If the entire difficulty system is being centered around The Pit, it deserves its own themed space in the world. It feels so randomly placed right now just being in a random corner of a market in Cerrigar

If we are going to have a massive power spike in just 1 glyph, then I understand the reasoning why they capped the number of paragon boards. I think they should revisit the existing paragon boards to make them more viable and exciting. Then even if we only have 5 boards to play with, we still need to analyze which board we want to use for our builds.
What will happen to our current Mythical Uber Uniques? Will they revert to 540 or will they be max level 800? Also, will GA's, at 540 item level, no longer be the max roll for an affix?
Good thing someone is commenting on the glyph grind possible issue there. I hope it wont be too grindy to level them. Also this new armor/resistances penalties are something to verify/worry abourlt. No balancement should be made considering the uber uniques. I hope they are not rebalancing, considering people would have a shako and a tyrael to reach the caps. That would be bad for the average player. I was really looking forward the next season and expansio, Now I believe Ill wait. Too many changes are coming
Too be honest Mythic Unique's are very easy to obtain now, any build can kill uber bosses and if you struggle you just do ROTA so instead of running 2 runs solo you get 8 in a group - much more efficient.
@@kylesutherland1261 Yeah, but that creats an issue where you are going to be required to use them. Want to use another hat or armor, you can't because without them you'll never reach the cap. That's bad for build variety and could create a worse situation than the one we see today where if you want to farm T6 7 or 8, you need those items to survive the waves.

Gotta get a little gripe about the new glyph system here... Seems like they've been trying to simplify things, but in the case of this new glyph system it looks like they've taken what was at least a reliable way to level glyphs and replaced it with a more complex chance based system, and with blizzard they really like to make chance based things frustrating. There's already enough frustrations so I don't think this change is a good direction. Look at the tempering system... instead of improving it they just added one charge and it's still repeating things and bricking hard to find 3ga items. That's a huge punch in the gut every time it happens, and now we've gotta have a similar durian with glyphs. I hope they don't go through with that, or they find a better option otherwise this game will feel like a job.
The glyph leveling will be guaranteed if your pushing high enough pit. So, if you have a lvl 30 glyph to get the guaranteed level you need to do pit 30 as an example. The devs explained on the live stream that the chance based system is only so if you want to do lower difficulty content, you can and will get rewards still. It makes it so the lower pit levels don't become useless. I find this great for playing with friends that are weaker too.
@@complex3297 no. you need to do 10 levels higher than the glyph level to get guarantee. So if your glyph is level 55 you need to do pit 65 to get guarantee which according to Rob is the equivalent of doing current pit tier of 130. Most people are not pushing pit that high. Now add 45 more levels to that.
@@sols.2525 while that maybe true I think people will be able to push much higher with the new levels to glyph, the new legendary glyphs and the runes.
I love how everyone is doing so much theory-crafting around the runes. Remembering how much of a grind it was to farm some of those, I am even wondering if I will ever see one of the legendary ones ;-)
We'll have to see how they fixed Pit bosses. I can't really be bothered to actually use skill to beat a boss. If face-tanking or running around in circles doesn't work I am screwed.
nice to know i was beta tester since launch from season 1 to 5. All the gear i grinded to feels like a waste of my time. ahh zhit. Gonna try Space marine 2 and PoE2. I played Diablo 1 the day it came out in December 31st, 1996. D4 is turning into D3. edit - new skills look like zhit.
People who are getting worried about the glyph leveling system being chance based don't understand how this is determined. If we look back to Diablo III when we were trying to upgrade our legendary gems it's essentially the same process except applied to your glyph. So long as you were playing a higher tier version of the pit you are guaranteed to have a level and if you are playing a much higher tier you will get bonus levels so it will actually take only a few runs to get level 15. The fact that they've also made this progressive past level 21 is amazing with the implication of the legendary affix once you reach the halfway leveling point. I'm not really concerned with the glyph leveling process but I am slightly concerned with all of these different tiers of difficulty this has never worked out, the way it is intended, in any video game that I remember... Normal and nightmare in Diablo 2 are essentially useless platforms to get you to the final playing difficulty... That's okay! I'm worried that these several mid-tiers are going to become the new world tier 3.
For me the main problem with chance based on pit level is group play. Solo players could not complete higher pit levels, that groups can clear. So it is not determining actual player power, his ability to clear it, but something else.
I think when we upgrade the glyphs, they can crit on different stats like masterworking. I dont think they said this but from looking at what they did show us, it looks like thats whats happening.
I think maybe cap at 6 additional boards now we have 9 per character. I do see the concern with the glyphs being too crazy with 7 lvl 100 glyphs but oh well that’s fun
I never played the other Diablo games so I don't have any idea if the changes will be good or bad. I'll still play it to see if I like the changes. I'll play PoE 2 also to see which of the two games are more my preference.
Apparently from what I have seen, Ancestral items will be rarer and harder to find, which has me worried because ancestral items are the only items worth chasing but there will be more of a chase to get these items. Getting them will be harder but feel more rewarding. They have guaranteed GAs. Also sacred items have been removed from the game because they were useless.
I wonder when you steal the buff from new mythic helm from someone the duration resets, because you could essentially create a damage rotation, first person does dmg til timer is low, then next person steals and hopefully refreshes timer
It was interesting that they used the phrase "forever items" while raising the level cap which makes my current gear useless in a month when the expansion comes out.
Why is your current gear useless? I assume you mean on eternal realm. There is a level cap increase of 10 levels in the expansion. Current lvl 100 is equal to lvl 50. Then raise the cap by 10 to lvl 60 which would be equal to lvl 110. Your gear is being set at the max item level of a lvl 50 which is all you have earned so far. On top of that its getting max rolls on every affix. You essentially got a buff. Now you do the expansion content and hunt the new gear. If they gave you max item level then you would have essentially be at the end of the new content without having to do a thing.

