I mean ninja ain't wrong that sf is slower. Literally watch any punk match where he's against a good player. It's both players crouched having a standoff because the other player is scared of punk hit confirming a single button (a low with a fat cancel window) into 30% into oki.
That's a 15-17 frame cancel window from a single button. Not as easy as you are making it out to be. In MK most often you get 2 hits to confirm into you special with plenty of time. Additionaly, recovery frames are a lot more in Netherealm games, making it easy to wiff punish as well. NK has no idea what the hell is he talking about.
But you are right about the damage being stupid depending on the character (Karin and Luke).
@@maxemus1861 it's not easy but it's doable. I'm speaking mostly from the lens of sf5 to be fair and 6 will likely play much differently but my point stands. Luke players literally *crouch, walk an inch, crouch, walk an inch, crouch, walk, grab* and the other player just sits there and watches because if they take one step back and get clipped with a low it's party time. Opened up once, guess wrong on wakeup, stun combo into death or guess for game, gg. Add the fact that AAs are actually reliable and it leads to slower gameplay it's not rocket science. Ninja played mkx, watch an average ninja mkx round and then go watch a ryu mirror or something. it's night and day difference
@@user-xv6ig2yp3z @_ Luke is not completely unstoppable. There are plenty of counterpicks for him such as cody. Mkx is much worse given that its much harder to check run cancels and conversions (trade in or not) run north of 40 % given enough meter promoting an aggrasive play. In a nut shell it's similar in vein to Idom's Laura where game devolves into mad scarmbles at mid range making the game appear to be faster. But to be honest this is syndrome of terrible design and inadequate player skill/knowlege to check/stop such aggressive play. To be frank Ninja's play looks fast as most of his opponents are not of high level/put in in the time to study the liu match up and mkx having a terrible design. The Netherealm scene has always been few levels lower competitive wise with the exception of Sonic.
@@user-xv6ig2yp3z Sorry if I came across as aggressive. I just hope Netherealm can foster a stronger community and support their scene for longer (more than 2-3 years), so the scene can level up. I just love fgs in general.
