Girl dont be sad. You know what your father did was wrong. We can choose who we love regardless of race. What you did was right. Remember what your father did to you was because he probably love you the most out of everyone that was why he cant forgive you the most. But you should be happy you were given the opportunity to go college when you were not his real child. I am my parents real child and they dont even support me to go to my dr degree because I am only a daughter. I think your adoped father probably love you more than a real father had. My dad dont even love me that much.

  • @Shoua608

Me ntxhais aw cas koj lub neej yuav tu siab ua luaj. Your father had no right to ask you to do everything as he wished. A father who loved his child should never have to ask you to choose between your love and your family. You did all you could have done; he hurt you with every word that came out of his mouth. It was his loss for disowning you.
You’re lucky you have a loving supportive husband. God bless your family

I’m sorry you said he doesn’t love you but didn’t he support you to get your doctor degree? I dont see many people supporting non biological kid to get doctor degree. Yes he was wrong for not understanding but remember he was born in the 40-60s. They don’t understand what we understand these days their mind is still back in the old days. Just remember that he was savior. Sad that you just couldn’t suck it up and spend the last few years for him. Both of your pride got in both of your ways but when your dad caved in you didn’t until his last breath. Koj los siab phem kawg thiab os. Your dad loves you, a father that works a regular job and farm outside to send you to medical school loves you. You disappointed him so much to the point it broke his heart. He's a typical older generation guy that is why he disown you. Even if you are his biological child he'll do the same. One day when your child disappoint you, you will understand where your dad was coming from. You are the one child that he loves the most, do you know why because he waited to see you before taking his last breath. You are a mother now, you will understand him one day. I know that he truly loves you.

Girl!! You should be more open minded since you're the educated one. Your father loves you. How many parents would ever support a child who is not their blood to go to college like your father? He should be more open minded about your husband, but he's an OG with a mindset of 1975. You should be more greatful. My husband is almost the same way your father is to our daughter too and she is his biological daughter. So hearing your story, he does love you. He lost hope in you.

You were lucky to have such great parents who raised you with unconditionally love. You were the ones who didn't understand their love and take it the wrong way. Now, I just hope and pray that your husband will love you until the end because that's what you wanted and made your relationship miserable. Your kev tu siab is not even that bad for you to not keep in contact, your step dad loved you more than his real children, I think that shows a lot already, you seemed not to see the bigger picture. My dad told us that we are only daughters that will go outside only, but I didn’t tu siab, I loved him the same until he left this earth. They try to apply tough love and they like to hit you where it hurts to make you turn back to them. It's poor communication and lack of emotional intelligence that causes so much heart ache. I know this story was to make the listener feel sorry for the daughter. This story also sounds very made up. Regardless of the validity of the story... I did not feel bad for her. I'm actually very annoyed. The daughter was 100% in the wrong. She acts like she is such a good daughter, is so smart & intelligent that she becomes a DR - yet, can't figure out a small situation between the man who raised her as his own. Therefore, leaves the only family she knows until the father's dying day.
    But wait!
2 years before he died, the doctors had already told him they cannot treat his illness and they couldn't guarantee his life through even the month's end. If he was in that critical of a condition - he probably wouldn't have lived 2 more years.
Not going to go see the dad over her "heartbreak" from being disowned as an adult, is so childish. I hope her own children will disown her someday as payback. She should understand as an ADULT, that she is going against her dad's wishes, so should give him time to accept her choice.
Another unbelievable event is how her husband ran off like a little girl into the park and hugged a tree crying b/c he didn't know her life story. 😂😂😂 ggg a a a yyy!!!
Anyway, bottom line is, she should have gone to see her dad who took care of her even when he didn't have to.
No reason to be a big

You’ve shared the heartache you felt when your father cast you off for not approving of your husband. You stood your ground, chose the person you love, achieved everything you desired and he should be happy for you. In the end he was. He just had too much pride to show it. You did well sister. Old people are raised differently. They think the right way to knock some sense into us, is by harsh words. But they dont understand that we generation are sensitive and weak minded. Anyway, your dad love you very much! Glad you made it up to his death bed then living your whole life regretting it. Remind me of that bollywood movie.

I don’t believe that’s love ppl! Love is unconditional. Her father loved her to fulfill his unfulfilled dream of becoming a doctor. He let years passed without ever trying to reconcile until he was in his deathbed. How selfish is that? Just ask for forgiveness in the end and be guilt tripped into accepting his apology. That’s no Father. Leave the daughter to carry the burden of so many u resolved questions! And then heal her own self! Geesh!

Your adoptive family they all loved so much, especially your dad!! He's just a stubborn old Hmong father. I hope you cN forgive him. I hope you keep in touch with your adotive family and love them!!
You were lucky to be given to a adoptive family that loved you! Your father forced the whole family to love you and treat you as their own.
I'm pretty sure him kicking you out had nothing to do with you being an adoptive child. He was just mad because he wanted you to marry someone else.

Sorry to hear about your experienced. Your father is definitely a typical Hmong parents, I'd say most. However, your story does displayed that he loves you the most. The both of you were heart broken with the decision you make. You were not able to please each other because you are your own person. However, I think your dad was the most heartbroken one because he yelled at you out of anger. I know he was hoping you'd go back to him because you are his child but you didn't. He painfully waited for you and I'm glad that you went to see him before he passed. I hope you and your family are doing well today. Thank you for sharing your story with us. Please, don't think that your family don't love you, they definitely do. I agreed with your husband and I pray you're at a better place today.

I am glad that in the end, your father reached out to you and waited for you to come see him before he passed. It's unfortunate that because of "close-mindedness" that led to the destruction of yours and his relationship. So many years wasted. I can understand your hurt because words can break someone no doubt. And you have the right to feel that way. No one wore your shoes during that time, only you did. No matter what happened in the past, I hope that you are able to move forward knowing that your father probably felt so bad for his role too. *hugs*.

Your stepdad dad use his old soldiers way to make you feel miserable. Who he think he is....He claim he has a good heart, but his actions prove otherwise. He only cares about his name. Shhhhh those old people. We understand you fought for the war, but that doesn't mean you use that name to live your life and ruin your kids life/feeling.

You're lucky your dad n niamloj take you as their own while your guys were in the jungle. Otherwise she just gonna toss you in the jungle and leave you to dead. Nco ntsoov tus pub mis yus noj os. Our parents are biological parents but they do the same thing too. "Tough" love is what almost every hmong parent have. But your dad is so racist too.

You just want everyone to do what you want/say, but they can't make any major choice about their life without your say? And he still had the audacity to say that 20k wasn't enough? That is very mean old fart!