I wish they had of simply made things level-based, instead of having multiple difficulty levels as you leveled up things got progressively harder and the AI for badguys increased. So long as monsters scale with you and you have access to say the same kind of system like the mind cage which increases monster levels by 10.... Just have that be a constant reward system that we are given through whatever seasonal Journey we are playing... Have them stock multiple times, three times was fun.... Let's see if we can stack them 10 times so that we can get level 200 monsters in the overworld! This would make the hell tide and any overworld event possibly very worthwhile.... Now I understand that the monster levels are going to be turning based on the new increase but I'm just using that as an example.
When monsters scaled to player level everyone complained and the open world was nerfed to the point where it wasn’t worth it to interact with. I agree with you in theory but I think general players don’t understand how good that is for the game and just want to one shot enemies
maybe reaching paragon 300 is ridiculously mutch xp.... so they're not counting on many people to achieve that. with 200 points you easily get most of your damage from 5 boards. In order of that it would be fine if the grind to 300 would take you weeks because as a casual you don't miss out on a lot of damage and as a blaster you have something to do / grind xD Same thing with the Glyphs btw... getting level 46 is important and pretty achievable. after that you only get some additive damage. ^^
@ShinzoX90 maybe. but you can't possible know that ^^ just saying that the last 50 points or so are not very impactfull so they could extend the leveling to be a real grind ^^ (like lvl 100 in D2 or PoE) It's account wide anyway

And ya can't even use the ones you got now on eternal because max item power will be 500ish and max item power is 800 so you will hv to regrind your mythics
You can overstack armor that you can still have 1000 after the difficulty malus. It's the same with resistance right now. Max resistance is 70 but you have to get more than that because it's reduced by 50
bro, they've had teams of people working on these changes probably since season 1. you don't think they have just one team doing each season right before it happens, do you? they've had most of this stuff story-boarded out even before they released D4, I'm sure.

