The Prem is the tightest league in the world. Injuries aren't excuses, they are genuine contributing factors. Look at City, they started the year on fire and every commentator in the league was asking if anyone could challenge them. They lose Rodri and their entire structure started to wobble and now they've lost 4 on the bounce. That's off one player. Spurs don't have a title winning squad yet. But having key players across attack, defence and keeper all out means they are playing far lighter than the likes of City. Spurs will be lucky to go top 4 this year, but I don't see that as a bad thing with wider context. Playing the kids they are now will limit their success, but it will mean in 2-3 years they will have a block of 22-24yr old players who fill out their squad who will drive success. But in the modern world of wanting success yesterday, pundits and fans, don't accept what has been a reality for the history of the game. Success is built over years, not weeks. The gap from the prem to the championship is certainly bigger, but for the most, the gap from the top of the championship to the bottom really isn't that big either.
It's not uncommon for teams playing in Europe to be inconsistent, especially when their games are on Thursdays. They should be beating Fulham, Palace, and Ispwich, but I'm not surprised by Ange's comments. It's not like he's going to come out and publicly criticise the players.
The rest of the squad should be good enough - injuries are not an excuse - it colours the approach to the game yes - I mean Man City had their own woes
since joe lewis bought the club 24 years ago he hasnt given levy a single penny to buy footballers not only that he stopped levy from borrowing money to buy footballers all while no money was being generated at the old lane.
When are people going to realise that consistency is a measure of how good a team/player is? Anyone can have a good game or good moments but doing it consistently is what separates decent players with the best players.
Am I missing something, last week spurs got their lead and then sat back, everyone behind ball and countered , I remember laughing during game because I thought about the so called all out new style of football Ange supposedly play
Tbf to Ange I think he was referring pragmatic to holding on to what they gave in a game, holding back, not pushing to get more goals, being a bit more defensive, whereas he is saying, if they did that they may not have got the city result, because I think in his eyes, attack is best form of defence. He sees it as keep going and be relentless and that was opposition cant get the ball and if they keep going they can put the fame to bed. The only trouble is, this relentless style needs good squad, and also in PL there are good defences and so if your not clinical and get enough goals like 3 and only get 1 or 2 goals, then your likely to get caught on counter or set piece and throw game away, because attacking relentlessly doesnt always come off, close ball and players up the pitch, your in trouble. Or a foul, free kick, or corner can result in goals easily in PL. I understand his philosophy, but not sure spurs will ever have the players to carry it out in the PL. Our players are Ronaldo's, Messi, who can score for fun
"Closing people down" in the 1970s is not the same as the orchestrated pressing of today. The tactical element of the game is completely different now. It's a sport of systems far more than it's a sport of individuals. You've always needed quality players, but the level of detail that goes into preparation would make Cloughie's head spin.
We have so many players that are good enough to play in PL or Europe to take the pressure off the team but for some unknown reason they never get any chance.
Problem with ange seems to be that when it works it's magical, and when it doesn't it's a disaster. Why can't you do balanced? Ange is demanding a kind of perfection that I don't even think is possible week in week out playing his style of football. Maybe thats doable in a league where one or two good teams exist, but not the premier league.
It is in the managers and coaches interests to complicate the terminology and understanding of the game because it helps justify their massive wages. The players are the game, not them.
Another another meltdown please just let Ange manage it’s mental gymnasium 😂😂😂😂, about 8-9 teams in the league are inconsistent it shows by the 3-4 points gap between teams in 3rd -8th. Simon waffling.
Pundits try to make football sound like rocket science. How many different ways can there be to play football. You basically kick the ball in their net more times than they do to you. It’s not that complex.
Spurs fan here and I'm over Ange. He laps it up when people are praising him for his adventurous style but he's precious when he's criticised. I don't agree with him that entertainment is everything. Results are important too and my club isn't so successful it has the luxury of putting entertainment over winning. Grinding out results isn't ugly. It's essential!.

