I've always wondered why we couldn't just get along anyways. As much as I don't agree with conservatives on specific opinions, I have always understood the need to have conservatives in our country. With conservatives us liberals would go too far left. But at the same same time, without us liberals willing to call out tyranny when we see it, conservatives can take thing a little too far to the right. Our forefathers wanted a balance. Hell we weren't supposed to have parties set up. Most of our forefathers were independent. They were either for federalism or against federalism. We were never supposed to go too far to either side. Sadly, we don't share realities. Here in Texas, in an effort to maybe stop an illegal or two from voting,we have to wait multiple months to renew our drivers licenses. Fact is, many illegals have social security numbers they nabbed from a swap meet. Meaning they pay taxes. I've even seen illegals paying child support for kids that belonged to the SSN they were using. However, the penalties for voting illegally are quite harsh. I don't know of a single example of Mexicans voting. I know it's anecdotal, but I work with several Mexicans that are here legally and refuse to get citizenship. They've lived in this country for the majority of their lives, work, pay taxes, have families, but don't consider the US their home. They know they're one bad piece of legislation away from having their work visas rejected, but they have no interest in voting.
Remember, this is the same guy that said, "Yes, please insult my wife and father, because I will just stand here and take it like a REAL man." LMAO

In the UK we have an Independent Electoral Commission. It organises every election - & maintains the electoral register, constituencies (by population), organises election centres, counts ballots, etc etc.
No political party is involved at any level. It is completely independent.
Have to admit, when I first moved to the US, I really didn't believe some of the stuff I learned initially.
Republicans don’t want this because they wouldn’t be able to claim “irregularities” and blame the “far left” (i.e. they won’t be able to cheat).
Canada has the same thing with a federal election commission for federal elections and provincial election commissions that handle provincial and local elections.
Same in Australia. Everybody trusts elections and we don't have any of this BS. There's an awful lot to be said for the stability of the Westminster parliamentary system.

Voter fraud is such a non-issue. It happens on such a rare basis, that it's negligible. It's punishable for up to five years in some jurisdictions. Most people would agree that it's not worth risking five years in prison to commit voter fraud.
Also, the reports have shown that the few instances of voter fraud that existed in the most recent election have been done by republican voters.

BTC keeps exposing the broken system and bad actors so we can fix it. He's a great independent journalist and imo does much more to reform from without than he could from within. There are politicians who can do good but they need to get elected and it all starts at the local level.

Ted Cruz continues to defy science for being able to sit up without a spine.
I live in NV and during the pandemic we did mail in ballots (I was already signed up, but several people tried to make a big deal about it, I think it was the right call, we had a hard time getting poll workers who felt safe in person, we were still unclear on many issues with the spread, etc.). Anyway if people didn’t feel comfortable mailing them, we had drop off points, and the ballots had tracking so we were alerted when our ballot was received. They dug up this one lady who was claiming someone voted for her, she’s on the news making a stink, so they pulled the ballot, is this your signature? She says she’s blind, so they have someone compare her signature, it matched, she claims it’s forged, they ask her who she meant to vote for, that was who was on the ballot. The election committee determines no fraud. It came out later that she had been found because someone was searching for claims of fraud, it looks like she had help filling out her ballot and then because people kept telling her there was fraud, she just believed them.
