I'd kind of decided that I didn't like *ANY* oracle decks, and I'd accepted that oracle decks just weren't for me... but then I've recently found 3 I absolutely love! :D The two Wisdom of the Tao oracle decks and a quirky little deck called The Citadel. I'm also using the Holitzka I-Ching deck. Definitely recommended all 3 (or 4) but very niche, and so seem to be tailored to my spiritual specifications. Also love the Magical Botanical and Bestiary/Herbiary, and always love hearing an expert's views on them.
I've always found Tarot to not need clarification at all, so I use the oracles first to establish themes if I use them at all. What has stood its ground as an oracle for me probably the most has been The Wild Unknown Archetypes for that reason. I've also relatively enjoyed The Cantigee Oracle, but that almost worked more like a bibliomancy tool for me because of the short story snippets written as its foundation. Other than those I use some Tarots more like oracles, like the Witches Wisdom Tarot.
I would really recommend the “spread machine Oracle”. It surprised me and is now my top favorite. And the next one that fits similarly is the “animal totems and the I Ching Oracle”
I loved hat when you shuffled the illuminated earth oracle cards and pulled a card, I was ‘connection’. Confirms the connection you speak of with this deck.
I like how you describe with so much details and precision your preferences and your experiences with your decks. thx for sharing. and your ring with the 2 stones suits you. what stones are they?
I love your videos so so much. Great deck choices as well. I just purchased the Lantern oracle, it was between that or Dark mirror oracle and I agree with you about having certain decks for specific purposes. I used to feel bad because I felt I needed to use all of my decks almost like everyday ones, however I realized that not every deck is meant to be an everyday-er (for me) and that’s ok. The decks for certain readings/purposes will be there for these instances and so I retired thinking I needed to be constantly rotating, if that makes sense lol. Great video, and that color blue looks gorgeous on you! Random, but you look stunning! :o) take care, Kate.
You mentioned shadow work several times in this video and you showed a couple of decks that you use for shadow work. I have been wanting to dive into shadow work for a long time but honestly I don’t really know how to do that. I was hoping you might be able to give me some guidance on how to get started. Do you have a video on how to do shadow work with tarot/oracle cards, or can you recommend books or other resources that might help me get started? This was a wonderful and informative video, as always on your channel. I’m super happy I found your channel.
My next video is actually all about shadow work. I don't talk a ton about card work in it, but I have follow up videos planned that will. It should be published Saturday morning :)
Always looking for a oracle deck with more than 60 cards in the deck,if you have an idea about the creators of some oracle decks try to put in a word,it's always more injoyable with more cards!
I love deck walk throughs, getting to see what others really like. I am super sad that I missed out on the Divine Muses....but The Divine Feminine is in my cart (had been eyeing it). Did you see that she just published her Mary Magdalene Oracle? Also, you mentioned working with a coach. What type of coaching and Were they local to you or someone online?
Great list, and criteria! Illuminated Earth has been on my list for a while, it's so beautiful, haven't quite pulled the trigger yet. Personally if I could only have one oracle it would be Woodland Wardens, it just works in basically any situation for me. Great video aa always 😊
Thanks! And yea, I really LOVE woodland wardens too, it's so beautiful and versatile. If the art in that spoke to my intuition the way Illuminated Death does, it would be my perfect oracle deck. There's just something about the way I can feel the illuminated earth's artwork, even if it didn't have keywords, that just puts it at the top for me.
Thanks so much! Quick question- do you use an oracle with Spirit Keepers Tarot. I love my SKT - and I keep trying different oracles - and nothing has fit for me :) if you have thoughts I’d love to hear :) 💕Thanks for all you share ! I love your videos
I have had some success with woodland wardens and Claire Mack’s two oracle decks, but I haven’t found it’s perfect pair. But I have mostly been using it alone trying to get to know it more. Eventually I’ll do a review and by then maybe I’ll have a better answer LOL
Exactly why would lunar be masculine? The moon is a barren, worthless rock that is the result of a violent collision between earth and another planet. The moon orbits the earth while the earth orbits something else. In this way, the moon is pathetic. Exactly what does that have to do with masculinity? As a man who is looking for Oracle decks to go with my tarot deck, I'm noticing a lot of Oracle decks have... feminiST (not the same thing as feminiNE) but... a feminist vibe to them which of course is off puting to a man in this modern era of anti-masculinity oriented, toxic feminism. Like why is it necessary for them to diminish men in order to uplift women??? Peep some ancient wisdom in comparison. The sun is the father. The earth is the mother, and we are the children their union produced... Do you see how beautiful that is? Especially for women. The earth is the most important