  • No pastor should be forcing anyone to stay married in case of adultery. You can forgive and remain married if you want to, but you are not obligated to. However, the spouse who was cheated on must forgive the adulterer if he/she repents and welcome he/she as a brother or sister in Christ, but no longer as their spouse.
    As Martyn Lloyd-Jones reminds us, “[The wife who's been cheated on] can divorce [her husband], she is allowed to do so by the Scripture... [She's not] bound to an adulterous husband for the rest of her life. She may choose to be - that is for her to decide [but] Scripture does not command it.”
