I would argue gears of war eday was the most loved in the showcase people were literally crying including me when I saw it. Wont deny I love me some doom I cant wait for this new doom but as soon as we saw gears it was a 10/10 showcase!

it was less mediocre then other shows, but when they show you slightly above mediocrity with 2 or 3 games now people get unreasonably excited because of how bad they made everything else.

It’s not frame rate. It’s the art style. They’re using stop motion animation. A legendary example of stop motion is how the nightmare before Christmas looks.

Doom 2016's trailer using At Doom's Gate ( ruclips.net/video/SgSrpnW0EmU/видео.html ) is what set the standard high for teaser/trailer music. The Dark Ages track felt appropriate but also uninspired in comparison. I'm sure overall the soundtrack will be good all things considered.

I'm gonna be sore about it for a while because A) they made banger games, B) no HFR2, C) I think it's strategically boneheaded to close your only Japanese Studio that makes critically acclaimed AA games while saying you want a foothold in Japan and you need more smaller scale titles. I'm not selling my Xbox or anything so dramatic but it still feels boneheaded and shortsighted.

After cold war I'm hopeful that the campaign will be solid. They did a great job with actually innovating in singleplayer, which is something the black ops games hadn't done since bo2.

I mean I don't think that a majority of the games are exclusive and they're still doing the all in bet on gamepass so most of the studios are prob gonna get shut down next year, so I wouldn't say they're back... but it was a good show!
@@darcidious99 only 13 multiplats with Playstation. All of them I think go to PC, but if will show up on Playstation is the criteria then it's mostly (17 out of 30) Xbox exclusives.
Keep in mind like 75% of the showings people are interested in from this showcase are the direct result of Microsoft just buying out the competition very recently. XGS with their 20+ studios, previous to Bethesda( Doom and Indiana Jones) and Activision(CoD Behemoth, Diablo, WoW), were doing nothing and after years there are like 4 AA looking games from those XGS studios in this showcase people might be interested in .

That just means that I'd rather save for a PC that can play/emulate these games better than buy your consoles, I'm trying to be sold on why I should buy an Xbox and the only thing that would make me do so is gamepass.

Some fun stats about the 2024 showcase. This was the 2nd time they've showed State of Decay 3, South of Midnight and Flintlock. This was the 3rd appearance for Fable, Avowed and STALKER 2.

Don’t be fooled by the CoD’s promises, most of what they market for their game should’ve been in the game anyway, and trust me, if MW 2019 was able to introduce a game killing SBMM system in its launch despite all of what it promised, then we’ve got to remain skeptical.

Nah, that frame rate was too low. Especially for an action game where you control the character and have to make decisions based on what you are seeing, sounds like a bad idea to me. Movie is one thing, game is another.

Ending the reveals on E-Day definetly left a fuzzy feeling in everyone. I've never played through any of the Gears of War games but i fucking will. That shit looked so good.
The first game has an insanely unique and emotional vibe. It was made for co-op though

Only thing that worries me is that with essentially all of the first party games even BO6 being out on Gamepass, the profitability of the studios will diminish. Though cross platform releases like doom and cod could ease this a bit, I’m interested in seeing how well they do financially.

It's not the framerate, it's a stylistic choice similar to the Spiderverse movies.
Movies were great, althought I needed few minutes to adjust and enjoy this "choppy" animation. But this in interactive video game? This is just headache inducing and will be hard to control and timing

Always been a Playstation guy but the 360 holds a special place in my heart because that was my first forray into Xbox and the only time I got a Christmas present a month before Christmas. This showcase is the first time since the 360 that I've been excited about Xbox.

I’m with Act Man on the potential of the Card Game FPS shooter thing, if played right and totally randomized it could be a really fun totally unbalanced absolutely chaotic shooter.
Once they Shower Gears Of war: E-Day I screamed like a little kid when I first saw the trailer for Gears 2 & 3. That reveal alone just blew my mind.
Xbox has GamesPass, all that matters in 2024.

I think South of Midnight's low framerate seems to be an attempt to replicate the Miles Morales Spiderman Animation style but something about it just seems off.

Being in Australia, the xbox showcase livestream was happening at 3 am (luckily for a public holiday and I didn't have to work till 10am) so I got up and watched it, waiting, hoping for one game to make it's appearence, a game teased in 2022, promised release in sometime 2024 (was told this in late 2024) no news since that February.
A game that was solely part of my childhood.
40-45 minutes into the stream, there it was Age of Mythology: Retold, coming out 4th September 2024 (LET"S GOOO).
Feel the excitement, pre-order 2 days later.
Still excited, watched other streams to see their reaction... most give it a pass or don't even acknowedge it.
Others (including their chats) mistake it for CIv (despite news of civ happening weeks prior).
Remember Act man, go to his channel, find his full length stream, jump to the end of flintlock.
