This why I hate drifting in nfs heat, whoever designed the engine for the game was not thinking at all, your drift lines are predicted by the multipliers and if you try and get a good line, somehow the game will throw you into the barriers or some other shit, whenever I do a drift trial I end up just trying to keep the multiplier, but the whole point of drifting is for the line/angle of the drift and looking badass as hell, no car looks badass crashin thru barriers all the time

is that why trajectory sometimes randomly changes mid drift even when more sideways?
