You reacted to a song with him as a feature artist by Casting Crowns, called 'Nobody'. His lyrics are consistently challenging, loving and honest. If I remember his story, he has midwest roots (Illinois) in the USA. He won a songwriting/singing competition a number of years ago, I think it was with a station we listen to still called WBGL out of Champaign, Illinois (BGL - Broadcasting God's Love). Winning the competition launched his career a songwriter and singer. He has many videos, and strong, honest lyrics. He calls those who believe to a deeper, grace and repentance filled walk in life. For those who are yet to invite Christ into their lives, he calls them home to the truth of God's love and forgiveness.
Love this song from first time I heard it. I say "I'm fine" all the time fighting depression. This song really spoke to me.

I first heard him when he did My Jesus with Anne Wilson. That is my favorite version of that song!! I know you have reacted to that song, it could have been that version. I have a couple other songs he has done that I really liked. I'll find the titles abd put them on the community page. He really has a way of getting message across! Mathew West is awesome -- glad you did this one. I've gotten to meet him a couple times and he's very funny, kind and down to earth. The last time I saw him in concert a couple months ago he told about a boy he wrote a song for and it's captured perfectly in the official video of "Walking Miracles" -- I hope you will do that one!!! Also, "Me On Your Mind" would be a great one (esp. if it's the K-LOVE fan awards live performance. And his song "Broken Things" is my favorite so that would be great, too. :)
On a different note, have you reacted to "In Jesus Name" by Katy Nichole? It's a powerful song that recently won worship song of the year. I would recommend the video of her performing it live on the K-LOVE fan awards. BTW, I also have a great live version of it on my channel if you're interested -- as well as a few Matthew West songs. I first heard “In Jesus’ Name” when my sister was in hospital earlier this year. Due to a Covid breakout we couldn’t visit for the first 3 weeks she was there; by the time we were allowed (1 visitor/1 hour/per day) she was in a coma on a ventilator - not Covid-related.
I had the privilege of spending the next 4 Sundays bringing church to her, where I read her scripture, prayed with her and sang her hymns and worship songs - hoping she could hear and would be encouraged by them. This (In Jesus’ Name) was one I played every time as my prayer for her.
Her unexpected illness continued to worsen and the Lord chose to take her home. Missing her dearly but so glad she knew and loved the Lord and no longer needs healing as she is now perfect in His presence.

For young people who are not Christian, you could replace god with parents, because they love you unconditionally But I think a lot of people have misinterpreted the song. It's not about finding God, it's aimed at Christians and how they treat their life as a Christian. Is it about, as he has put it, being a professional Christian, or actually being a Christian, and being the one who is Jesus to others. It's not a song about going to church and praying. Its about understanding that at some point we are all broken, and we all need each other, and we have a part to play in just being someone who takes time to care for those who just need someone to take time to share love, not judge or even preach. No one cares what you know until they know you care.
I believe you reacted to a song that he was featured in (Nobody, by Casting Crowns), but I don't think you have done anything that was just him. He writes beautiful songs for himself and other artists too. Not a bad rabbit hole to go down at all. I also think you would like Jason Gray. Thanks for another great reaction. And yeah, I find that I almost always say, "I'm not fine!" when I know that no one can hear me....