FFS, Spurs lost Vicario after the Man City game. They play Roma mid-week with a makeshift centre-back pairing of Dragu and Davies, who both played superbly. Then, they back up a couple of days later against Fulham. Before that, Solanke pulls out with illness, leading to a reshuffle of the forward line. Spurs aren't Man City, Liverpool, or Arsenal, who have the experience of playing in Europe, Cup, and League games year in and year out. Look at Newcastle, who struggled with the same schedule while dealing with injuries. Villa is also showing signs of struggling to maintain their performance level with the additional workload. If you look at the table, Spurs aren't in a bad position, and with one or two wins, they could be in the top 4 with favorable results elsewhere. It's a funny season; Spurs aren't alone in winning one week and losing the next. The only team powering along is Liverpool, and dare I say, Chelsea.
When Tottenham Hotspur win its because of the other team being poor on the day. When Spurs lose or even draw it is apparently a crisis and the manager doesn't know what he's doing.
Spurs don’t have the depth presently to afford all the injuries they have suffered. Most of that blame rests at the feet of Levy. Get the right players in and Spurs will fly.
Well Simon , for Spurs to be a serious contender , your buddy Levy has to invest in some top players for the here and now , not for the future , just like all the other “ contenders “ , until then this club will be an also run .
Jordan wears Daniel Levy blinkers. After 23 years and 1 trophy it's obvious to anybody with half a brain where the problem at this club lies, at the very top. 16 managers including some of the best in Europe, come on.

The gap from the prem to the championship is certainly bigger, but for the most, the gap from the top of the championship to the bottom really isn't that big either.
Ange talks about no ceiling, they’ve barely got off the floor this season never mind hit a ceiling.
Yeah, the 4-0 win at City - the first time the champions had lost there for 53 games - was an on the floor result. Just disgraceful
This is what Spurs have been like for years and years. Its who they are mate 😂
😄
Tottenham got lucky with that red card vs utd too. They are very inconsistent team
Look at the Spurs team in the eighties almost walked the ball into the goal
. Simon and Martin and l are definitely on the same page.
Yawn 🥱
Boos for Premier league draw is just ludicrous.
Am I missing something, last week spurs got their lead and then sat back, everyone behind ball and countered , I remember laughing during game because I thought about the so called all out new style of football Ange supposedly play
Well said 👏
Excuses he's got no answers. No approach to make these players better
Ange The Penguin
I aggree with Simon. The problem is that Ange is arrogant.
Love from South Africa
Ange isn’t arrogant. People like you are naive
Sir Lordship Jordanite = Top LAD Proper Clobber 💯 Facts
😂 💩
To dare is to do😂😂😂
I think it is good to stick to your way of playing but sometimes you have to adapt the way you play against certain teams.
Absolutely fed up of playing the ball out defensive all the time
then you should have enjoyed this game against fulham
perhaps watch the games and you will realise that's not true
Then go support Plymouth you fool
I wish you had the tactical nous to understand the purpose
It is in the managers and coaches interests to complicate the terminology and understanding of the game because it helps justify their massive wages. The players are the game, not them.
Martin talks way more sense than Simon does.
It's simple, we have a first 11 that can beat any team. Once we get a few injuries we are exposed. We need a strong 23 man squad to win a trophy.
Another another meltdown please just let Ange manage it’s mental gymnasium 😂😂😂😂, about 8-9 teams in the league are inconsistent it shows by the 3-4 points gap between teams in 3rd -8th. Simon waffling.
It's who they are mate
Lmfao. It's Spursy ffs.. 😂😂
We have 10 injuries that would have definitely played on the weekend in one war or another
Both in agreement, yea , they do know what they’re talking about ! Cmon you Spurs
Pundits try to make football sound like rocket science. How many different ways can there be to play football. You basically kick the ball in their net more times than they do to you. It’s not that complex.
Lots of injuries and they are a young team learning consistency. It’s no mystery.
I really wish my kids' favorite cartoon Bluey would do an episode with an irritable/charming/frustrated soccer (football) coach.
