Freddie Hart from Lochapoka, Al, Sonny James Hackleburg, AL Both singers with very unique voices that i never get tired of hearing. Load up the 8 track tape case and hit the road in my 1972 ford ltd convertible and cruise back in time.
You are correct, this should have been a hit... But, this song came out in the 80s after country radio had begun to turn it's back on it's legends and shift more toward rock style music, and younger artists. Today, 35 years later country radio and music row has completely KILLED country music. I do not have any problem whatsoever with things changing, and I feel that when it comes to art there is room for everything... HOWEVER, you do NOT ever turn your back on the artists that built your industry. I knew country radio had lost it's mind when they literally stopped playing George Jones, Hag, Cash, Don Williams, Loretta, Dolly, Ray Price, Waylon, Willie, Freddie Hart, Paycheck, Conway- the list goes on and on. Most of country music's biggest legends were still pumping out GREAT albums in the 80s, 90s and even into the 2000's... but couldn't get a second of airplay. That is DISPICABLE! DISGUSTING! The music execs outed their biggest stars, now, its evolved into this auto-tuned popped up mess- you don't hardly hear the steel, fiddle, banjo etc. Just a twangy popped up mess! And country-rap? Holy shit, I bet ole' Hank just loves that! You know what I find to be the saddest part of all of this is that most of the biggest legends lived long enough to see their beloved music murdered right before their eyes.
Awesome. Been a Freddie Hart fan for years. The artists from today's generation couldn't hold a candle to those of Freddie Hart's generation....when country was really country. Great post!
Freddie had a unique and heartfelt delivery all of his own that made him instantly recognizable and his career became a runaway success after his brilliant multi-million seller, "Easy Loving" # 1 in 1971. This great upload which unfortunately did not do itself justice in terms of chart position, showed that he had lost none of his vocal talent.
Once again, Freddie Hart doesn't disappoint. Love all of his music. Thanks so much for uploading this one. It's a heart breaker. I've never heard it before, and it goes right to my Freddie Hart playlist. Thanks!
This is terrific: Perfect for a waltz or a rumba* special gal. Cant find the lyrics anywhere(I like to sing along), can anyone help? Thanks for posting it WillburScott. * I know a waltz is 3/4 time and a rumba 4/4, but some melodies can be played in both, and are recorded in both.
I never will forget those nights, we came so close, she was never really mine.. so beautifully done..sending love.❤❤
