You are just a bundle of happiness😀! Mira should consider providing referral codes! I’m sure you’ve sold this machine to some of your viewers. 😁❤️
Your videos are GREAT!!! I'm looking into starting a business creating resin epoxy decorated and engraved wood items. Step one is learning as much as I can before deciding what equipment to buy. I'm finding your videos SOOO useful. Thank you so much!!
Yes you definitely made a great choice. That machine has all the features built in, and with the added fan and and air you added it rocks!
Thank you for this video. I am really serious about the Mira 9. It’s how I found you which has helped me even more to decide on getting her plus your tutorials are badass. I can not WAIT to make “all the things”😂😂😂😂. Thank you Emily for great videos.
Thank you very much for all the videos that you post with all the instructions ! You are just amazing ! I just discovered your channel and now I have something better to watch than netflix. 👍😍
😆 I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying my channel! Thank you for commenting. ❤️
Thanks for the videos. You are very enthusiastic and certainly well thought out with regards to your instructional approach in demonstrating your various projects and tinkering. My questions is a little different as I contemplate which laser to purchase. I am comparing the Thunder Nova 24 to the Aeon Mira 7. I printed out their respective spec sheets and they are very similar. Both have great reviews and seem to have good Facebook Groups. Starting prices are similar but with the following differences best as I can determine. Thunder comes with a 60 W tube and 5000 Chiller and the Aeon comes with a 40 W tube and 3000 Chiller. The upgrade to a 60 W tube on the Aeon costs another $1000 which changes the the price point by that much. Everything else is similar with regards to support, features, and quality. I saw your video on adding an air compressor which is something I was thinking about so that sort of speaks against the "everything internal" aspect that is nice with regards to space but if one is going to add an air compressor externally anyway, then that issue is not as important. The other debatable thing is if something is built in and it fails does that make it harder to fix and get up and running again? Any way, it is obvious that you have a good head on your shoulders and have thought about your purchase quite extensively which is why I am asking your thoughts on the comparison. Surprisingly, with all the comparative information out there with regards to lasers, there is very little on this direct comparison. Any thought swould be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year.
Thank you Ricky, and Happy New Year to you too! I used to teach high school history and getting to teach again even if it's in a different way, has been my favorite part about this channel. Now I get to both teach and allow my creative side to flourish so it's been a lot of fun! I'll do my best to answer your questions. Adding an air compressor isn't necessary but it is a nice option to have for any laser. If you choose to add one, you would have to account for both the chiller and the compressor taking up space with another brand whereas with the Mira, you'd just be accommodating space for a compressor. I have my whole operation in a small guest room so less is more for me. There is a rumor going around that parts and replacements on the Mira are not easy to replace. This simply isn't true and probably a bad sales pitch competitors have come up with to try and knock a great machine. Everything is simple to remove and replace. As for the different chillers, I can't really speak to it. I just know that the one that comes with my machine has been sufficient and hasn't been a problem. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out again.
@@ThatMomWithALaser As a teacher of over 40 years I could tell that you were a natural. You have a real gift for instruction. It will serve you well. I wrote to both companies and heard back from Aeon immediately with a personal response and an auto response from Thunder. It does look like a fantastic machine. My only decision is if the extra cost (approx. $1000) is worth it. All the best and wishing you and your family a most Happy New Year.
@@RSWALM1955 40 years, WOW! I didn't last that long hahah We started having children so I decided to stay home and right when it was about time to go back into the classroom, this laser life began and it's been quite the exciting journey. I invested in the 60watt tube and it's been worth it. I never have cutting issues unless it's time to clean my optics. I'm not surprised to hear that Aeon got back to you so quickly. I wish you the best and you find what's best for you and hope to see you around here in the New Year, Aeon or not ;)
This video is were it all started for me. Knew nothing about lasering but had an interest. After researching many different machines and there are a lot, speaking with many sale reps and continuously bin watching your videos I have decided to take that leap and purchase a machine. A couple of questions I would like ask you are, First I don't have a laptop which I'll purchase. Just was wondering what type of laptop you use meaning memory " etc" needed to run the software. Second what extra lenses are needed to do different projects? Thanks again for all your helpful videos and last when my sales rep ask me how did I hear about the Aeon Mira 7. Well of course I told him " That Mom with a Laser". Great job. Thanks Mike
Thank you for all that you do ❤️ I just got my new Mira 7 would you be able to tell me what size pin fits in the honey bed for holding things down? Much appreciated 🙏
Is there any other people that have a Aeon mira 5? You are the only person I can find that has a review on it
Hi Anna! There really weren’t any videos when I got my machine. I was one of the first people to start doing laser tutorials with an Aeon. I’m happy to send you other resources from people I know using them. Shoot me an e-mail at thatmomwithalaser@gmail.com and I’ll send you some resources.