Common guys, some credit where it's due, it's pretty amazing how they can be so consistently Spursy season after season, I mean how the fook
Ange as got no Plan B. He cannot change while the game plays
It is what is mate.🤣🤣
Spurs fan here and I'm over Ange. He laps it up when people are praising him for his adventurous style but he's precious when he's criticised. I don't agree with him that entertainment is everything. Results are important too and my club isn't so successful it has the luxury of putting entertainment over winning. Grinding out results isn't ugly. It's essential!.
'Will they be the making of him... or his downfall. Jim is like walking clickbait, just speak like a human
I understood what he meant and I'm sure so did everyone. learn some English mate.
@ You need a capital ‘l’ at the start of your second sentence there. Plus, ‘I’m sure so did everyone’ also isn’t proper English, mate.
@@Zombieturtles First, I do not need "I" because you're the only one complaining, so I'm assuming "we" all got it. And that phrase IS proper English too sir.
But we didn't win against Fulham and we WEREN'T ENTERTAINING either! What's Ange talking about?
Ange is a much better Manager than Simon Jordan is a pundit.
Ange is ridiculous - no-one is saying be that way the whole time - everyone wants to play in their style but sometimes the othet team stops that.
Please tell them Simon. Ange is just waffling. He needs to go
You can Argue that Tottenham team that started the game isn’t any better then the Fulham team so a draw isn’t a bad result, also Lukic should have been sent off before he was subbed off for Carney(who scored the equaliser)
We need quality signings asap.end of
Who knew Martin Oneil was box office ???
Consistency will come
So if spirs want to be exiting & scoring loads of goals but drawing with Fulham they're failing at being exiting
i think Ange Postecoglu is the next Arsene Wenger. thats not good if you are liverpool or man cit but for spurs that would be amazing. one or two leagues and positions to win champions league. its bloody frustrating as a spurs fan. i give him 4 years max to win a trophy
Both main cbs both strikers and the main goalkeeper is injured. People are saying city is not the same without Rodri and then slating spurs😂 do they even watch football
As a spurs fan the team seems to drag itself done. It’s as though they take nothing mentally from a win.
Outplayed by Ipswich, Palace, Fulham - who were unlucky on Sunday. Were Spurs entertaining in these games? NO!!!!!
When Tottenham Hotspur win its because of the other team being poor on the day. When Spurs lose or even draw it is apparently a crisis and the manager doesn't know what he's doing.
I mean who was surprised? Man city are open naturally but you will never take a chance when they on top..so playing city wants bravery sometimes
Why do we pay huge amounts of money for players that don’t even play ???
With this average squad why does anyone expect more .Tottenham are a midtable side not even a top 4 side anymore !!!
Rubbish.
This club will never move forward until Levy fs off, it will just be rinse and repeat like it has been for the last 24 years
Spurs don’t have the depth presently to afford all the injuries they have suffered.
Also need a get a happy medium with tactics
Yeah ok so 9 players out of the first team squad is fine and shouldn’t have an impact?
To dare it to do 😂😂
Spurs are back
The rot is from the top, question...would Daniel Levy still have been chairman if he had been in charge of either Arsenal, City, Man utd or Chelsea, certainly not. Changing managers like underwear hasn't worked on the football field, has it. Daniel Levy out💯
They should slap more steaks on the barbie mate.
What's Simons predictions in the next few games? It only works if you tell us BEFORE the game, otherwise it's just total BS
Simon u are so true. Ange is a bullshit artist. I wish u could interview Ange. He never seems to be asked the tough questions
The way this guy talks to people really grates. He acts like he's won a couple of Premier League titles at other clubs.
you dont win trophies or titles when you lose or draw half your games.
Portugal won the European championship drawing every game except the final (5/6 games 83.33%)
@@ddmkthfc8555Tottenham are not portugal. Insult to portugal
@@jacklegros6614 yes, because that’s exactly what I was saying, isn’t it? You absolute moron!
Read the original post , take a few minutes to let it sink in, then read my reply, take a few more minutes to understand, and then you can delete your comment afterwards👍
Simon Jordan talks like a know-all. I wouldn't mind if he managed a successful team and talked from a position of strength.
Tottenham are always building or have injuries. To dare is to do...what? Nothing, year after year
