In today's episode of Restorations with Vick, he takes on the big task of bringing these Travis Scott 4s back to life. He starts off by cleaning the shoe using the Reshoevn8r essential kit. He then uses our new product "Sole Revive" to unyellow the outsole and bring it back to its like-new self. Moving onto the midsole, Vick strips the old paint using acetone and cotton balls. Using a mixture of colors, he gets the perfect match-up for the new midsole paint. Lastly, Vick laces up the shoe and gives his insight.

I was able to utliize a number of your methods to bring back my limited Adidas Kamanda Dragonball Z Buu. All pink suede. I was able to reset the very fine nap and keep the vibrant color. I'm glad to have these tutorials and whatnot because i do wear my shoes like i mean it lol. Thanks for your great videos.

After you’ve painted the side of the sole with white and the blue mixed piant, you used a clear lacquer? Or what did you use? Because my own Jordan 4 Travis Scott blue’s need some touchup by the sole part, some paint has come of the side of the sole part. I wanted to touch it up but I need to know what you’ve used😃👍🏽

I’m glad you didn’t try to dye the suede back to the og color it would of washed out the looks of the shoe and would of made them look good the way you used the 600g sand paper was a really good method never seen someone do that method on suede and it seems like the suede came out perfect so happy with the result and I’m sure the reshoevn8r fam was happy with the risky result thanks guys !

Remember he did leave it for a week so make sure if you are going to unyellow shoes it’ll take time
That's good work. Too bad there's nothing you can do about that blue suede being so faded. These shoe pop right out of the box.
I'm more impressed by the patience to wait ANOTHER WEEK to bleach the second shoe.

True, but we’re also supposed to be taking care of our sh*t too. At some point you gotta do maintenance on your shoes yourself, basic cleaning something can’t just not take care of your stuff…
Vick killed it again!! 🔥🔥🔥 question tho: Week long in the indoor set up; how long per day? More than one session a day? .. love these restores!
Do about 10 hour sessions each day depending on how bad the shoes are yellowed
5-10 hours per day depending on the severity of the yellowing.
If you use saloncare 40 it will probably take less time. I've never done more than 3 sessions for any restoration.
Have not seen Vick for a long time.

Unfortunately, the mink oil would not have done anything in this situation. They were too faded and lost too much color.

When you say a week for the Travis sole to be that ice how many times do you keep reapplying the sole revive?
I’m pretty sure you do it after every session. Some people do like 12 hour sessions, some people do like 24 hour sessions, but they reapply the sole revive or salon care 40 after every session
@RESHOEVN8R If you were going to prep a mixture to dye the uppers, would you use the same combo of the gamma blue and opaque violet or do the uppers lean a different color? I want to restore a faded pair

No, not at all. We have a few products like our shoe trees and laundry bag that will keep both your shoes and washing machine safe!
When you leave your shoes in the light box set up for a week, do you have to change the sauce regularly or do you just apply once and leave it the full week session?

Now with the sole brightening, wouldn’t using it on the black portion ruin the grip ? From my experience it causes traction loss after sessions
Yes you’re right, only use it on the translucent rubber
Just curious, why didn't you use the mink oil at the end on the suede?
it doesn't last. Yes it will make the suede darker but he'll have to keep using the mink oil to keep the color dark. Honestly his best bet would be to have the suede redyed, but that would be pretty hard to find the exact match for the shade of blue that Jordan Brand used. IMO putting them in that in-door setup to deoxydize the sole probably didn't help the suede. I can guarentee that exposing the suede to those strong UV rays faded the color on the suede and also added a couple years worth of wear on that polyurethane midsole. UV exposure is not good for suede, regular leather or polyurethane.
How do we get that blue for the midsole?
I have a pair with scuffs on the suede. would you recommend the 600 grit to remove them? also can you help me with the ratio of violet to gamma blue paint? is it 1 to 1 mix?

No, not all shoes can be washed in the washing machine. Only certain ones. We can look into cleaning that shoe!

When you say they were in your indoor set up for a week, is that 1 application of sauce and a week straight? Or are you taking them out at certain intervals to wash and reapply?
im pretty sure he took them out and reapplied the sauce, i usually do 12 hour sessions and reapply because it dries out sometimes

Hey Vick how can I get my Jordan 11 soles restore. The glue separated and now they are hanging off. The shoe is great condition I just need to re-glue the soles.
You had them in the setup for a week…..how many times did you change the dressing or did the solution stay on for the whole week?

Would you recommend spraying the water/ stain repellent on these Travis 4? Lmk would greatly appreciate it. Just bought mine and they have water stains and wanted to know after I clean them should I spray them

Is it possible to spray paint the uppers with the paint mix. I hate that my pair looks like more of a grayish blue than the regular blue
U need specific suede dye for that very hard to come by i had a guy on IG But he sucked at responding

These specific shoes were Matts personal pair that he wore almost everyday since they dropped, which is how they got so beat.

Temperature doesn't matter. The colder the better actually so you avoid any sole separation. You can start by leaving them out an hour or two at a time and checking them to make sure they're ok and reapplying more sole revive as needed.
Can I ask, why did you hand paint the white on the midsoles but spray the blue instead? Does it have to do with the brush strokes being obvious?
