Johnny Depp trial - live: Amber Heard recalls meeting Elon Musk at 2016 Met Gala
Court proceedings in the defamation trial opposing Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have resumed after a week-long hiatus. As the break began, both sides issued statements expressing confidence in how the proceedings are going.
Heard is being sued by Depp for $50m for implying he ab*sed her in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed. Although she didn’t name him, he claims her allegations impacted his ability to work.
Direct examination of Heard concluded mid-afternoon on Monday and cross-examination has now begun. In her testimony, Heard has already spoken extensively about her troubled relationship with Depp and detailed alleged physical fights.
According to reporting by Law & Crime, Depp will also be called back to the witness stand as part of Heard’s case. The jury will also hear from Whitney Henriquez, Heard’s sister, and actor Ellen Barkin, with whom Depp had a brief relationship in the 1990s.

This trial and especially the women not buying Amber‘s bullshit has been so healing for me. I’ve dealt with a false accusation a few years ago from my ex who literally said the same things and use the same tactics as Amber. It’s so great to see people now believing facts and logic instead of gender.

She was homeless and didn't have anywhere to stay. He didn't want his children's mother on the street.
While she was staying with him. She got mad and call the police while he was at work. Told all kinds of lies. Three nights later, they show up and arrest him.
It was absolutely horrific!
He was very popular in the community. He gave as much time, money and volunteered as much as he could with all kinds of community projects.
She mentally and physically worked him over.
He's never been the same.

Yes. That was so telling. And the. "Why would it?" Meaning, why would her sending a photo to her friend of Johnny make her concerned about his reaction if he Found out. And if he was this "abuser" ,he would have kept a close eye on her phone.
I think it was a smart move to let her show the audience exactly who she is. This lawyer, with all due respect, is looking at this testimony as a lawyer not a juror. The jury is made up of you and me, the average person, a jury of your peers. The jury I've heard is a very young group. I think I heard the average age is 26, Camille is showing THEM who exactly Amber Heard is. I've watched the whole thing and Camille had her first throw her medical team under the bus 🚌. Then she threw her lawyers under the bus 🚌. Then she throws her sister under the bus 🚌. It's getting mighty crowded under that bus 🚌.
But seriously, she's showing the jury the narcissist that she is. Everyone is to blame but poor Amber.

The saddest thing about this entire ordeal is that even if she loses and has to pay 50 mil dollars and she gets blacklisted in Hollywood, essentially losing everything, she will still be the exact same person and she will always believe she is the victim and that she was wronged and she will not learn one damn lesson.

As a professional makeup artist, I would just like to note that you can in fact cover up a bruise at any stage it’s in, but you’re not covering swelling with anything. Her order in which she said she covers it up isn’t correct. She said she lays her foundation, then puts concealer then uses the color corrector which if she knew anything about makeup as she claims she does, she would know color corrector doesn’t go on top of foundation or concealer.

I'm a professional FX Makeup artist and I can create realistic looking bruising in 30 seconds...she kept a pallet on her so she could keep up the bruises when she needed to and wiped it away when she wanted to look good for an interview not thinking some day people would follow timelines to prove it was not real

How horrible for JD to have to relive this trauma. JD is doing men a great service. When I broke my silence about being abused, it felt like the abuse and physical violence replayed in real time. AH MIGHT have bruises, but nothing ties it back to JD other than AH word. Lawyers have to be careful not to appear to bully a “victim”.

You don’t know that she didn’t, which raises a question with the jury. You never know how 13 people are taking this. He’s right, Camille didn’t keep it as tight in some instances.

Camille Vasquez was brilliant! Amber Heard is a frustrating witness and Camille exposed her as the compulsive liar that she is. This was a beat down.

