About Married with Children:
The less-than-lovable Bundys are a radical departure from the saccharine-sweet TV families popular since the days of Father Knows Best. With offbeat humor and unflinching honesty, Married... paints a more realistic picture of middle-class existence, warts and all. Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) is a shoe salesman who is fond of frequently reliving his doubtful 15 seconds of fame on the football field. Al is terrified of the all-too-frequent amorous advances of his ditsy wife Peggy (Katey Sagal), who spends most of Al's wages at the salon and the mall. They have two teenage kids: stunning but superficial party animal Kelly (Christina Applegate) and egocentric Bud (David Faustino). Married for 16 semi-blissful years, Peggy and Al have found that the secret to a happy marriage is to accept one another's idiosyncrasies.

One of the best returns in sitcom history. When this episode was aired I was watching it with my family. We all got crazy when Al opened the door and there he was. Good times
It was very much anticipated.
And before internet and stupid social media would've spoiled it weeks in advance
Would've also loved it if Luke Ventura returned for one more episode.
@@JS2000HS I remember seeing the preview of the episode prior to it airing the 1st time so I knew he would return. I still have the original recording of that one. It was great seeing David Garrison back. He got a huuuuuge pop the next time he returned in the car wash episode.
@@paulsteel9127 Yeah. The most we got was seeing him in that issue of Shoe News, but Al hated him at that point for some reason. Meanwhile he went from hating Puggy Weaver in the Peggy Turns 300 episode where he bowled against him to liking him when he tried to win the Puggy Weaver award years later after Puggy died somehow.
The world needs Married with Children and Al Bundy now more than ever.
Nope they'd ruin the show
Considering how is the times now... They will fail... And turn a good memory into a nightmare
@@josemiguelmelquiadesortiz1010 all the crybabies lining up outside of the studio, whining how offended they are by this or that episode…it would be quite entertaining, aside from being nauseating
Back then people tried to get it cancelled and it was a no go 🤣 went on for 11 seasons i think 🤔
But true, would never make it today
@@andyduke82 right. Good show
The way Al sets Steve up to "surprise" Marcy is absolutely hilarious.
"We're counting on it!" LOL
The audience gasping when Steve took off his hat was pure magic.
Only for those of limited intellect
You could actually hear someone recognize Steve before the reveal.
Don’t know why but Steve makes me think of Dennis Deyoung of Styx. His return was like Dennis return in 1996.
He was fighting a smirk.
Pre-recorded audience.
I loved how the audience gave that applause. We missed Steve.
Ironically the audience started the applause tradition the episode right AFTER Steve's final episode as a cast regular.

Jefferson was great but never really filled Steve’s shoes.
Yeah Steve wasn't so bad. Not sure why they got rid of him. Jefferson was okay in the beginning, but they stretched that joke on too long.
LMFAO! This show was pure genius, "Don't shout just shut the door" Al proceeds to slam the door in his face
He did say to shut the door, his fault for not being more specific around the Bundys.
@@alexisdominey6487 Its like he wants 2 things.
Dees nuts😂😂😂😂🎉🎉
The episodes where Steve came back were always gold. Solid gold.
He obviously needed money after walking away from a great cash cow.
Gold Jerry Gold
If only Steve made more guest spots
I love the ovation Steve always got when he returned after leaving. - I think they did an awesome job replacing him with Jefferson by making the character fill Steve's spot while at the same time not stepping on Steve's character; so we always got a kick whenever he came back. Good stuff!
He got the biggest ovation at the car wash.
One's a worthless man with a good job and the others a worthless user
I liked both.
@@cocoaorange1I agree, Steve and Jefferson were great.
Steve, Jefferson, and Griff were the best sidekicks lol
“Hey…where’d the little guy come from? Oops! It’s Marcie!”🤣🤣🤣👍
Best show ever. Always loved when he returned once a season. The pirate episode was funny
He returned once this season, once the next, and twice in season 9. He didn't return each season.
"I never considered that $50 a loan Steve" 😂
Alright calm down Polumbo…
😂😂
The joyful anticipation they have when Steve is leaving, anticipating Chaos and Destruction…… 😂😂😂
The most Bundy thing ever.
The casting for this show was absolutely brilliant, directors doing their job well, to remember a character and cheer for his return like when Steve came back, it felt like a relative returned, like your favorite uncle came back. Everybody in this show was perfect.
I still watch the entire series every 2 years or so. I watched back in the 90's as a teenager and Al is still my hero to this day!
I feel the same sir
Me too. Polish tv reruns it almost as often as Friends.
I watched it as well. I've been binge watching it on Peacock recently.
A time when it was ok to be a man.
4 touchdowns!
if any show deserves a reunion, it's this one!
unfortunately not in todays climate, Al made fun of over weight women, body positivity thing is going on
There was a reunion for the 7 main castmembers. I consider that to be the 260th, final episode of the show.
They...they already got one...
@@teddybeer6206 why does this sound like a reference to Al's "I want a balloon" joke?😂
They couldn’t stomach it today
I love seeing Kelly smile.
Christina Applegate was and is a lovely lady
"Well, I was going to ask what's new, but obviously you've all gone to college since I've left town."
😂😂😂😂😂 hilarious line, lol
Seeing Steve return made me happy.
Marcy takes off her robe.
"I'M BLIND!"
Steve opens his shirt.
"NOW I'M BLIND TOO!"
I always loved it when Steve returned - always out of the blue and unexpected!
@CoopyKat...my favorite is where he returns as Rubio the Cruel pirate in Pegs dream.
@@Vod-Kaknockers LOLL yes I remember that one, that was hilarious!
@@Vod-Kaknockers i was just thinking abt that episode lol
Another one I liked is when Al saw Steve at the gas station and Steve's limo was being serviced or washed. Steve had Al thinking that he had made it big and successful but it turned out that Steve was the limo driver for someone else.
Definitely gave the show's run a nice spark!
FUCKING LAUGHED how Marcy screamed when she first saw Steve!
Steve was always one of my favorites!!!
One of my favorite episodes ever. I remember crying of laughter when Marcy took off her clothes and Al said “My Eyes!!!!!” LMAO
It was then I realized Marcy was quite tappable
That was a different episode.
Peg was funnier when Steve showed off his scrawny chest.

I grew up with this show, now I’m 40 years old and still love it. In germany it was like the funniest sitcom for a very long time. What’s funny is that the show is called „Eine schrecklich nette Familie“ here what means a horrible nice family 🤣

The writing was so good on that show.
no limits. unlike a ton now
That's because the network let them run loose without any rules on what they should say. I highly doubt there's a network right now who would give them the green light on their jokes....the only one who might would be Netflix....and even then, at what extend would they agree to let Al Bundy do fat jokes or blonde women jokes?
Love this show! Still makes me laugh! Rather watch old sitcoms than anything on TV today

This is what we need, a sense of humor
I remember this ep. I was shocked to see him again
Kelly facing the wrong way is the perfect detail.
😂😂😂😂Dees nuts Dees nuts
Saw an interview the guy who played Steve. He said he knew the show was gonna be a hit during the second season. He said he was walking down a NYC street and a delivery man hung halfway out of his truck and yelled "HEY STEVE!!"
I remember that interview. It’s from the “Married With Children” reunion back in 2003. The delivery man who shouted “Steve” worked for UPS.
And he left it to do a stupid show with Jane Curtain and Stephen Collins that was cancelled after one season

It would be a horrible mess if they were to. Wolkism have killed comedy.
The actress who played Marcy wrote like 80% of the jokes, including the jokes Al made towards Marcy. That's just comedic ICONIC.
