My next dog is going to be a whippet and I’m so excited! Your channel has been a huge help with my research on the breed, I’ve just fallen in love with them after volunteering at a local dog training facility.
Just a few seconds in : ''Are Whippets dogs?'' NO! most definitely not! They are more like a feline hybrid. Just settling down on the Sofa with mine after a long wet walk to watch this !
@@bronislava1551 trust me, more will be coming! You’ll say, but he/she needs a companion so they won’t be lonely when I leave them! Famous first words. 😏😅Consider what two do when you’re gone. Then consider three. Just saying…
Hahahah this is all 100% true! It should be mandatory viewing for anyone considering a whippet! 😂😂 ❤ ❤ I’ve been a whippet slave to two whippets since 2017, it is clear that I now live in their home as a guest lol. I wouldn’t change a thing! You are right, now that semi retirement is around the corner, I’m planning how to pull the trigger on my many times considered 3rd whippet… LOL. Great to see another vid🤘☀️😎
Yes, yes, yes and yes to all of it! 28 years in and it all still remains "the truth"! Pokey chop stick legs extend the full length of a bed. Thank you for making my day with your hilarious video. I love your content. Greetings from Oregon, USA!
I love your videos ! They are so inspiring and helpful and honest ! Keep up with them ❤ I would love to know about colors and their development over time . I love the white sand / Creme / striped look so much …. Especially with the big dark eyes. I will get a whippet soon when i feel it learned enough about them…. I would love to know how to find / choose a good litter breeder and what are good signs for healthy dogs and humans to choose from…❤
So true. We have had whippets since our daughter was 18 months old, she is now 38. Our latest is 15 months old & still a hyper puppy. Can relate to everything you say. Great bog.
In my household the snoot is referred to the cock nose, and thus the whippet is referred to as a cock nosed dog. Another function of the cock nose poking out the blanket is to received large amounts of countless boops and do nothing about it.
His name is Master, and he's black with a white patch on his chest.. He absolutely loves being messed around with, especially by visitors, and more than happy to engage the play stance at the slightess indication of play. His bite suppression is 110%, he might only lean his open mouth on you. He mostly sleeps at our feet, but sometimes he puts his head on the pillow like a human. He always curls his tail when he anticipates something. He makes sure to escort all guests in and out of the house from the front gate. I don't have time to write the rest of this thesis, get your own whippet!
My whippet used to be a bit of a sausage, now that she's back to a perfectly normal weight, we're a bit more indulgent. She has dinner at 7, dental stick for dessert. We started giving her some leftover after our dinner at 9 (mostly vegetables but sometimes a bit of meat). She's now actively campagning for "Second Dessert after Second Dinner"... thoughts and prayers appreciated :)
@@scottg.mcintyre1784 My girl is a terrible thief! She uses her 'chin' to jiggle down pockets and bags to find dog treats - She's a notorious thief- Whippet's noses are very good - and can sniff a hidden treat out from metres away. Ironically, as a puppy she wouldn't eat - and I dreaded her mealtimes. I think it was probably stress from leaving her littermates at 9 weeks- going from a house full of Whippets to being the only Whippet! I'd hand feed chicken breast, and scrambled egg and she'd just turn her head away. When her sister came to visit, she ate voraciously, so I'm sure it was emotional.
@@Oakleaf700 yes, ours was very picky, we found out that she just refuses to eat the same thing twice in a row, the breeder had the puppies accustomed to eating different things everytime so they might get used to whatever food they'd be served. She easily gains weight, but replacing treats by vegetables and longer walks helped with all that
@@jeanneteston9962 My girl arrived with a lot of puppy food- wet and dry - and decided she didn't like them. I have pics of her turning her head away and burying her nose in cushions just like a naughty toddler might. Seems it's not that unusual for them to be a bit 'anorexic' around food when arriving in a new home- especially if they are an 'only' dog. Vet said not to worry, and that her weight was fine. Now, I have to carefully watch her weight- after a walk today she stole a packet of ''Cheddars'' - I had to take them from her!
We love our almost 9 year old. We adopted her at 8.5, She runs around in circles on the second floor but will not come down the stairs to let us take her out. She peeks down the stairs at us and then runs around in circles. Still no accidents, thank goodness. Any advice?
Hi! I’m currently considering getting a whippet, but was wondering if there are any specific traits or pointers that indicate reliable ethical breeders. Thanks!
Hey! In one video you said you got one of your whippets from the Netherlands. Could you please share from who exactly? I live here and am looking for puppies.
Hey! You can contact the Nederlandse Whippet Club for more information on current or planned litters. There are some great ethical breeders there. Lacey's breeders no longer breed whippets, unfortunately.
The nose poking from under the duvet is just so whippet 😂😂

do it, and let us know
Also don’t worry, I’m getting the dog from an ethical breeder.
I only have 1 whippet - but this was funny!
Lovely story, beautifully told! Almost makes me want to go out and get my own pack of whippets! Thank you so much! 🐾☺️🙏❤️✨🫶🏻
The grass stained feet 😂
Calling a whippet a dog is like calling a rose a flower, or chocolate candy.
lmao
So so so true! 😀Enjoy the Weekend!🎉

You made me laugh ! That is 100% accurate. I have had 5, currently only 2, but I could have made exactly the same video about mine.
So true, even about the 1-whippet owners always thinking about ways of how to get some more whippets 😊

So did my Dobby!😅

Funny and true. My vet keeps trying to convince me that having males intact is a cancer risk. Do you believe that? I can't decide if I should neuter.
😂❤
I want black gray white male … TWO shades brown … white with brindle… female after I retire… 3years
