The reason why the days in P5 seem so short is because they are: school in Japan ends around 3:15 in the afternoon, some days even later, and it takes time to go places with the train. So you exit school around 3:30 at best, then you have to wait for the train to arrive. You arrive home at 4:30 pm if you're lucky. Dinner time is 7ish pm, earlier in some areas. This game looks like a fan made porn game of their own game. Like, they had good artists, but threw out all their main art and kept the fan's porn drawings.
The real story is a randomization of it all. Most of the Skullgirls heads outside Mike were in fact erotic artists, but after getting rid of Alex Ahad, the head artist and creator of the designs, and cleaning up their acts to appeal to Californians, they don't have an actual core to work out the game. Which is why everything is somehow overdesigned and underdeveloped at the same time, NPC even having different lineart than the initial ones.
God I'm really sad they talked so much about the game's poor pacing but they stopped JUST past the part where the big established villain is killed off, like, half an hour after you meet him and his army basically never plays a part in the story again.
It does seem strange how much effort they put into character design, only to give the environments almost no character or recognizable landmarks at all.

The games that bum me out the most are the ones where the basic concepts like story and characters were screwed up from the start and everyone else involved tried their best. It's like seeing a really beautiful house but it got constructed on a sinkhole and the foundations are just duct taped together
This game has pretty great art design shame the plot was just someone elbowing jrpg cliches into a blender, and the dialogue is written like someone's trying to hammer in the plot with a boulder Everyone always just says what they're thinking, it's like the opposite of kingdom hearts writing. It's why it's really hard to say I don't like this either, but it's like too far in the other direction where the game doesn't let anything be subtle
I know this is really late, but entertainment as a whole has definitely been taken over by constant girl power and diversity politics if that's what you mean. Plus people who are that out-of-touch to support that kind of thinking usually make the same generally bad writing decisions. As someone who remembers how it was pre-2010s I know that most gamers don't really care about identity stuff like that and will play anything as long as it's fun. However, if you look into the full details of what brought Lab Zero down you'll see a familiar story of woke overreactions, which goes to show that even when woke people reach a certain pinnacle of success nobody is safe. In fact, that just makes you more of a target because one of the defining aspects of wokeness is bringing down anyone who is doing better than you are for the sake of "equity" and virtue signaling points.

Tons of personality but getting stuck fighting on weird geometry only for the fight to abruptly end when someone falls and never knowing if a collectable saved if you fall into a pit long after even if you save at a shrine sometimes. I never know where it will land me after a game over or a failed jump. I'm still enjoying it on the switch but it's clear where corners got skipped
@@doubleg281 The story also felt like it ended rather abruptly without any setup for the type of ending they did.
@@LanceThumping their is something exhilarating about getting a reply 10 months later. You just made my day! I have so many memories flooding back in now
The games that bum me out the most are the ones where the basic concepts like story and characters were screwed up from the start and everyone else involved tried their best. It's like seeing a really beautiful house but it got constructed on a sinkhole and the foundations are just duct taped together
This game has pretty great art design
shame the plot was just someone elbowing jrpg cliches into a blender, and the dialogue is written like someone's trying to hammer in the plot with a boulder
Everyone always just says what they're thinking, it's like the opposite of kingdom hearts writing. It's why it's really hard to say I don't like this either, but it's like too far in the other direction where the game doesn't let anything be subtle
...you know what, you didn't complain about the gameplay, I'll take it. Yeah, the story... could definitely be better, more subtle.
Was i the only one getting Anita Shartkissian vibes from this game? or im just jaded at this point? LOL
maybe a little of both, I get it though I've played the game the whole way through and I got that feel here n there
I know this is really late, but entertainment as a whole has definitely been taken over by constant girl power and diversity politics if that's what you mean.
Ding Dong?! What are *you* doing here?!
I think Cory may have complained the most during this entire playthrough... but he almost never complains... DOT DOT DOT.