Amber arguing that "pledging" 7mil is the same as "donating" shows a glimpse of the craziness Johnny had to deal with. The Judge should have addressed the jury after Amber claimed she had pictures of her broken nose that ALL relevant information HAS been entered and strike Amber's BS.
In the morning during testimony she said that she was scared for her life and she barely escaped with it. In the afternoon Camille asked if she wasn't scared the monster would get upset if she shared photos with her friends (the ice cream photo to Rocky), and Amanda answered:
'Why would I be (afraid)?'

Another thing she said, is " Yay for mornings" reference to 4 lines of COC photo on table. Yay, yahoo is a term used to describe cocaine. So she was partaking. Her purse was there and 2 full drinks. I thought she didn't use drugs, hated them! But with all due respect, she became a Pro.

I think the way amber answered these questions really goes hand n hand with what the therapist had said about her making everything about her.

The telling part to me is the video she took of Johnny when he was slamming cabinet doors and pouring the “mega pint” of red wine. She’s obviously not scared of him and is, in fact, trying to egg him on and get him riled up in a passive aggressive manner. Would a woman terrified of their abuser and constantly walking on eggshells do that? Wouldn’t she be trying to avoid him or even be hiding?
Having survived childhood and domestic violence, if someone makes a loud noise deliberately I'm outa there! As fast as humanly. I've been free for quite a while now and know I'm safe, but I still can't bare loud noises and people slamming about and being loud.
@@sironagibson7252 I was abused by my first husband & want nothing to do with violence or anything close. I never wanted be anywhere near him. Anytime he was gone I was happy. To the point that I moved out of state after our divorce because even then he wouldn’t leave me alone. I had nightmares for years! My now husband has to wake me up, even now 40 years later, when I’m in a nightmare. I’m also claustrophobic from him holding me down or backing me into a corner. Then many years later after our daughter had died(he didn’t even attend the service) but a few years later he called & had the gall to tell me he forgave me!🙄

Did everyone notice she was dressed like Dr. Evil from Austin Powers? Lol 😂!!! Those scratches line up with the recoding (in Australia) of Dr. Kipper saying that AH’s only visible injuries were what looked like “self inflicted scratches on her left arm.”

Actually i believe it was Johnnys bodyguard who said that. But correct me if im wrong. I was under the impression it was his bodyguard Jerry Judge during that whole part later in the audio recording where i think hes on the phone and talking about Johnny sleeping and Amber being difficult and someone needing to fly with her out of there. And he also mentions how Amber was mad at him for telling Johnny about her calling johnny a fat old man. Yeah im almost positive it was his bodyguard. Amber had atarted to trust him and that whole scenario made her angry at him.
Correct. In the audio recording, his head security (who I believe was oh the phone with his sister, Christie.) mentioned the scratches to her left arm. The house manager, Ben King, also testified about them on the stand & strongly suggested self harm by saying how strangely uniform they were to be from cut glass.

