I have been chicken-scratching for years now and when I look at other artists confidently drawing lines without the need to go back and draw multiple lines to outline their shapes, I get really jealous. But like most things in life, it all comes down to how much effort you put in to change your habits.
I set up this challenge for myself, where I forced myself to only draw single lines to define the object's shape. No underdrawing or light pencil drawing. I am only allowed to use an ink brush in Krita and only single lines. (Great exercise for Isometric Game Development)
After this exercise, I feel more confident when I draw, but sometimes I still tend to chicken scratch. As soon as I realise that I remind myself to use only single confident lines.
I recommend you take up this challenge too. Please let me know how your session went.
