The fact they even removed it just shows how impossible they want these cards to be. How this company is not being investigated for complete abuse and manipulation of their player base is completely beyond me.

As another Australian I'm going to assume that 99.9 percent of people also didn't wake up for EA content so we shouldn't see much Messi.
I usually wake up at 5am for work (content drop is 5am on east coast) and do daily login/new sbcs straight away but today was the one day I got up at 5:30 instead and missed it 💀

Every time you open the pick you get 3 players from 3 random leagues, and if one of the leagues happens to be mls, you are guaranteed to get messi. Because he’s the only 86+

This ruins the game for everyone that didn't get a TOTY Messi. Personally I didn't even had the chance to do him. This makes the game so unbalanced man. It sucks for the people that weren't home at that time, not saying that those who were home don't touch grass, but sometimes I can't be home at the content time and that can be the reality to many of us.
I've been grinding this game, did some league upgrade packs, all of the 82x20, 83x10, attackers, midfielders and defenders, even did icons and PP, everything without spending a dollar (€ euros in my case) and it sucks that I didn't even get an honourable mention, not even Ederson or Bernardo... there are even people in worst scenarios than me, people that saved packs for weeks and did the same as me and got 0 TOTY.
(Possible solution below)
Worst part of it is that the mistake EA did is almost uncompensable...
- They can't take Messi from people who got it because they haven't done anything wrong
- They can't give Messi to every people because there's people prior to this PP that spent a lot of money to get TOTYs, and specially Messi
- Only way I see is give people who did the PP and got nothing and for those who couldn't do in time a pack of good value or a TOTY PP 1of2 or 1of3, I know we would probably only get GK's but at least is a compensation.

The worst thing about this (which will not happen at all) is that the only fair solution is for everyone to have a TOTY pick o r something, because there are people like me who didn't had the chance to make the SBC because we weren't there in the moment. So it ain't fair for the people who did and didn't get Messi and for the people who didn't even had the chance to make the SBC.

as a new player to this game who got the game on sale a few weeks ago, i already feel so far behind other teams in division 7 it feels impossible to catch up. im already playing fully stacked icon teams and/or 5 TOTYs on them. i mean after 100+ games i haven't seen a single dude that started fifa in 2024 even though the game is on sale. this game has little reason for a new player to keep playing it so its no wonder the only people still playing a few months post launch are people that have been playing fifa games for years
Bro I started in December, I got a decent team without investing anything but time into it, but had to grind the menus and SBCs. Do the available 88 female player and 90 Xhaka, keep getting this type of fodder, soon you'll be able to put it into some SBC that is worth it. I packed Zico in a base icon SBC after getting 87 Kluivert, 87 Seedorf and 87 Veron. You're not always gonna be lucky, and it's gonna take some grinding, but grinding rewards and menus is about the only fun thing in the game.
@@FullstackDeveloper-hh9jw yea i've done probably all the same SBCs you have. i went for the 88 wildcard sbc and got butragueno who my entire offense goes through and if i didn't get him i probably would of quit a while ago.. my team isn't bad, but when u play against Best, Sawa, Mbappe, VVD and toty squads all day you can feel how strong their cards are compared to yours. of course im not very good at the game as well but it doesn't help that new players are an impossibly rare sight so most games don't feel like you have a level start

I missed it because i was 30 minutes late to my computer. I have opened 800 upgrade packs not a single blue, but now 25% of the teams are going to have Messi because of a glitch that only benefits them.
Deleted EA FC yesterday evening. I'm done. Never gonna play this crap anymore. Grinded hundreds of packs without any blues and barely any walkouts through full release. EA has fucked up the powercurve completely. No chance to fix this again.

i logged into the game just after content time. i saw the sbc, added it to favourites and went to do another sbc to clear my dupes. came back and the sbc was gone. i didn’t even get the chance to do it. those who did it and didn’t pack messi at least had a chance. that’s the sticking point for me. if i had done it and got something shit, fair enough. but i didn’t even get the chance because they removed it

They HAVE to put Messi toty as an SBC now. That is the only fix. They have to give the entire play base an opportunity to have him. Otherwise i’m not playing the game again.
Bad idea even if it's half price which it wouldn't be. They are going to benefit from almost obligatory FP spending to just finish that sbc as it would take ages to finish it. Plus the fact that all game modes are results driven while people that don't have that advantage will no longer be able to get the better rewards leading to even slower progression to the sbc. Then it snowballs and even more people will no longer be able to good rewards as more and more people complete using FP.

It happened with every thing, last fifa the tradeable hero pack and now this. Just seems super unfair that they make these mistakes. people benefit from them. and a whole other side of the players aren't even awake to try their luck at the mistake ea made...

The fact that i live in australia and by the time i wake up at 6am and see this information and they remove the pack puts even more at a disavantage even more so than the people who did the pack and didn't pack. Its bitter sweet living in Australia where it was 4am when this happened. On the one hand, I didn't get a chance for Messi, but on the other neither did anyone I will play against on the game.
The only real fair thing to do would be to give everyone an 86+ pick with the exact same odds.
Removing it doesn't change anything. If everyone had a chance to open it, that'd be fair.
