  • We, Harry & Roelie alias Heart to Beat, cycled through Peru from end May till mid August 2024, in the dry season.
The trip starts at a small border town named Tilali, in the southeast at lake Titicaca. After cycling through a remote area we visited the old Inca capital Cusco and the Valle Sagrado. From there we did some huge climbs to get to Huancavelica and continued huge climbs on the remote gravel and dirt roads of the Peru Great Divide. The Divide contains a succession of +4800m passes. From Huaraz, after ending the Divide, we cycled though the Cañon del Pato. The trip ends cycling along the beaches at the north coast to the border with Ecuador.
More info about this trip and the route is on our website www.hearttobeat.nl and on Polarsteps under our names 'Roelie en Harry Morskate'.
