- Today, I will introduce the beautiful yellow and red autumn leaves of Nami Island in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do.
Although the location is Chuncheon, it is also commonly referred to as Gapyeong Nami Island because it is close to Gapyeong.
Nami Island is reached in 5 minutes by cruise from Nami Wharf.
It is famous for Ginkgo Path, Central Pine Tree Path, Metasequoia Path, and Ginkgo Path along the river.
The place where Jun-sang (Bae Yong-jun) and Eugene (Choi Ji-woo) first kiss, the main characters of the drama Winter Sonata, is popular.
It is also a place. You can also enter Nami Island by taking the ZIP WIRE from the Skyline next to the marina.
In particular, it is famous for its ginkgo leaves in autumn, and in autumn, it is a place visited by many people including family, lovers, and friends.
Nami Island is located 63km east of Seoul along the Han River, floating like a droopy leaf on Cheongpyeong Lake.
It covers an area of 460,000 square meters and a circumference of about 5 kilometers.

Nami Island was also on our mind seeing, we did a day trip that included also a visit to Petite Fleur, French Village. One thing we did not see in this video are the two types of squirrels they came close to those visitors who had a paper bag with mixed unsalted nuts and seeds we were able to buy as a fundraiser to maintain the island at a kiosk. Not everybody is aware and knows, we have plenty of kangaroos in Australia, but not a single squirrel in the wild! The last time we saw squirrels was in 1986 while in Europe. This was something very special to us Australians, they are really cute animals to watch. Autumn is the time were squirrels collect and harvest as many seeds, pine cones, and nuts to have enough food stored in their borrows to survive the winter as snow covers their natural food for weeks on end.
