    Great overview of the tentacle Sync, I'm thinking about picking some of these up this year and your video has helped.

    Nice video! Thanks for the information. These devices do look interesting. Especially since that Track E lapel recorder was announced. The new Zoom F2 looks nice as well and lower cost than the Tentacle Track E, but I'm not sure what it can sync with. Now if I can figure out how to justify spending $1200 on a full kit of this stuff, lol.

    Absolutely outstanding. This is the most thorough and ez to understand vid I've seen on this. I'd be curious if you have any new thoughts on this since the 3 yrs when you made this recording.

    If I have a tentacle connected to each of my recording devices over a multiple day shoot, do I have the freedom to turn all my recording devices on and off to conserve battery when not shooting and not effect the time code? Or do I have to re-sync the timecode on each recording device every time im going to turn on a camera and start recording?

    Thank you for this comprehensive video on the subject. It's one of the best I've seen to date. I'm trying to figure out how to manage audio better when videoing everything, especially fishing with three audio sources and sometimes up to three cameras. I really needed this for one of my most watched videos in October as the edit took longer than a week for a 5 hour day of fishing because the audio was recorded all day long with my Sennheisers EW100 from 20 years ago into a Zoom H6. The three cameras that began recording at various times throughout the day couldn't get good audio because of wind. It was legit a nightmare. Do you think I could plug this into my Zoom H6 into another input and then be able to sync the wireless mics or any audio I put into that along with my GoPros and other cameras? I see you have it in the F6, but my H6 is obviously not that level and does nothing with timecode. I'm thinking I'd have to have the Tentacle Sync E as another input on the H6, but that wouldn't necessarily align other tracks recorded in the H6 and allow sync. It's really hard to wrap my head around a workflow to make that happen. Again...just have my wireless go to the H6 and then Tentacles on all other cameras, too... what do you think? Thanks for your thoughts and help. Thanks for the video!

    Hello, for a long shoot like a wedding is it better to not shut off the tentacle sync(s)? Or is it recommended to leave on all day to have the same time code? Thank you - just confused about if you shut them off and turn back on does it change the time code for editing process.

    I'm trying to use an on camera Deity D3 mic and use tentacle sync E. can I use an audio splitter or USB port for sync? I thought about trying the Deity D4 Duo which has an output port to see if that would work but I wanted to use a mic with a grain control. any help is MUCH APPRECIATED!

    Probably a dumb question: why do you use amore than just one unit to generate, and one for jamming? Are the extra ones for cameras that fo not have timecode support, or for alternative settings options, or what?

    I am new to video production (I am a stills photographer who wants to do BTS for my shoots), and I want to use timecode for my Sony's. Great demo. Thanks!

      Why does a photographer need timecode? You do stills, not video.

    Great video, I have the zoom f6 as well and was wondering if you can Jam sync from one unit to the zoom recorder and then use the same unit to stay connected on my non time code camera like the 5d mark 3. Because you know they're kind of pricey

      Though I do not have am F6, I have the SD Mix Pre 3 ii and they are fairly similar. I believe on the F6, you have time code output which allows you to send TC signals to the Tentacles.

    Can you use these to sync two different frame rates? Or at least get closer to it?

    • @antoineholliday7631
      @antoineholliday7631 3 года назад

      No, that's not how timecode works. If two things are at two different frame rates, then that defeats the purpose of keeping them synced them.

    Appreciate this video. These are especially helpful for the Sony mirrorless cams with no native TC that can be sync'd. Sub#725! ;-)

  • @dtlastraightahead2133
    @dtlastraightahead2133 3 года назад

    Tentacle told me the sync is limited to 20 minutes beyond that sync may not be accurate what's your take on that?

    • @kazisaud
      @kazisaud 3 года назад

      Not true. I have sync multiple cam with multiple brand from canon C300 MIi, Canon C200, C100 - MIi, and Nikon Z7 with Sound Device MixPre-6 and Tentacle Sync were connected for hours (at least straight 6 hours to my audio and couple hours at a time to my C300 and the files sync seamlessly.
      So there’s no such issues

    How do you monitor audio n real-time while recording? What if there is mic rubbing? Voice pop? Etc. until there is real-time Bluetooth monitoring, these are worthless. If this was your primary audio and something goes wrong, you are hosed!!

    • @danielkaranja7978
      @danielkaranja7978 3 года назад

      A not sure I see the problem you are inferring. In my case, I record audio both to the camera for scratch and then to an audio recorder like the Zoom F6. I can certainly monitor audio on either the zoom or the camera