You provide such helpful content about this machine. They should give you referral codes because I am definitely considering a Mira 7 after watching these videos. My only hesitation is the price :/
I wonder if they know me my last name is Aeon and my daughters name is Mira. Being in the market for a lazer has made turn I never would have expected.
All your videos are Awesome! Very detailed explanations.
Thank you! I want the content to be worthy of you guys. Striving daily to get better. Xoxo!
Awesome video! The only thing I don't like is the "DING" you use for each step, it is the one noise that terrifies my dog, so she was going crazy while I listened to this video. 😂
😂😂😂 I’m so sorry! I was new to video editing at the time and limited with sound effect hahaha I’ve come a long way in my newer videos but still have a long way to go. 🙈

Sooooo helpful! Finally some practical advice!!!!
Aww yay! That makes me so happy to hear. ❤️

@@ThatMomWithALaser I seen that one but it was posted after this video so I thought there was a differnt one prior to this video. I binged watched almost all you videos btw 🤣🤣🤣
After I asked that question, RUclips brought me directly to this video. Now I’m looking into this laser. I wonder though when you were ready to make your purchase did you think about Glowforge and what was it that made you go one way or another? Would love to know. If you have a video about that I will go search.
Haha that’s neat! So my girlfriend Mindy bought a glowforge and that’s what piqued my interests in lasers. I went to see it in person and almost bought one. But then I learned about Aeon that was three hours away and when I saw it in person I could tell it was the better fit for me. It’a significantly faster, bigger, and can do cups. Haven’t made a video but I plan to eventually. Hope this helps a little. :)

hi,
Thanks for the great video! I have a glowforge and i have to create SVG files to load to cut and engrave. What language does the Mira7 use?
Have a great day!
Rico
did you get any of the upgrades with your Mira or is it just stock selection w the 40W tube?
does it have a pass through
It does not. Instead it has an access door. ruclips.net/video/YQIc2IKcq0g/видео.html
About the passthrough door, am I missing something or is it impossible to close the lid fully while being in focus?
The lid goes below the focus point, so I always need to keep the door slightly ajar so the sensor sees it as closed but it doesn't touch the piece I'm engraving.
Dear! Congratulations!!! Your work is awesome!!! I'm getting this machine, can you help me please?.. Giving me the information about the laser tube reference and else ... Greating from Medellín! I follow you!

Hello ,,, My son is an entrepreneur his 10 years and he wants a glowforge plus the price is quite high,,, plus he doesn’t have any experience with this type of machine other than Cricut and cameo. He’s been saving for his machine and now he’s ready to buy it. Now my question is , with your experience what type of machine can you recommend for $4.5k ???
How many times do we see Boss owners ask about cleaning and lubricating their rails, etc? I love the Aeon clean pack design. When we buy our next laser, it will also be an Aeon.
Aaron Cherman do they really? I’ve been so spoiled by starting with an Aeon 😆🙈
That Mom with a Laser Yah, so many things we are spoiled with that other machine users complain about. We are pretty happy.
Aaron Cherman how long have you guys had yours?
That Mom with a Laser Just since Christmas.
Hi there! I've been doing quite a bit of research so I can get my first laser cutter. I'm really leaning towards Aeon. Possibly the Mira 7 like yours or the Mira 5. It's been so hard to make up my mind though.
