- When it comes to regulating global temperatures, forget the Amazon Rainforest. It’s the oceans that really deserve the title of lungs of the planet. Their plankton provides us with oxygen. Their currents transport heat from the tropical regions to the poles, acting as an air conditioner. They absorb almost a quarter of the carbon dioxide emitted annually.
But, so much of what they do and exactly how they do it is still unknown. To gain a deeper understanding of the importance of oceans in regulating our climate, we bring you four stories from four different corners of the world. From the seaborne lives of the Bajaus of Asia to the scientific crew of the ‘Tara’ in Greenland. From the meteorological station in Siberia to the fishermen of the gulf- stream. Four people. Four seasons, Four stories told in parallel over 24 hours that reveal the sometimes invisible ties between man and the Sea.

GOD BLESS THOSE PEOPLE💗💗
Victor silver..(the man fishing for squid) so much wisdom in him.. i hate how these things r affecting him and his family so negatively.. his voice should b heard.. just like all of them.. the negative ways in which we have affected or planet makes me so sad inside.. we should push harder for changes.. this is the only place we have.. we cant go anywhere else.. even if we could, we shouldn't.. cuz then we'd just screw it all up too.. *nothing gets n the way of progress*
Yes his concern is genuine, he sees the changes and is smart enough to know why it is so.
His name is Victor Silva😊
It’s is important when viewing videos like this to question where its sources are from! A lot of the beginning information is something no one on this earth knows yet and is still one of the many theories of how the oceans and world formed!
Nice footage from "Rise Of The Continents" (BBC)
How can people complain about ads after watching how poor people live? That man looks emaciated. Jeez.
Nature videos cost a lot to make.
All nature videos have tons of ads,but they are the most beautiful videos. The videos are free. You can find documentaries about families in poor places with no running water and children at age 6 have to row a canoe (that they made themselves) for two hours to school and two hours back. They have to set up traps for food on their way and have to practice swimming in 15 degree waters before school. If it rains, theyre screwed.
The point is:
QUIT COMPLAINING ABOUT A FREE VIDEO. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WATCH.
Also, Netflix added a ton of free nature videos recently.
⁵
we have come to the point where new kids don't grow up with television and think they have rightful control over anything they can see and post, regardless of how the world works.
No way catching all those squid is sustainable
At 29:30 Victor thinking of generations yet to be, that he'll never look upon. Again at around 47:00 he expresses his concern for the future and how he is displeased with the damage that some attitudes and activities have caused. Why is that so hard for so many policymakers?
They only have look forward how to get reelected, and after that, how to get a job in high finance / big business /industry or perhaps if so inclined, in universities & think tanks. Only in retirement, one starts to see some wisdom in them, but then of course they're out of means to inflect major changes
"It won't be the end of the world." It's the end of mankind that's worrisome!
Exactly
Well that was a missleading title.
This documentary is more about fishing than climate. Retitle it
wow I am NO.1
No.1 moron .. don't come on here spreading your viruses ..
Uh too many ads .,, that just ruins it all !
You can download to avoid ads
Doesnt work on my tablet.
Way too long below deck. Can that affect your lungs?
Why is this secret if this information is being told
I like this but some of these videos are just too depressing.
Those corals look dead.
I agree is depressing but this new technology creating Tesla cars instead of economical cars for everybody to take care of the environment I just don't get it why do expensive cars first?
In expensive machines, they can factor in the cost of experimenting with unknown techniques. So rich guys pay for the development of new gadgets, to later benefit the less well off. Always goes like that. CD players started out at over 2000$, came down within some years, and flagship phones always have the new features later found in midrange. They just need to develop techniques and the economies of scale. In my region, price of electric bikes have almost halved over the last years - thuogh my cheap phone never got that top of the line camera flagships have
To many ads to keep watching
I hate when people say four corners of the Earth
north south east west
@@mrmustangman yea I get it but there are no corners

20% of mammals are gonna disappear by 2050 😢 meanwhile human population has crossed 8 bln!
Is that a Mexican there every where
He's in the water not on the water
This is just a load of silly anecdotes. I'm none the wiser to how the oceans regulate climate.
More adds than doc, how pathetic can you get
It's pathetic when someone doesn't know how to spell ad. 🤔
How can you complain after watching how these poor people live? Pathetic! All nature videos have a lot of ads. They are expensive to make.
i just bought a carload of bituminous coal on ebay and i'm going to burn it in my backyard tomorrow.
Who is the freaking narrator?
GOD made all things. Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son of GOD made ALL things.
"Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things." Romans 1:19-23 KJV
