I am an american who had the honor to grow up in Tokyo. I love this game.... I started to play it for the 1st time in 10 years. This game is the beast.... Its so realistic. I played MLB the Show back in 2020, but i remember the game was so hard. Does anyone plays both? If so, which is harder. The great details about Japanese baseball games are that you can create the actual theme song of each player and let it play during batting!!!
Hakkyu No Kiseki means miracle/miracles right? From what I could find that's what it says. I'm just trying to figure out what the game mode he is confused about means. If it hasn’t been posted yet SFF is a splity. I have personally been to the Tokyo dome back when Yu Darvish was the starter and I’ll tell you what that was the best baseball I’ve seen in my life. The environment was what has sort of become the WBC for us now. Absolutely incredible atmosphere the drums, the music the beer being served to you in the seats just incredible.
This > MLB The Show It's insane how much content this game got. Insanely deep career mode, Franshise mode,season and even a High School Koshien tournament?!. NAH!. I'm sold i'm getting this one This game already out baseball everything MLB the show have to offer.
There are a couple things about the pitching in this game idk if you noticed. The dotted line under the strike zone is actually a meter showing the average pitch timings for the at bat that the batter is used to, so if you throw 3 fastballs it will be on the high end and the batter is more likely to be early on a changeup that is off pace. Also if you wait a couple seconds before throwing the pitcher will actually pick up the rosin bag which gives them a little extra speed on the pitch in exchange for using more stamina to throw it.
If you want the baserunners to run faster you need to be pressing R1 and L1 while running. Also I power swing at all times. Hard to hit a HR with contact swing.
Ive been playing the "power pro" series since 07-08. & being the only child growing up baseball was my sport i played, baseball, basketball, & football. If there was ever a game that was THAT game back in the day & even now. Its power pros. The same company that makes this game, its just animated baseball. The storyline the characters, the graphics, all of it is top tier. They only made two games in the US. 07-08, i still have it on my ps2, & downloaded it to my ps3 its that good. I even started buying the games from Japan when i found out i could, & they continued. I use a translator app to play the game & read the story lines. I play a great game & learn a language at the same time. The development was ahead of its time. It blows MLB the show out of the water, with how in depth it is. Its the type of sports game you'd dream of them making over here. But, were stuck with cash grabbing developers. All they care about is micro transactions, not making the game better. 2K is a perfect example, & so is EA.

In 2017 I was in Tokyo for 17 days! An absolutely amazing time! One of the things I attended was a baseball game there. Hiroshima vs the Swallow, at their stadium in Tokyo. (the Giants -who play in the Tokyo Dome didn't have games there when I visiting). Baseball hasn't been the same. I got to the stadium about 4 hours before the game to buy my ticket. I wasn't expecting a more than 6 block line to get into the stadium though. Every time a player comes to bat, they have a song they sing - every player has their own song that the crowd sings while they are at bat. You could also leave the stadium and grab food and beverages from vendors outside of the stadium. Great Great Experience - if you haven't gone to an actual game there - DO IT!! you'll have a blast!!
I think I would love a franchise or some sort of semi-extended content from this. This game always looks amazing visually, but we only get the one video a year

So konami used to make an american version called mlb power pros back on the wii and ps2. It seems extremely similar except for player models. Couple things to note if you keep playing this. The smiley and sad faces are condition. If its the same, worst to best was purple, blue, yellow, red, pink. Basically give you better/worse hitting and pitch movement/velo. Also the colors on the left by the player names indicate position. Blue is catcher, yellow is infielder, green outfield, red pitcher. At the end you did catch on you can have multiple pitches in the same slot so pitchers can have more than 5 pitches in the game. Lastly, in power pros, they had trajectory as a stat which was number based 1-4. I didn't see it in this one but your home run hitters are gonna be 3-4 if they are. Hope you do keep playing and that some of these tips may help

21:00 yeah man you got it! in the Yakyuu games the pitch selection is arranged based on the spin/break, so sometimes when pitchers have multiple pitches that break the same direction, they end up stacked like that. SFF = "split finger fastball" (i have no idea why they use english letters for this one) and yeah the other one is changeup. TBH for any new players reading this, i wouldn't bother trying to translate all the pitch names, the game seriously has ~30 pitch types, just trust that generally fastballs are at the top and breaking balls on the bottom/sides and you'll be fine!