I can’t imagine AH legal team being happy about her throwing them under the bus and blaming them for the pictures of her “injuries” not being presented to the jury. It’s just messed up because here they are trying to get her off the hook for her lying and you know they were probably begging her for some kind of proof such as pictures of real injuries that could be used in court and she just provided them with the pics of tiny bruises on her arm and cheek ( I get bigger bruises when I bump into furniture and doorways when I’m cleaning my house by the way) and than she goes and blames them for not using these made up pictures so everyone watching and the jury thinks her lawyers suck at defending their client. I’m a survivor of DV. When I finally got the courage to stand up for myself, I sure the hell didn’t go back to get a final hug (the audio clip July 2016). People reaching out for an order of protection aren’t going to subject themself to further abuse. If she was so “abused” why did she meet at the hotel? Why did she want a hug?
She wanted Johnny to have sex with her so she could have evidence of r... She tried to manipulate him. What's sad is in this audio record Johnny is heard saying yes he still loves her. Even after she lied about him and hurt him so deeply he still said he loved her.
The problem with everyone claiming to be a victim of 'DV' is that it bolsters liars like Amber. She (& other likes her) see people making dramatic statements, no evidence required just one's word that it happened, and that they were defenceless and not snarky, aggressive. Sp pls, enough of 'I am a survivor of DV' . Not now. It does not help.
So true.. I never had DV but I was a survivor of SA by my own ex bf.. after that SA I don't even want to look at his face at all. I'm disgusted even now after years it happened. I won't be able to hug my ATTACKER. I just want him GONE from my life. Amber clearly lied to the whole world. And I'm glad everyone can see her lies.
AH being the abuser wanted to control the situation. Isn't she the one recording the meeting, or is it JD? If JD consented to a hug, she might've had a plan in place. I don't know what. In fact, I think all women who have gone through dv should come out and say it and share why they believe Johnny and not Amber; it would teach us all quite a few things. I personally, as an ACTUAL SURVIVOR OF DV (and I use the word survive purposefully because I escaped with my life), have learned so much more about human behaviour and violence or abuse dynamics from the comments of those who have gone through abuse, whether men or women. It has been incredibly enlightening to see so many comments from men who have shared how their female partners were cruel to them just like Amber and the type of abuse they received.
I think your comment is quite judgmental and while you probably meant well, I think you are on the wrong. The more women and men come out and share their abuse stories and insights on this, the better the public will be. We will all learn so much more, through the shared experience of others instead of making our own mistakes.
I like the attack of Camille. She’s playing with Amber’s mind very well. She have learned her behaviour in the past weeks. 1st she will put AH own testimony and evidence as if she is acknowledging and believing all of it then turn around 180* and whack it on AH face that it is all lie by showing a concrete and coherent evidence that all make sense that even AH herself can put up and she’s on the dead end.
I can't stop re watching this, i agree camille watched her well on the stand but she also heard about her behaviour and reactions from johnny and the audiotapes before the trial and offcourse they knew about her disorders so they learned how to react to that
“I’m not wearing a stitch of make up” and later says that her daily routine is tinted moisturizer, concealer and tinted sunblock before ever leaving her bathroom.
Maybe she took the time to put on a bruise as well.
More like: “I got a restraining order but I want to hug you to say goodbye so I can possibly use it against you later..”
My sons ex did that , after feinging a restraining order against him , unfortunately their son was taken into care because they didn't believe him but she was mental ..the order was coming to an end she tried to make him break it by saying their child had died
I would LOVE to see real DV survivors standing outside courthouse in a long line holding in front of themselves, REAL photos of themselves with real evidence of abuse. Don't need to say a word just stand there holding real evidence.

In her sick mind she'd interpret it as people who support her rather than see it as exposing her. If the jury rules in her favor I can guarantee she will give a publicity speech on how truth prevailed.
I totally back this ,I'm a DV survivor dealt with a narc for 12 years and I really don't feel she acts like any survivor I've seen before I myself even after being separated from the narc for 2 years I find hard to deal with all what happened and I don't get how easy it seems for her to remember so much detail some stuff and to look and sound so confident I just don't get it
Her depiction of abuse survivors made me feel more like a victim than the actual abuse I suffered, we're way stronger than whatever the heck her poor performance is. It's infuriating, humiliating, disrespectful and I pray that she'll never get to live that down. Also calling her makeup a bruise kit and how ice hides swelling... girl, just stop. The abuse she's describing cannot be hidden, there's no magic "Amica" cream or ice in the world to hide that the day after. That's just not how bodies work, the hell.
I loved when Camille asked about dental surgery/dental reconstruction and Amber seemed completely confused
She’s asking because if you were beaten as badly as you claimed high chance you would have busted/chipped at least one tooth
Also as someone who was trained in makeup and cosmetology… that little 4 pan color corrector would not cover bruises convincingly.
You need yellows to counteract purples, purple to cover yellow… red to cover the greens etc and then a VERY full coverage foundation… it would be OBVIOUS someone was wearing that much makeup.
As it turns out, the cosmetic company Milani made a statement that the particular makeup concealer kit showed in court was not available on the market until 3 years later.
FINALLY SOMEONE SAID IT!! Thank you!! No amount of tinted moisturizer, and “amica” cream (😂😂) would conceal dark undereyes, let alone a bruise!! As you said it, it would require a HEAVY amount of makeup which would be VERY NOTICEABLE! (And still it would look grayish)
And no magical makeup to cover swelling lol. Ice doesn't work overnight.

