Howdy guys! Today I have a chill video for you. I spent the afternoon in the old factory to do some relaxing painting on the roof.
No music, no storyline, no fancy edits. Just me and two GoPros, painting in the old factory during the last sunny days of the year.
I've been craving some simplicity in my videos, especially after all those big projects and collaborations this summer.
I keep it with ‪@garyvee‬ "Document, don't create."
I'm looking to create more videos like this in the future.
    Thanks a lot for watching.

Yes, I love this kind of content, you know)
I myself sometimes like to make such videos, sometimes I don't speak at all.
I think the roof of this factory is an ideal place for painting canvases.

6:50 or so you talked about reminding yourself that you don't have to adhere to the reference photo, that you're free to do whatever you want. I am so guilty of this! My brain will slowly lean toward my art needing to be an exact copy of my reference photo. That will severely stress me over the course of the project. I have to remind myself that the reference photo is just inspiration, and my art is to be relaxing.
I very much enjoy that you talk to us; the audience. You're way further ahead in your art than I am in mine, you have many insightful things to say. Thank you.

    Great small talk! 🤙
    Question for another video;
You talked about sticking to the reference, and often too much to the reference.
How often do you actually paint without a reference? Like perhaps completely wing-it, or perhaps only do a very rough concept and then creating all the details from your imagination? What are your thoughts on it? 💭

This has more of an ASMR-feeling to it, compared to TenHundred for example, which is always flashy, lots of beats, much talking.
You definetly distinguish yourself from a lot of other artists by doing that I think, and I love it.
It maybe doesn't necessarily fit into your kind of content, but I'd like to get a few pointers on caps, like what to use for details on a painting like the size in this video.
how did you come up with your purple/orange colour pallette?
The rabbit-combo-wall with smoe and doke was awesome, maybe paint something in a similar style again...? ....Please
As a carpainter, the filters in your mask to watch out for, are the thick ones.
Basically you have particle filters (the thin ones you swapped) and active coal filters (thick ones), in short marked as P2 & A2.
The A2 filters react with any moisture, and once saturated, stop filtering. Since air has a lot of moisture, keeping them in a small container makes them last longer. They also just continue to spread the moisture within, so after some time, they're just saturated, and it can be tough to breath.
The P2 should really last a long time if you're just spraypainting in the open.

Thank you for the long and thorough comment. I usually keep my respirator in a box. I just put in the tote to carry it up the roof.
And yes I agree. I enjoy the more real, ASMR vibe videos as opposed to the big flashy productions (at the moment at least). And I think the feedback in the comments here proves: we're not the only ones!
I will put infos about caps and colours in my next videos. Didn't realize that this might be something people are interested in. And more roller work next time for sure. Can't wait!

Don't recommend any GoPro if you're filming in the dark a lot. Other than that, you can't really go wrong with it. @@JakesBeats

For someone that wants to start doing portraits on the wall in spray-paint technique, what would you recommend so the proportions gets done correctly? This is the first time I have seen your channel and I found out about it through BlackBean CMS. Thank You!

Use the doodle grid method. That's the fastest and easiest way to get the proportions onto the wall. I use it all the time. There's plenty tutorials here on RUclips. Enjoy the process 🙌

When you pick color schemes, do you have a design in mind first and then pick the colors? Or do you pick a color scheme and then choose subject

      @NickMoody  11 месяцев назад

I while back I kinda committed to only paint with these purple, pink and beige shades in my personal work. At least until I don't feel it anymore. It takes out the entire process of picking colours and all that nonsense.. I find it very deliberating.

It has really nice range of values… if you keep same colors it will create a very cohesive portfolio as you document your work for a season.

As a new sub 2 ur channel this is a really gd piece, I like how the lighter colors set the skin tones n lighting throughout the portrait. I will need to watch more of ur videos so that i am sure of the types of artwork u do.. Keep the videos coming!! Til next tyme...keep those cre8ive juices abrewing!!!

I too love this personal content. As a non-painter, the clack-clack of the balls in the paint can does get a little loud (intrusive?) after a while though! Not enough to make me stop watching!

It's cool to hear, that even people who don't paint themselves, enjoy watching these kind of videos! 😍
Yeah I agree, they tend to get a little noisy as they're getting more empty. My new mic setup is really close to the cans now.. that's why you hear them so loud.
I keep that in mind next time! 🙏