Hey Roger. It's definitely not an easy decision. The 5 is a nice starter laser. I do find thought that people which they would have gone a little bigger if they could have. The 7 was a great start for me. Big enough to give me versatility but not too small to feel limiting. Do what's best for your goals and budget. :) Feel free to message me anytime if you have questions.
Where are you finding your information on Aeon? RUclips really doesn't have that many videos on people reviewing it. Unless I need to change how I'm wording my search?
@@annaknight5 hi! I just replied to your other comment. If you shout me an email I can send you several different resources with more info.
Does it have a camera point registration??
Yes. You can get it with a camera I just don’t have one. :)

What is the largest object you can use in it?
I'm glad I found your video!!!! ...did you bought extra the rotary attachment or it came with? Thanks. !!!
Hi! I did. However, if you are in the US the rotary is currently included as part of a pre-order special!
@@ThatMomWithALaser Si, gracias, ...Im in USA, FL
Questions... besides the base, did u get any of the add ons for the Mira? Did u increase to the 60watt?
This video is so helpful. I recently bought a k40 because I wasn’t sure if I can manage a bigger laser and I’m already annoyed at all the adjustments I’d have to make. How can I go about getting a Mira for my business? They’re so expensive
It’s definitely a higher end machine but I have found it’s worth it for my business. You can contact their sales office via the Aeon affiliate button on my site at www.thatmomwithalaser.co
I’m so happy to hear it was helpful!
Can you cut fabrics with this? Fine, detailed cuts on small pieces?
Yes!
Enjoyed your video on what to buy and checked out this video after. I’m curious how the laser works when you put the odd shaped materials and they’re sticking out.
I'm happy to hear you're enjoying my content. :) I have a video on that here ruclips.net/video/YQIc2IKcq0g/видео.html
One dumb question :) What are the dimensions of the stand (H, D, W). Thank you.
Does it have a pass through?
The Mira models have an access door rather than a passthrough. The Aeon Novas have the passthrough. Here’s a video on how I use the access door. ruclips.net/video/YQIc2IKcq0g/видео.html
Thanks you for your time finding those good things. However i have only one doubt and have not found any answers yet. Does it work with Mac? It would be a pity if i should invest in a pc also. Thanks!
My pleasure! I have an iMac and that’s how Run my machine. ☺️
Hi how much is the Mira 7 right now?
Hey there. In the US, the Mira 7 begins at 7k. They are offering a pre-order special right now that's pretty nice. You can inquire for more details through my affiliate link below. If you found this video helpful, make sure to mention TMWAL in the referral field, or if you decide to DM or call, tell them I sent you. This helps me to continue doing what I love, playing with my laser and bringing you fresh content. :) aeonlaser.us/?ref=mwl
Is there a big difference between this one and the Mira 5?
There is! Cutting space is one of the major differences as the Mira 5 is 11.75x19.75 whereas the Mira 7 is 17.5x19.75. The mira 5 also comes with a 40 watt tube rather than a 60 watt tube which makes it slightly slower than my 7 but it’s still fast in comparison to hobby lasers closer to its size. You can see all the specs on my website by clicking on the Aeon button www.thatmomwithalaser.co. Hope that helps!
@@ThatMomWithALaser thank you so much! ☺️
Does Aeon or Thunder ever run sales?
Not usually but Aeon currently has a pre-order special.
Whew you got me!!!! Thank you!
Lol! My pleasure. Feel free to reach out any time if you have questions.
Can you tell me why did you decide to get the mirror instead of the glow Forge due to the fact that the glow Forge is easier and not as bulky curiosity thanks
Hi JC! I originally learned about lasers thanks to GlowForge! After doing some research, I learned about Aeon Laser which is based in Melbourne, FL. I drove up to their showroom and got to experience a live demonstration. I was blown away and went with their machines instead. Plus, the GF is a hobby laser while the Aeons are industrial ones. They are very different in terms of speed and size. I hope that helps!
Hello, thank you for the video. I am also considering buying this laser for my business. I would like to ask if there will be a problem with the neighbors in the case of smoke from cutting plywood or acrylic. Does the machine have an air filter to remove smoke particles and odors?Thank you
Martin Lipina I vent out of my guest room and haven’t had any complaints in the last 9 months about any odors. You can contact Aeon about their fume extractor that may help.
