When auto tune, pitch shifters and even multi track recorders came out, it made it easier to be a musician. Digital controllers and the sync button made djing easier. Now, everyone is a musician or DJ, and nobody's special
Good to see you are embracing AI and not throwing your toys around like many old f*rts on youtube, I think AI is a great tool, and have used it as the inspiration for many songs, which I have published and performed live, caveat, unless doing electronic music, you will probably need to remix anything done by AI, with real musicians or instruments/singers, but good for developing ideas. The prophets of doom are hating AI right now and wanting every advancement banned, heard the same hate poured onto synths in the early 80's, and every other musical innovation, before and since, the musicians union in the UK, even wanted synths banned, all those guys long gone, the world moves on, they didnt. I've been using Band in a Box for over a decade, which did similar without the AI, these tools are just a progression and will only get better. AI does fail badly at lyric generation, imho, but that will come, there are legal questions over some of the AI lyrics, so I would recommend people stay clear and try and write your own. I'm a performing musician and song writer, its great with Ai, to try lyrics with different genres and styles of singers, without being limited by the talents of people you know, which can be fun, but sometimes gets in the way, if you want to do something, thats not the style of the band you are in, my comfort zone is blues and rock, so when I want to do something else, guys in band didnt have the feel or inclination. With AI like Suno and Udio you can come up with a musical idea record it as normal, and load that in, to give the AI something to use as a starting point, just like I would do with samples or Band in a Box. AI is great for ideas, but is rarely production quality, even with with a cutting job in a DAW, I would recommend finding musicians on the likes of Fiverr to record parts you cant do yourself , so talk that this will kill live musicians is rubbish, imho, streaming is doing that, you might make a couple of K for a million streams on Spotify, nobody is making money in music! Live Gigs dont cover rehearsals, fuel and a few beers.
@@makinganoise6028 Synths are playable instruments, they aren't meant to be a magical formula to the creative process. Digital recordings and most other stuff all have some kind of use, but AI is the bottom line. Music is art. Art is fueled by creativity, if someone can't do something good with their creativity, they probably are really smart people in other areas. A engineer has to learn chemistry and physics. An artist should be or learn to be creative. AI effectively kills it that part.
@brokenemoriot I am a multi instrumentalist, singer and producer, I perform live, but a lot of how music is created in the last 30/40 years is with a computer, it's not people banging instruments, we have been hearing bottom line comments for as long as music has been recorded. Most of the so called live acts these days are nothing more than mine artists, good luck changing the world, but AI is simply another tool.
Marty i just want to say thanks man if it wasn't for your video I would not have known how to play a guitar and me as a beginner you explained stuff so great I know it doesn't have to do something with this video but I know this one is new so you hopefully see this but still rock on man 🎸
Hmm, I love you Marty, and I know money is money, but maybe you could find better sponsors than this. Guitar companies or music equipment maybe. Ai is anti-creativity and will destroy the creative process. Love you man
No it doesn't, I've done more songs that started with AI in past year, than I did in last 10, many were ideas that didnt get recorded due to the cost and effort of doing recordings, most were then remixed from the AI demo, using real musicians, the AI allowed me to explore avenues, that would be difficult to do in a band, heard the same anti tech garbage when synths came out, its not going away, just like amplified music, or synths, digital recording hasnt gone away
listen to Sleeper not a Keeper by Jester's heart, for how a real Blues song can be produced using AI as part of the process, you still need to be able to mix, master, write proper lyrics and edit, but many Producers are using these AI tools now, people dont realise how good they are getting, dont judge by Marty's first go at it, give it 5 years, they will be the norm.
Listen to Wishing Well, by Jester's Heart, this started as an AI song, before being remixed with a real singer, AI is a very useful tool, I can try lyrics and musical idea's very quickly to hear how they might sound, then get the Singer doing the session to use as a base for how I want them to perform the song.
And then in the 2020s... the human mind collapsed.
Oh, the collapse first occurred when Rap-Crap and Slip-Slop took over the radio.

Why do AI generated songs often sound like contemporary christian?
I was thinking the same thing!

Can “AI” write a song?: yes.
Should it write a song?: no.

I am not a big fan of AI songwriting. Not the same as a human writing a song..
