Now do a vid on how influential and how much of a huge impact SpaceGhostpurrp/ Raider klan has had on soundcloud and modern hiphop and music in general, people stay sleeping on SGP’s creativity and innovation
A lot of my best friends went to high school with Denzel and whenever he's been in town for the last 2 years I've gotten the chance to hang out with them in Carol City. Denzel doesn't smoke or drink at all despite it being around him and he's super fucking intelligent and every conversation I've had with him has been incredibly deep and covers all kinds of topics. Really awesome dude
Medium D Speaks I can definitely confirm that. Was introduced to him by a friend in college like around 5 years ago and at the time I didn’t really know how big he was but I would go to a couple of his shows since I had friends as well were performing at those shows too. Dude is real cool, real intelligent like you said and he also has this great energy about him. It’s funny because I remember telling him casually he was going to blow up and now look, he really did!
This why denzel my favorite rapper and role model. He seems so chill and the way he thinks and how he handles himself, i look up to him and his music is amazing. I hope one day to meet the man who helped me through some tough shit recently
I started listening to Denzel after TA13OO and honestly, I'm feeling like a loser for this...He deserves recognition since 2016...No one took him seriously after the freshmen class and it shows. At least, he is where he deserved now, 2019 will be a monster year
one of your best vids imo, i really saw the passion you had for making a vid about denzel. Im not the biggest denzel fan yet, bc ife not gotten into him enaught, but you really inspired me to dive into it (even tho i always wanted to). I always have that with some artists, where ik i will like them if i dive into them but i just didnt did it yet (yall know that?). One thing i rly respect about him is his passion to help younger artists (and hes still young himself, he seems to rly get it, respect) since the Industry can be deadly without guidance. like he did with X n Ski. he rly pushed them to be as great as they where/are today. Billie seems to be the new one, i love that...
@@txbi6662 He is, but Billie is very, very talented as well. Although some of Denzel's early stuff was really good (especially Nostalgic 64 but he had a lot of stuff before that which wasn't that good), Billie just released her first album at 17 and it's not really on a much lower level than Taboo was. And in my opinion Taboo is Denzel's best album. Her EP isn't as good as Imperial, Zuu, N64, 32 Zel/Planet Shrooms, though. But her new album is pretty amazing.
Ben Dover yeah that’s kinda true, but if Earl whipped out some shit like he did on Really Doe or DNA, or if Denzel pulled some shit like he did on TA13OO, it would be fuckin heat
Da Bossman Really Doe or DNA from Earl went really hard, and he could keep up with Denzel if he did something like that on a song. Denzel on TA13OO was slow and thoughtful like the entirety of Some Rap Songs. See what I mean now?
in a interview after imperial he mentioned that taboo was gonna be more dark and grimy and that made me so happy dark denzel is easily my favourite version of him
Denzel was NOT in a good place on the light section. The light section symbolizes how much of his struggles he is willing to cover up with money and drugs, symbolized by dark lyrics but joyful instrumentals.
Man, X had a good taste in friends, all his friends are smart for their young age and instead of telling people they are, they just let people see it over time.
I first found out about Denzel curry when I saw his performance on 2016 xxl cypher. Then, I listened to taboo and was sold. Later, I heard his cover of bulls on parade and understood how much of a dynamic performer and artist he really is. Denzel is one of my favorite rappers right now. The man has the talent to carve out a career for himself that will exist long after the SoundCloud rap trend dies off.
I like how you say his begining music wasnt good but he was influenced by some of the most important groups to the rap scene. Three six mafia... Tommy wright... etc.
The mixed tapes were purposely compressed to sound like old Memphis records, that was the Memphis rap revival aesthetic which is now the entire trap sound. You should really look into making a video about Tommy Wright III or Three Six Mafia because those guys are pioneers of the sound. Or you could make a video about Blackland 666 or Mista Thug Isolation which are heavily influential for the internet rap culture. Any way great vid
You should do one on Yung Lean/Dod Mark/Jonatan Leandoer127 who many people consider to be one of the most influential and ahead of his time artists of the 2010s. He popularized a whole genre of visual art and fashion style. Aswell, sonically he was incredibly influential to many of the biggest rappers around today. You should also cover the extreme trauma and depression he went through in 2015 when he was stuck in the mental hospital for almost a year after causing the death of one of his closest friends and a beloved person in the music industry and was forced to move back to sweden and work in a factory. This trauma echoes heavily in his recent music and videos see "Miami Ultras" "Metallic Intuition" and his "Stranger" Short Film + Album. Yung Lean went from someone who was once considered a meme to someone who is incredibly respected among high art circles.
I get why Denzel got tired of the underrated comments, but the fact that he is never in the conversation for best rappers in the game rn still makes me mad asf. He's definitely on par with Kendrick, Cole, etc. lyrically and sonically imo, he's just a lot younger, which if anything, only makes that comparison more impressive
One of my favourite artists, so a few commenta 1. Imperial then Ta13boo is beyond legendary itself leaves him one of the best of his generation 2. Taboo itself my top 5 albums of 2010s (dark part of album has no bad songs no cap) 3. Watch his cave episode with kenny beats before listening to unlocked
Hey, really cool Video! Been a fan of Curry only since Taboo but I really started loving his work and I think you go in great detail when it comes to this true genius! Keep it up! :)
Just a quick note on Denzel's early music, the unpolished sound on his early work is quite deliberate, because a lot of Southern cloud rap at the time was very much Memphis rap inspired, characterized by dark lyrics, rugged flows and gloomy lofi instrumentals. Denzel eventually had to ditch the sound to break out of the underground though.

