without exaggerating them too much or lacking in delivery. And Jeon Jungkook fits this balance beautifully. He’s always taking different approaches with each song, you can always tell he really thought it through with the way his voice comes out and how he uses different tones for different lyrics and expressions. Most of the time bts songs doesn’t let him show his full potential tbh. Since he can easily slide up and down with his range, they almost always use him like a bridge between tae’s deep tone and jin&jimin’s high tone. Because of that, he doesn’t always gets to show the highlights in his voice in their music. ( like his ability of doing high notes or his rich lower register, or his actual voice tone that has a little bit of rasp). That’s why i can’t wait for his solo album. He has so much to offer in terms of vocals.

I was watching their BoyWithLove performance when I heard from nowhere the adlibs and harmony and asked myself, “Who is that? I seem to be hearing just one person doing all the adlibs and the harmonies!” True enough, it was Jeon Jungkook. What I love about him is that, he is happy working on the background. I’ve been singing for 50 years, and I’ve never heard anyone who is as gifted as him. He is an extraordinary and beautiful person, through and through.

He got everything, not only his golden voice but also amazing technique, but most importantly, Jungkook can express/deliver different type of emotions perfectly by using different singing voices. A beautiful presentation of him, his voice and what he can do with it. Thank you Ida. He is such an all rounder, dazzling in all genres and styles, but what he becomes when he sings "traditional " Korean music is something really, really special. Not my cup of tea genre wise but insanely interesting to listen to. His voice becomes larger than life and so intensely engaging, expansive, ultra rich, almost tremble-y with all emotions and pathos he projects into it. So good !! When I was listening to his Weverse live last weekend what totally knocked my socks off was covers of Kick Back, Airbag and Burn - INSANITY !! Drinking his beer, lounging on a reclining chair and doing world class singing like its nothing . So happy, you included Airbag in this video. I didn´t even know the song prior his live but got smitten immediately. Sections as you made them were really neat and for a layman like me, or anybody else for that matter, I liked how they guided us through plethora of his vast tool box, one by one. His runs and adlibs, my personal weakness, lol. I had to smile when I saw you used also that one short run from PTD ( ... like a dancing fool), which is basically the only reason I occasionally listen to the song that I otherwise strongly dislike :-) His voice is magical right ? I’m a trained vocalist and I sing in a 100 person choir with some truly talented and trained vocalists. However, nobody in my choir can do everything he does. I’ve been singing for 50 years, and I’ve never heard anyone who is as gifted as him. He is an extraordinary and beautiful person, through and through.

He got everything, not only his golden voice but also amazing technique, but most importantly, Jungkook can express/deliver different type of emotions perfectly by using different singing voices. True to the core. He even sings covers like it's his own song. The original artists have even complimented him. Very versatile yet distinct in each song he sings. And his singing never wavers. Never heard any Korean singer who can trill his notes like Jeon Jungkook.

He is such an all rounder, dazzling in all genres and styles, but what he becomes when he sings "traditional " Korean music is something really, really special. Not my cup of tea genre wise but insanely interesting to listen to. His voice becomes larger than life and so intensely engaging, expansive, ultra rich, almost tremble-y with all emotions and pathos he projects into it. So good !!
When I was listening to his Weverse live last weekend what totally knocked my socks off was covers of Kick Back, Airbag and Burn - INSANITY !! Drinking his beer, lounging on a reclining chair and doing world class singing like its nothing . So happy, you included Airbag in this video. I didn´t even know the song prior his live but got smitten immediately.
Sections as you made them were really neat and for a layman like me, or anybody else for that matter, I liked how they guided us through plethora of his vast tool box, one by one. His runs and adlibs, my personal weakness, lol. I had to smile when I saw you used also that one short run from PTD ( ... like a dancing fool), which is basically the only reason I occasionally listen to the song that I otherwise strongly dislike :-) His voice is magical right ?