Season 6 rework everything so nobody knows wtf they are doing, huge stat squish add some items Season 7 add some damage and buffs Season 8 add some damage and buffs and rework some skills so nobody knows wtf they're doing again. Most people are hypocrtical. Example. We say we want more difficulty, but most want to achieve the pinnacle of end game. How many will. Those that say the games to easy, want status distinction. They want a challenge, but in truth we all want to achieve that end game. In the end, most want to be slightly op, to feel op early and lose it? I dont know, but i know torment difficulties is more distraction. If there isnt a compensation for playing at that level, then whats the point. Like im talking mythics and triple GAs dropping on the regular from the open world. I guess what I'm trying to get across is being maxed out, having great, if not perfect end game gear, and you're taking forever to top a pinnacle boss, what's the point? What's the compensation, where do I go from there?
They're just slowly going back towards D3 systems that work since all the half bake "new" ideas they tried to force on ppl didn't pan out. It's not like they have an IP already that they can improve upon...probably didn't want to due to pride/ego/stupidity. Basically just waiting years for them to figure out what worked in D2/D3 and bring them to D4 while we have to put up with filler season like 1/3/5
As a console player, yeah I know dirty scumbag.... Can they add a system to help with picking up items. I can't point and click on what I want to pick up directly, instead have to rely on hovering over it.
There is a feature in POE that solves this problem perfectly, and I wish Blizzard added it to the game. You just move the right stick and select the item you want.
LMAO yeah I was laughing when I saw that, basically 75% of all the extra added boxes it gives you at final radius increase has blank board space in them, how useful.
But they need to change the way the pit itself works, its boring af, random dg, with random mobs, and random tank boss that takes 5min to kill. Besides, no story, just a obelisk that showed up in a small city, and teleports you to a random location with a timer.
My gut feeling is that T4 is going to be routinely accessible for the average blaster, not just your top end blaster. If not, then it's a miss. I think even your hobbyists should make it into T4 by the end of the season.
I think you misunderstood what he's saying about the pit. He's saying that if it's too hard, they'll add more levels to make it easier to progress the pit to level your glyphs. Otherwise you'll hit a wall and can't level further.
this is end game stuff not “everyone” will hit even level 60 character. the glyph alone will be hard af to level to 50 because it’s suppose to be hard because it’s end game stuff

Its always 1 1/2 dungeons, always takes the same time. Thats like doing one of the nightmare dungeons over and over. I love to slay demons and dont thonk about it, but those pits are the no brainer of the no brainers.
that difficulty system with lvl 60 power creep is not excactly new, I enjoyed d3 too but this is d4, how in the banana every "good" changes they made are directly from d3, I don't want diablo 3.5, I already have d3

How about making D4 fun to play (for everyone,not just streamers) rather than keep playing with boring spreadsheets and translate them to a mess? 7 years of development, 1 and half year beta testing on us paying guinea pigs, and Blizzard still don’t know what D4 is: first they developed this amazing open world that would change ARPG forever, now they tell us all there is is Pits (pretty much)

You are bound to run Pits for glyphs now, you have to complete determined Pits tiers to move through difficulties now rather than capstone dungeons, all is determined by the highest Pit level you completed… Everything else is left hanging for you to run whenever you are bored of Pits. You have no idea whether I play the game or not, which I do for hours/day and have done since the original Diablo… But perhaps you yourself should read rather than just watch a bunch of videos
Im okay with most the changes but pits absolutely suck to run ...they are rather boring. I dont quite understand how centering the game around it will make them more enjoyable?

I am not impressed with these changes, and reverting D4 into D3. It's taken them a year to make the game good, so their track record is sh!t in my opinion. Very disappointing.

What are the statistics of how long Torment 3 is occupied compared to the other 3?
You have to remember that there are many that are playing their first Diablo game. Can’t wait for the Expansion!

