A fully acoustic archtop is my instrument of choice, so naturally I always love to hear the sound coming straight from the guitar. "Prince" makes a great song choice to show off that beauty's tone.
What’s the model and specs? Beautiful! I’d also love to hear you play an acoustic oval hole arch top! I can only imagine how good you would make one sound!
Very nice. First time i heard that tune being played was Martin Taylor with Julian Lage. It's worth a listen. Julian plays some sweet improv on that one.
Love it. I just bought a new (to me) Eastman last weekend. It doesn’t sound as full as a Martin Dreadnaught, of course, but goddamn does it have a sweet acoustic tone. Have you ever played with a hybrid sound? (Acoustic and processed signal combined.)
I don't like the acoustic sound so much for the music I play. This sounded nice but if I go by the sound I hear in my head then it isn't acoustic at all, that's not what I want to hear. Obviously that is just for me, Iike what people like Tim Miller does with it, but that is his sound.
This is exactly how Joe Pass recorded the Virtuoso albums. Source: interview from Down Beat or Guitar player (don’t recall which one I read). I didn’t like the sound. Too thin.
True, that is indeed how that was recorded. I am also not a massive fan of that album, but his 175 also does not have the acoustic presence of this guitar 😁
@@JensLarsen I didn't mean you hate them, but I think you expressed a strong preference for semis. Anyway, my recollection of the video may be wrong. It's been a while.
@@vecernicek2 I am not sure what you mean then, maybe you could explain that? My main instrument is a semihollow, but I don't think that means that I don't like (or hate?) Teles, Archtops or Grand pianos even if none of those are the instrument I play the most 😁
I don't think achtops make beautiful acoustic sounds, and thinking that they do is what's wrong with most jazz guitar tone today. That's not the sound I'm going for. Pat Metheny, Jonathan Kreisberg, and Kurt Rosenwinkel agree, to name a few.

What do you think about the sound? 🙂
I'm enjoying that arrangement of "Someday My Prince Will Come". I wish there was more!

Thanks Elizabeth!
Sounds beautiful. I've been wanting a vintage acoustic arch top for a while
Glad you like it!

@@blacjazzz it's a Heeres Montreal. I don't really know anything except that it is a Kent Armstrong pickup. You can check the Heeres website
Lovely playing and guitar. I always liked the Chet Baker version.
This Acoustic Tone + Dark Tube Amp = Perfect Jazz Guitar Sound
except if you have to perform for more than 10 people 🙂
Yes, I'm just thinking about playing in a studio setting.
Sounds so beautiful
I’ve been almost exclusively playing my new gretsch archtop acoustically for the past 2 months! I’m addicted to this sound
Some of your most sensitive playing....technically dynamic and articulate, with each voice clear and distinct and played with purpose.
First jazz tune I learned !
Nice sound and the candid non camera Jens is comfortable watching and goes good with this ballad / song. Excellent
Like all your videos 😊
Thank you very much!
Beautiful tone ❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you like it!
gorgeous man. love your artwork
Thank you very much!
Wow that's a really beautiful guitar...😮😮
Certainly is! 🙂
So beautiful I could listen to that all day❤
Thank you!
Amazing sound for a semi-acoustinc without amplification. Of course not a lot of bottom but very precise for practising

Your right thumbnail is a precious resource! Guard it well!
Thank you! I am actually pretty luck with having strong nails 🙂
Im trapped in this magical loop. I am enchanted
Lovely !
Sounds great. Love the playing style,Jens. We should be best friends!! I’ve got a Godin, also from up north, which also plays like a dream.
Thank you!
Needs a huge distorted 808 sub, 200 bpm blast beats and grindcore vocals!
Great!! *Also fun fact. The original key of this song is in G major. Try it there for new chord options! And it lays great in that key on guitar
That's indeed also a nice key for it 🙂 A friend of mine always want to play it in G, I think I actually prefer Bb personally 🙂
Yes it does sound great acoustically! I like to put a mic on my semi hollow body just to get a little of that sound.
Someday my prince will come
Remind me of when I first walked into, Disney world land 😊❤
Lovely tone - bit of a challenge to play I bet.
Thank you! It could be set up a bit better, but Ricard told me it still needs some adjustment since it is completely new
sweet
Thanks George! Hope you are well! 🙂
After my guitar this sounds like I switched from monochrome tv to 99999 color plasma

wrong title for this tune... great sound. are u using effects or is it just reverb?
It's just the camera mic, there is no post production, and my speakers are off.
@@JensLarsen sounds great.
Someday jens larsens Will come ?;)
Pretty, pretty…seriously.
Wheres the tabs for this beauty
Does anyone else get the sensation that Jens carries an aroma of warm cocoa and cherry pipe tobacco?

Release? as on Spotify et? No, not really 🙂
Sounds great, but i wish the camera just showed your fingers so i could steal your arrangement!
Thanks!

I thought you didn't really like fully hollow archtops?
Did I say that?
@@JensLarsen I remember your comparison video between your semi and a 175. About a year ago, maybe? Seemed like the 175 didn't really do it for you.
@@vecernicek2 but that doesn't mean I don't like Archtops. Isn't it a bit of a stretch to draw that conclusion?