@@ThatMomWithALaser Thank for answer
What program is used to create the designs?
Do any laser cutters that you know of cut through thin sheet metal, or is a cnc plasma cutter required for that?
Co2 lasers do not cut metal. You’d need a plasma cutter or fiber and those are even more $$$. 😬
How deep can the Mira 7 laser bed go? I would like to engrave a round item that is 12-14" tall at its highest point. I love everything you've shared, but am skeptical about tall items :/ THANK YOU :)
Hey thx a lot for the video. I really think about to buy one for my business but I cant find how much power the mira 7 has. It is 50watt CO2 Laser?
My pleasure! Depends on what country you’re in. Mine is. 60watt
if the bearings are sealed, makes no diff. just more difficiult maintance.
Compare your machine to glow forge which one would would you prefer? Does your machine offer insurance? And software?
Hey there. It’s not really fair to compare my machine to a Glowforge. The Glowforge is a hobby grade laser. It’s much slower and has less capabilities. It’s a great hobby machine but many use it for business and outgrow it quickly. I don’t know if any lasers that offer insurance and yes, LightBurn software is is included with the purchase of an Aeon. I have a video here that will help with explain the differences in lasers in general. ruclips.net/video/Epxs9uR_I28/видео.html
@@ThatMomWithALaser The reason I was asking is I was looking into getting a laser machine something that's good to start doing a little business making little business Engraving on custom wallets glass bottles Is wine glass and even thicker wood or metals. So I was looking at yours wondering if yours does all that? Does the one that you have do they have a payment plan? Financing?? Great video by the way
Does the Mira 5 have a pull down door so that I can fit larger objects like the 7? Is it a pass through slot similar to the Glowforge or do I just have to be able to fit the area I need into the bed of the laser?
Hey Kendral. The Mira 5 has an access door like my Mira 7. It does not have a passthrough slot like the GF however, it's significantly faster. It's one of those moments where you have to decide if you want a passthrough which many people use a handful of times or speed which will be used daily.
Hi there, do you have the GF machine as well? Never heard of Mira, until I saw your page and videos tonight. I'm wanting a laser machine and thot about getting GFPro, but, now, I'm not sure.
I don’t! There are A LOT of options out there. GF just has some very good marketing ☺️. If you’re going to spend that much on a laser then you may want to look at the MIRA5 model. It’s the same price as the pro but significantly faster. Feel free to DM me on my IG @thatmomwithalaser or on my Facebook page by the same name. I’m happy to chat and answer any questions you may have. 😀
I recently purchased a Glow Forge and wish I had I've seen this video first. The software on the Glow Forge is beyond antiquated and slow.
Does it cut deeper or thicker material than GF?
Not sure. I’ve never tried anything thicker than 1/4” but it’s fast, consistent, and reliable 💪🏼
Great Video will be looking at all tonight.... Own a x-carve and looking to move into a Laser Machine and Loved the Great Info you gave about the Machine and Company... Thank you.
Rick Cathey my pleasure! A laser would be a great addition to any shop. They are seriously the ultimate idea creator!
May I ask what it costs?
Of course! A MIRA7 starts at 7k. My affiliate link is above and you can “build your laser” to see prices with add ons. However, many of the add ons are included right now with their pre-order specials.
Can anyone provide their buying experience of the Mira 7? Looking at getting one.
Maybe your stand is just set up backwards?
It’s not but since my video users have flipped theirs and it works! I need to recruit some muscle so I can turn it around too. ☺️
What software do you have to use with the aeon?
Hey there! I use LightBurn software.
@@ThatMomWithALaser Can I ask one more question? Do you do all your own designs is the software? Or do you purchase them somewhere? I know Glowforge has many many to auto pick from in their premium software, which seems great to click and print, but I like the Mira 7 much better as an option!
@@christinetulchin9336 I design my own with procreate and LightBurn and when I’m in a pinch I grab something from Etsy for places like Design Bundles. :)
Can I use this on vinyl?
I’m afraid not. Vynil is not safe to cut with a laser as it releases toxic fumes.