@Rhythm Nation 2022 that really is up to the lawyer conducting the cross-examination. It's not unfair to AH. If a lawyer doesn't control the witness properly on cross-examination, the witness will have much more chance to explain themselves. That's just how the system works. The better your lawyer the better the outcome for you.
Amber's lawyer wasn't very good at controlling Johnny's answers during cross and Johnny was so polite and soft spoken, in addition to speaking very slowly that it was difficult to cut him off effectively.
I think from a technical point of view as a lawyer, he is right. We were taught not to try to make the final point by using a hostile witness in a cross examination. That never works out well.
You lead them up to a point where the jury knows what you're saying and then stop and make the argument later in the closing. That way the witness can't argue back and weaken what you're trying to do.
Atty Chris gave a very good example of that, when Camille was asking Amber if Johnny always wore big rings. Once Amber admitted that she always knew him to wear the big rings, that questioning should have stopped completely, and the point made to the jury during closing argument. You're never going to get the witness to say the final conclusory statement that because he usually wore big rings it's inconsistent with not having major marks on the face from blows to the face..... That's an argument that you make later to the jury.
I thought Camille did an amazing job. She got the points across. Everyone could interpret what was happening here. There was no need to drill to the last word. By allowing AH to speak more, you risk aggravating the jury. Instead, Camille allowed the jury to come to the very obvious conclusion but feeling smart while getting there, because they felt it was them that saw through her. In fact, only Camille from JD's legal team could do this. JD's team put up a female lawyer specifically so she could go even this far without looking like she was bullying the defendant.
My fear is that when someone else who really had been physically abused has the same explanations as Amber, an established liar, the cancel culture will automatically not believe a TRUE victim.
That is the most devastating part of this. Real survivors can sense each other out I feel.
Another question I would have asked....who cleaned all that broken glass out of her arm in Australia? In the audio...NO ONE....NO ONE....mentions Amber needs to be attended to. Yet they, Dr and Nurse, discussed the pills she needed to take.
If AH was banged up, they are bound by their oath...to care for her injuries!!!

Honestly, watching her start to lose it today with Camille, I'm kinda hoping that when the jury votes in favor of Johnny, she snaps and loses it to the point she's arrested
She looked more distraught when Camille got started crossing her then she has the whole trial like you could just read her face she knows her lies are going to be exposed.

I was watching another RUclipsr yesterday through this live. She's also an attorney. She said Camille was amazing and her approach was fantastic. It wasn't rapid so it gave the answers time to sink in with the jury whereas Rottenborne was quickfire and left no room for the answers to stick. I think Camille got this 100% correct!

The cosmetics firm stated that Amber's MAKEUP KIT, which Amber claimed to have used to conceal her alleged bruises, wasn't released until 2017, well over 1 year AFTER Amber said she had used it. The "Amica" cream issue was a completely separate matter. The laughable aspect here was that Amber's inept lawyer insisted on saying "Amica" cream. There is no "Amica" cream. It's ARNICA cream, named so after the alpine flower whose extracts are an ingredient in the cream, which is used as a topical treatment for promoting the healing of bruises and small skin lesions. But even ARNICA cream is not a miracle cure that can make bruises just disappear overnight.

There's actual testimony from a makeup artist who saw and did her up for the James Corden appearance, a day after an alleged attack. The MUA confirmed no visible injuries on her bare face, finding it puzzling that AH would declare pulling that off with her extensive facial injuries. Delusional. She's basically attempting to gaslight the court by throwing everyone who opposes her account of the events under the bus, distorting fact from fiction and burying it under mounds of extraneous details for the jury to sift through.
The photos I have seen of alleged abuse, look more like the aftermath of a coke binder... very dark circles under the eyes flushed skin etc.