13 came before x's passing though.
X died by the end of june, taboo came out by the end of july
Tim K he’s talking about the 13 ep
Yeah somethings mixed up here
A K the 13 EP came out 2017, TA13OO came out after X’s death

The beat’s not the same.. I think someone just stole the melody

Billie is touring with Denzel. Not the other way around. Let's be real.
I mean, Billie is far more popular.
ElGiganto17
Billie is far less talented
@@gatsu6906 I like Denzel more but he doesn't have that much more talent honestly.
ElGiganto17 denzels one of the most talented new age rappers there is.
@@txbi6662 He is, but Billie is very, very talented as well. Denzel gonna change the game with a rock inspired album
Been waiting on one on Denzel
I’ve been waiting for this 🔥🔥🔥

As a big Denzel fan i really appreciate this volk thank you!
DUUUUUUDE Denzel X Earl would be one of the best collabs of ALL TIME
Shunk their styles could clash but it also it could be heat

no it really wouldn’t
Zel has one of highest energies during a concert it’s honestly beautiful
I love how you covered his story and this just makes me so much more excited to see him this summer!!
I had no idea his brother was tree!! He never seemed like he wanted to fight but he was a promising photographer and rapper
you said his early music was compressed and unpolished, them guys were making lo fi raps
POOOOOOMPLEX2 PHONK
I remember scrolling through sound cloud and seeing 13 and that's when i was mostly shown to this great artist.
We need the Danny Brown one. ASAP
I've never really been able to get much into Denzel's music but this video has motivated me to give him another try. great work
Now he has a ceritifed Classic Album

Just hearing the Zenith instrumental sent chills down my spine🔥🔥
Didnt even hesitate to click on the video

The animation and editing is getting amazing
This series is so good bro keep it up
dark side of TA13OO is probably the most hard hitting and deeply charged section of the album.
in a interview after imperial he mentioned that taboo was gonna be more dark and grimy and that made me so happy dark denzel is easily my favourite version of him
Do understanding Florida underground trap scene / members only. Such an iconic era no way you can’t cover it. 🖤

@@joaquindreyfus8007 i kinda think a lot of it is trash but its iconic for the new Florida rap scene so i respected it for that

I like how you say his begining music wasnt good but he was influenced by some of the most important groups to the rap scene. Three six mafia... Tommy wright... etc.
the rawness and unpolished sound in his old projects was intended referring to the underground memphis rap scene