I’m kind of concerned about the scaling difficulty of the enemies since they’re removing the mlvl. Hope it adds challenge to gameplay, we need that

Putting high level monsters in nightmare does nothing but ruin the fun for people who don’t blast for hours a day

Will higher world tiers give you better rewards ?
You say we are going to be much more powerful...but how is that possible when we have to focus on armor and resists especially in T4?

If the max is 1000 and the debuff is 1000 then you net 0 armour and guaranteed max glyphs are locked behind pit 130!
You can overstack armor that you can still have 1000 after the difficulty malus. It's the same with resistance right now. Max resistance is 70 but you have to get more than that because it's reduced by 50

bro, they've had teams of people working on these changes probably since season 1. you don't think they have just one team doing each season right before it happens, do you? they've had most of this stuff story-boarded out even before they released D4, I'm sure.

Season 6 rework everything so nobody knows wtf they are doing, huge stat squish add some items

Season 8 add some damage and buffs and rework some skills so nobody knows wtf they're doing again. Add some items
Season 9 add some damage and buffs and make the previous added items easier to acquire.
Season 10 huge nerf

Most people are hypocrtical. Example. We say we want more difficulty, but most want to achieve the pinnacle of end game. How many will. Those that say the games to easy, want status distinction. They want a challenge, but in truth we all want to achieve that end game. In the end, most want to be slightly op, to feel op early and lose it? I dont know, but i know torment difficulties is more distraction. If there isnt a compensation for playing at that level, then whats the point. Like im talking mythics and triple GAs dropping on the regular from the open world.
I guess what I'm trying to get across is being maxed out, having great, if not perfect end game gear, and you're taking forever to top a pinnacle boss, what's the point? What's the compensation, where do I go from there?
The compensation is higher chance of better loot. Did you even listen to campfire ?
if they add leaderboards they should make a SSF game mode 1st, otherwise ur completing with ppl who buy gold with real money to get the best stuff

They're just slowly going back towards D3 systems that work since all the half bake "new" ideas they tried to force on ppl didn't pan out. It's not like they have an IP already that they can improve upon...probably didn't want to due to pride/ego/stupidity. Basically just waiting years for them to figure out what worked in D2/D3 and bring them to D4 while we have to put up with filler season like 1/3/5

As a console player, yeah I know dirty scumbag.... Can they add a system to help with picking up items. I can't point and click on what I want to pick up directly, instead have to rely on hovering over it.

There is a feature in POE that solves this problem perfectly, and I wish Blizzard added it to the game. You just move the right stick and select the item you want.

My gut feeling is that T4 is going to be routinely accessible for the average blaster, not just your top end blaster. If not, then it's a miss. I think even your hobbyists should make it into T4 by the end of the season.

I think you misunderstood what he's saying about the pit. He's saying that if it's too hard, they'll add more levels to make it easier to progress the pit to level your glyphs. Otherwise you'll hit a wall and can't level further.
so we wont get maxing out our glyphs any time soon :D

Its always 1 1/2 dungeons, always takes the same time. Thats like doing one of the nightmare dungeons over and over. I love to slay demons and dont thonk about it, but those pits are the no brainer of the no brainers.

How about making D4 fun to play (for everyone,not just streamers) rather than keep playing with boring spreadsheets and translate them to a mess? 7 years of development, 1 and half year beta testing on us paying guinea pigs, and Blizzard still don’t know what D4 is: first they developed this amazing open world that would change ARPG forever, now they tell us all there is is Pits (pretty much)

You are bound to run Pits for glyphs now, you have to complete determined Pits tiers to move through difficulties now rather than capstone dungeons, all is determined by the highest Pit level you completed… Everything else is left hanging for you to run whenever you are bored of Pits.
You have no idea whether I play the game or not, which I do for hours/day and have done since the original Diablo… But perhaps you yourself should read rather than just watch a bunch of videos