planet in the solar system. Possibly the most important planet in the milky way galaxy, and potentially the most important planet in the universe! Because the earth produced life... And not just any life, but intelligent life. The sun is really just another star. One of billions in our galaxy, and our galaxy is one of billions of galaxies in our known universe. So the sun is just one of many many trillions of stars, but the only thing that makes the sun special, is that it is the only star in the universe that has earth! The earth is potentially the most special planet in all of existence, and the earth is the woman... The physical goddess that produces life and holds her children close... You see how beautiful AND ACCURATE, that is? But no. The author of that deck would rather the woman takes the man's place as the sun while men are shrunk to a meaningless moon? All the while she shuns her much more powerful crown of "mother earth" in order to do so...🤦🏿♂️... Lol modern feminism... I'm hoping I can find some Oracle decks that aren't gender specific or agenda driven in their imagery or written explanations. I'm tired of this modern battle of the sexes and divisiveness. We are all one. Men and women are two halves of the whole. Together we are "holy" (whole-ly). We unify to make a divine creation... Life! But hey, what do I know? I'm just a man🤦🏿♂️
Not sure what you’re on about but, there are ancient mystery traditions that consider the sun AND moon as feminine. Others believe the sun is feminine and the moon; masculine. Ie. The moon is the stoic keeper of time as well as humanity’s accumulated karma, it holds up the mirror to our emotions so that we may process/transmute them and ascend. It is also symbolic of what happened very early in humanity’s evolution, when the genders split. But that is some seriously secret, stuffed away teaching that most are not ready for. Hope you find something that works with your beliefs.
I will say right of the bat I agree with you on nearly everything. Even though I’m a girl I also detest the overt “feminist” overtones of a lot of decks. But! Rant incoming. Don’t hate on the moon. You are clearly uninformed on history or you don’t go outside. You are only calling it worthless because you don’t know it’s history. For most of human history we didn’t know the science behind the celestial bodies. The sun and moon appear nearly equal in size, and the moons phases were paid attention to closely for how it effected the environment in the ancient night that had no light pollution. The moon was EXTREMELY useful and even essential to travelers and anyone who wants to see. Sea farers still pay attention to the moon for its effect on the tides. You are pretending to sound smart by knowing how the moon was formed (congrats that’s middle school for you.) everyone and their mom knows that, but in tarot you have to learn the extra stuff! 💖Symbolism! 💖you haven’t taken time to learn the history of the moons function and deep importance to every single pre-Industrial society. You seriously don’t come off as informed and it seems like you are complaining about a nothing problem. Maybe the woman who made that tarot deck though that men were darker and more mysterious with their more stoic nature, maybe she thought of men in her life as illuminating darkness. You have no idea what her motivations are. And again, you are not informed about symbolism. That’s reallllyyyyy important in tarot. Tarot cards also have angels and monsters and all sorts of unscientific junk that is meant to be taken for its symbolic meaning. You really and I mean REALLY I cannot say it enough, look dumb when trying to insert science into tarot while simultaneously completely ignoring history and symbols. Wait till you hear about that Jesus guy, you know it’s not scientific for him to walk on water right? 🤓 Or Game of thrones, it’s dumb because dragons aren’t real, duh. The moon is only useless to you because you probably don’t go outside and see how big of a deal it is. As a snowboarder everyone goes out on the full moon because it’s one of the only times you can snowboard at night. Beautiful. I think men are beautiful, and cool, and dark, and guiding, and they brighten my dark times. Why do you think that the moon is supposed to represent uselessness? And why are you ok with that fake meaning applying to women but not men? If you can’t stop taking everything so literally then you are gonna have a hard time in tarot dude.

Great list. Recently started using the Queen Mabb deck and I really love it, also The Magickal Botanical is amazing!
The Queen Mabb one has never been on my list of decks, but people keep speaking so highly of it I might have to give it a shot!
I would really recommend the “spread machine Oracle”. It surprised me and is now my top favorite. And the next one that fits similarly is the “animal totems and the I Ching Oracle”

we have the same taste of oracle decks, 6/10 decks in your list are also in my top 10!
I love Woodland Wardens 🌿🤎
I love and enjoy the Journey ❤ Thanks Kate

17:21 please could you write me the name of the 2 decks? Thank you, great video 👍
A very nice list of decks! ❤
I love the southern Gothic and southern botanical

Divine Muses Oracle 😍 I also love the Antiquarian Tarot but sadly both are Oop. Maybe they’ll be a reprint someday fingers crossed.

Illuminated Earth not death 😅😅
@themysticinthewoods lol! Although with my taste in tarot and oracle I'd probably also be interested in the illuminated death oracle!