Both parties have stated it was an intense (meaning passions are high in every sense) relationship (I’ve had one of those and was glad when it finally ended). I do not doubt for a second there was inappropriate behavior from both parties; to the sense that JD beat AH nothing seems to point in that direction. If anything AH was physically abusive to JD.
It’s sad to see this all aired in public ... some things should remain private. I think JDs motivation was to not be made a victim of false allegations in his career (from the recordings it truly seems like he loved AH very much) .. AH motivation seems to be money and possibly always has been. JD seems to be the cooler headed individual based off of the evidence.. despite being an addict, he def. seems more level headed.

One of the things I thought that Camille brought up that was a big deal but wasn't addressed in this video was that although Amber supposedly had cuts on her arms and feet from in Australia, she took no photos of them. She took photos of mirrors and lampshades with writing on them, but no pictures of herself with such gruesome injuries? It's not like she didn't have a way to take the pictures because everything was broken/taken from her since she was obviously able to take some photos.

I listened to the cross examination without listening to commentary from media etc and I thought it was devastating for Amber. She was totally exposed as a liar and if I was on the jury I would find in Johnny's favor. I am not a fan of either Amber or Johnny, actually before this trial started I did not even like Johnny. I've gained respect for Johnny during the trial.

The initial question about her being the abuser seemed very important to making sure it's on testimony that she denied being the abuser at all. Because if they can prove she did indeed abuse Johnny then they prove on record that she's a liar. It hurts credibility.

I just want to say that I have had a couple of bruises on my face in the past, which I tried to hide with quality makeup. First of all, it hurts like hell to put makeup on fresh bruises. Secondly they show through. It is virtually impossible completely disquise them. Beyond that, there is usually some swelling and makeup cant hide swelling at all.
And so, thinking this over last night i went into the bathroom and experimented with makeup to create a bruised appearance. It took less than 10 minutes with a little red lipstick and 3 shades of mauve and purple matt makeup to create a very authentic looking bruise on my cheekbone. I was amazed at how easy that was. I walked out of my bedroom and my son looked at me and said, "What happened? Did you fall?!" I laughed and said I was impersonating AH. He looked at it carefully and said, "that looks so real mom." Its that simple. I am convinced that if the cops had made her wash her face in front of them her "evidence" would literally have gone down the drain.
"A" seems to have an habit of taking Johnny and other people's words and use it for herself... Maybe that's what she was taking notes of the whole time... If you notice she was taking notes whenever she heard a 'big word' or an impressive wording or something impactful.

As for her claim that makeup covered up the brutal attack she described the jury, her makeup artist said she didn't see any sounds or bruises!

I testified in court that my dad, the aggressor, beat everyone into submission - even my mother, who said he didn't do a thing- and guilt ate away at me for years before I realized my 8 year old self was correct in telling the truth. No, it didn't make me popular or happy with my family but at least the lie was out of the dark and we (us kids) didn't have to hide anymore. I'm 36 now and I'd testify all over again. The truth will, in fact, set you free...

I am a DV survivor and this was 3 years ago and to this day I do not want to nor can I remember how n when the abuse took place let alone take pictures of the injuries. I can’t even look at then at this time. When u r abused you will not remember every single incident simply because it is traumatic n too hard and blurry to remember.

I was 8 the first time, that ended with us living with my aunt that beat us as bad as my dad, if not worse due to bruises and blisters on our back sides. And the second time at 14 that got us younger kids separated into different foster homes whom only had foster children for house keepers and manual labor. It taught me that even if you speak the truth, it's an up hill battle to defend the truth than it is to tell a lie. And I'd rather tell the truth even if no one believes me, any day of the week. I may have no one to prove it to, but at least I'm the one alive with a clean conscience, everyone else died of a heart attack or cancer. So, someone is looking out for me.

How can she comfortably sit in that position if she allegedly endured a SA with a bottle that cut her private area during the previous day?
