    What will dramatically change Ghana’s Financial circumstances is if they reform the land right laws. Clam down on corruption. Allow foreigners to purchase land without the threat of lawsuits or seizure.. that will encourage people to buy land live there and strengthen the economy. Also change the law that a Ghanaian Must own 50% of a business.

      Foreigners should buy land legally like anywhere else in the world and as an African I don't know why foreigners are selling land in Ghana.Most countries do the same thing when a foreigner tries to open a business,e.g Canada has the same law

      @ First of all Ghana is disguising with it’s corruption so don’t compare it to Canada. And if you buy something you should be able to sell it. Also you mentioned buy it legally, well there doesn’t seem to be a legal process in Ghana….Your mindset is what’s holding Ghana back… But they will be forced to change either by economics or military!

    I may be naive, but Ghana has Gold, that can be mined relatively responsibly. Why are they not stockpiling that? And applying to BRICS?

    • @iAmLeslieJones
      @iAmLeslieJones  24 дня назад

      It can definitely mined responsibly…why it is not is the question. 🤦🏿‍♀️

      @@iAmLeslieJonesThe Gold fields are owned by companies who have contracts with companies often foreign companies. The government may have a stake in such companies. Therefore, they’re not in a position to stockpile Gold. Plus Gold does not have a value unless it’s sold (it doesn’t generate and income). But it would improve your financial standing (like security for loans). Bottom line The Gold has been leveraged already in exchange for the income derived from deals they’ve done with mining companies often through minority stakes. Companies who own that Gold are such as Asante Gold and AngloGold Ashanti. You’d have to Nationalise the gold mines and that would lower your financial standing in the world and probably increase the cost of borrowing. Like and individual with questionable credit.