To anyone new on this game: Bro, i just bought the game, i used to play the old versions like you did. The game is absolutely crazy, it's soooo god. Let me tell you somthing, you can put an aiming at bat assist in the settings so you can hit the ball better, it's made for the gamer that can't put the ball on the barrel of the bat all the time with every pitch, but there is another option, like in MLB The Show, you can choose batting modes, either zone or timing, and let me tell you, using timing mode does all the job for you, it's so much better than in The Show, so you just have to worry for pressing the good pitch in the correct timing, and you won't have to worry about trying to hit the ball in power mode or normal ball. In case you are using the zone mode and you try to hit homers with players that ususally don't hit homers even with power mode, you won't get homers, you need to use it with power players that can hit home runs. I just put the game in pro difficulty, put the timing batting mode, deleted all help, and put the ball speed almost in real timing. Now the game is Fantastic, MLB should copy accople of things from this game. Beating the com is so difficult when it's about of pitching.

I used to buy this game when I lived in Japan years ago, back then I think it was called Pro Yakyu what-ever year it was. It was a difficult game to play with the language barrier BUT once I got used to it, it did become a lot of fun & back then (Mid to late 2K's) they had all the actual Japanese ball parks plus advertising to include Japanese alcoholic beverages in the game...
I would love to see a game like this that is a high-level depiction of the LLWS. Entirely made-up kids, with realistic abilities for the level...but capturing the fun of the game. I feel like Japan would be the place to make something like that

This was great! Reminds me of playing Japanese World Series Baseball back on the Sega Saturn in the 90's. We learned all sorts of great Japanese words like KUSO! when an outfielder dropped the ball.
5:37 highly recommend reading the book the Arm- it’s about Tommy John surgery but there is a really interesting section about Japanese pitchers and the insane number of innings some notable pitchers have thrown at the Japanese high school tournament called Kōshien. The best comparison is march madness for high school baseball.
There is a Nation wide tournament in Japan every year in Osaka for High School baseball … and it gets serious High School baseball you basically live with the team and practice all the time … plenty of videos on RUclips to learn about how intense it is … the high school tournament is so big the professional team doesn’t play in the stadium during the HS playoffs
You can even pick up the rosin bag! and throw any pitch faster then the pitchers usual speed but control does come to effect. Last out of each inning you can decide in the outfield to throw the ball into the crowd so many small details this games has. MLB the show needs to take notes. The details to the crowd is insane, I saw a fan sitting down with his sushi 🍱 meal and sticks! So many settings to your liking ‘difficulty’. This game has real pitch speeds and pitch movement if you want more advanced competition! Bat sensitivity etc. Over 8 different types of shits and you dont have to pause the game so online your opponent wont notice.
Waiting on mine to arrive! Looks great now and is supposed to be enhanced in some way on PS5 Pro. Been playing this series since Pro Baseball Spirits 4, it has always been my favorite.

This was great! Reminds me of playing Japanese World Series Baseball back on the Sega Saturn in the 90's. We learned all sorts of great Japanese words like KUSO! when an outfielder dropped the ball.

5:37 highly recommend reading the book the Arm- it’s about Tommy John surgery but there is a really interesting section about Japanese pitchers and the insane number of innings some notable pitchers have thrown at the Japanese high school tournament called Kōshien. The best comparison is march madness for high school baseball.

There is a Nation wide tournament in Japan every year in Osaka for High School baseball … and it gets serious High School baseball you basically live with the team and practice all the time … plenty of videos on RUclips to learn about how intense it is … the high school tournament is so big the professional team doesn’t play in the stadium during the HS playoffs
You can even pick up the rosin bag! and throw any pitch faster then the pitchers usual speed but control does come to effect. Last out of each inning you can decide in the outfield to throw the ball into the crowd so many small details this games has. MLB the show needs to take notes. The details to the crowd is insane, I saw a fan sitting down with his sushi 🍱 meal and sticks! So many settings to your liking ‘difficulty’. This game has real pitch speeds and pitch movement if you want more advanced competition! Bat sensitivity etc. Over 8 different types of shits and you dont have to pause the game so online your opponent wont notice.
2 versions of ichiro suzuki 1994/2000s all japan mlb players ‘overseas’ and even legend coaches you can play with/as.
