I have Bermudagrass here in north Texas and my yard has suffered this year due to extreme drought and army worms. What can I do to revitalize my lawn? Any recs on Bermuda seed to use for overseeding would be greatly appreciated!
No ,I’m in the Huntsville AL area, it just depends on the weather, I’ve seeded all the way into December but you don’t want freezing temperatures. The ground in November just turns into mud which makes it easier to overseed
@@nicknova703 I always thought that we needed warmer weather and constant watering in order for the seeds to take. My Bermuda will go dormant soon. Does that mean the new seeds will germinate next season?
@@robrepasi7975 it’s definitely easier in warmer weather, but as long as it’s not consistently freezing you can still get seeds to germinate, I’m overseeding my front yard now, but I’ll probably do my backyard all the way into late November/early December, weather permitting. We’ve had no rain here and I work a swing shift so everything is harder and takes awhile
I just scalped my bermuda. Seeding tmrw. Not a fan of dormant bermuda. Im in California so it never goes full brown, just unhealthy looking. Triple mowed and scarrified with the Sunjoe.
Nusprint annual rye seed was garbage when I laid it down last fall. I have hybrid bermuda sod and was trying to have a green lawn during winter and cover some bare patches This nusprint seed took FOREVER to germinate. I wasn't able to get a preemergent down until December after laying the seed down late September. I had lots of weeds and weed grass thanks to the overseed attempt. Just don't! North Texas btw.
Grass looking great, nice job Doc. 👍
Thanks Doc .
looking great,grass nice job Doc.
I overseed my Bermuda with annual rye every year and have just laid down perennial rye this year. Frankly, the rye looks better than the Bermuda.
100% The biggest reason I went with Bermuda instead of fescue is because I love ryegrass.

Doc finally let me overseed my Bermuda
Doc., What weather app do you use? Jay
What pre/post would you recommend I put down shortly after overseeding my Bermuda with perennial rye?
Doc, can you do a video on watering during the fall / winter ? I’m confused… some say keep watering twice a month during the winter.
Bermuda roots can be 36" deep... therefore when the lawn starts to go dormant I never water. It will be just fine.
New lawn owner here, dumb question, when you say an inch is that for the very bottom of the lawnmower down to the soil?
Hey doc..!! I still have high temps here in South california, 85 to high 90 for the next 4 weeks or more. Should i still fertilize my bermuda.???
Sure light coat
we may be ok til november ! ☀️ lol Dont mind it at all but man we need that rain
Doc, do you spray for weeds before using 10-10-10 or after or, not at all? I want to use a pre-emergent before Thanksgiving. What do ya think? Thanks…
You can and do both the same day if you want.
The bird singing….😊
How To With Doctor Prepper would've been soda-mazing for your new channel name!

Do any of the chickens get left out in the run at night?
Nope... creatures of habit...
All this time I thought they were stupid yardbirds.

It’s actually perfect weather right now in my area, I just wish we had some cloud cover to keep the seed wet
