I just love this technique and thanks for doing colors instead of the black to show us what it looks like. Your cards were lovely and certainly am going to try this. Thanks so much.
Oh..... 😉 This, I have to try today. My goodness Nina.... I just love these cards so much. What a great idea, to use colors for the, black out, technique 👍
Beautiful cards! I did this a couple of weeks ago purely as an experiment instead of black and I loved how it turned out! The black can be so harsh but using other colors really gives you something unique!!
Beautiful cards! I had not seen this technique. I have a couple of cards to make, so I'll give it a shot. Thanks for sharing your time and talents with me. 💜
I love the fact that I can just use a blending brush instead of trying to painstakingly color with markers or pencils! Great technique. Thanks for sharing.
I got to try Simon's inks at their Creation event this year, wonderful ink and the Simon vendors and demo people were so nice, I loved talking with them about inks and paper. I now have ink cubes that blend beautifully together and remind me of what a good time I had at an event.
Wow, so pretty, I am going to try this. I was thinking this form of blackout technique would be great with all my Christmas embossing folders, could use reds, greens. Awesome video, thank you!!!!
I love this & can hardly wait to try my hand at 1.... or most likely more than 1 providing there's success somewhere in the midst!! 😂 Definitely saving this video!! Thank you so much for sharing this!! 😊
Since getting my new SSS Embossing folders, I’ve been playing a lot with the recessed side. A will be trying this colourful blackout technique sooooooon!
For some reason I instantly disliked the cards when I tried the method - binned it as I couldn't find any use for it. This method could just be better and it is easier. Thanks for sharing ❤❤🎉
Thanks so much for watching our video! We hope it inspires you to create today! tinyurl.com/mr3rd9v9
Beatiful cards. Thanks for sharing.❤️
Painting the flowers with a tremor is impossible. Blending them is achievable!! Thank you, Nina.
Oh, good!
I could see the water and sunset on the first card. Lovely. I think I can do this!!!
You totally can!
this form of the blackout technique came out so nicely

Great video. Is it possible to share the link to the other blackout embossing videos you showed in the beginning of this video? Thanks.
Sure! tinyurl.com/3r9z92hu and tinyurl.com/5xrya6x7
Great cards! ❤ I am still looking for the right sandwich for the SSS 3d embossing folders and my platinum 6.....any suggestions please?!?
We find that it takes some experimentation. Try base plate, embossing folder, rubber shim, metal shim, a piece of heavy cardstock, blue plate.
Very pretty! This technique would probably work better w/ old school ink pads…felt? The harder ones😂
Not necessarily! Our Simon ink pads are foam and work amazingly.
Great idea! Suits my style much better than black!
For some reason I instantly disliked the cards when I tried the method - binned it as I couldn't find any use for it. This method could just be better and it is easier. Thanks for sharing ❤❤🎉
We're glad Nina gave you another option!
