FYI the whirlpools are super useful in reducing the costs of your potions. They are primarily useful when creating multi-effect potions. They almost NEVER go where you want them to go when you are trying to reach a far-away effect, but can be useful in reaching a second effect on the cheap. A super cheap way to map out where the whirlpools will take you is to use a whirlpool AFTER you've added the effect to the potion, but before finishing it. This will save you tons on reagents. I did the opposite (took a whirlpool hoping it would get me closer to my target), and then had to use a bunch more ingredients to get back to where I was going.
A secondary use for whirlpools is skirting the edge to get just a little more distance. Make sure to pump the bellows slowly to reduce how much you get drawn in.

Blitz, just so you know, potions are usually in the same direction as other similar potions. Some examples of this are Healing and Wild Growth and Fire and Light. Also, the game will not give you a customer asking for an effect if the chapter you’re in or a chapter before it doesn’t have brewing the effect as a quest.
The gems/stones teleport your potion to wherever the little whirl is, This allows you to go through the bones. Rock and Stone!
Quick tip for when you start getting into more expensive potions.
Save your potion recipe before adding the effect to it, change the ? Icon to the effect icon and name it "base potion of X"
This way you can tinker how strong the potion is for different customers, and it helps when you start having to do 3-5 different effects on the potion for alchemy.
Once you get to the outer ring potions, this is an absolute necessity because you will not get above a grade 1 potion without alchemical components.
Also, once you get to making void salt, it will be really hard to find and make the necromancy potion. It is in the south west portion of the inner map, and your potion will have to almost die (10% hp left) to get to the effect.
i save 2 same recipe which the one you said "(Save your potion recipe before adding the effect to it, change the ? Icon to the effect icon and name it "base potion of X)" and the other one with tier 3 just for the quick access since you cant quick brew it and npc mostly wants tier 3 (welp bad side of it is you need 2 magic paper than one. i have many so its not a problem)
all potions you come across, either need 3 of x or they need 5 effects. And since only the last 5 effects remain active, you can save the potion after you get the 3 of x and then move on. If you only need 2 of x, you can just collect the other 3 and the first will disappear. If you need only 1 of x, collect the other 4 and the first and second will disappear.
There is really no need to save the potion before you add the effect, just for the >1% of customers who demand a weaker potion.

For the necro, can't you just use crystals?
@@vortexushallow8790 sure you can. But they are expensive and rare - especially in the early game.
Just so you know: if a person wants a certain ingredient in their potion you can click the continue from here on the potion you need and just drop the ingredient in, no need to stir. Then you just press the finish potion button and theyre happy
Once you get the miner merchant, you can get crystal ingredients. These ingredients teleport, rather than move your bottle (they have a swirl, instead of an x on their path description). You will miss out on research points, but you can cross those "walls of death" to the outside. There are 8 types of crystals - on for each direction - but the diagonal ones will only appear on very high levels.
This video should be 4th on the Potion Craft Playlist, currently is 5th (and the Necromancy video should be 5th).

Hey blitz, the little swirly icon on an ingrediant means it will teleport the potion icon. these are useful for getting past bone walls.

What I like to do when customers ask for a specific ingredient in a potion that doesn’t really help, I just add it at the end and don’t even stir it.
Just so you know blitz, the rocks make you teleport!

Blitz there’s an arrow thing at the top of the ingredients that if you click the different arrows it will give you that specific direction with the different ingredients so you don’t have to scroll or look at all the different things
You can still haggle and get good points. How it decides to give good or bad points is based upon what the customer is gonna use it for. I've haggle nearly all my sales and am good. I got oil as a new base liquid for potion making. (Sort of Spoiler) I am currently in search of the nerco potion looked on most of the map.

Btw, you can only have 5 potion effects. So you can do a strong effect and a medium effect, but not two strong effects.
The navigation star by ingredients help sort the ingredients that move that way
