Hey Richard, thanks for this video. What you will recommend for the 50R for documentary work, what will be the usable shutter speed of the two lenses on this body without IBIS?
Thanks for sharing, RIchard ! Have you try the lense GF 30mm F/3.5 ? Any ideas for comparision GF30mm vs. GF 45mm vs. GF 50mm ? THanks and waiting for your opinions.
Great video as usual. But I'm confused about the lack of sharp shots at slow shutter speed. What's the point you're trying to make regarding the lens? Is the problem the lens itself? Which aspect of it? Is it too long for the shutter speed? I don't get it
There’s something in the lens and camera combo that’s making it unstable at Low shutter speed. I can’t put my finger to it, is it the ibis or LM motor.
Thanks for the comprehensive analysis. Strictly from an IQ perspective is there a lot of difference? I’m considering replacing my 50 with for the 45 (i have the GFX50R). Thanks!
@@ZPProductions really strange because my 50mm is bitingly sharp just as or sharper than my 110, which is also bitingly sharp... But thanks for your reply 👍👍
@@ZPProductions Hello! Just picked up the 45 today. You are absolutely right it is as sharp as a knife, and the rendering is absolutely amazing!!!! The 50 is sharp but has a very technical look to it.
That wasn’t the purpose of his video which he clearly explained at the beginning. Besides, he did show photos and, if you want more, you can go to his “review’ videos of each lens.
Greetings from mumbai... Im hobbiest travel-street photographer planning to upgrade to GFX 50 system(used one😅) I mostly shoot handheld with camera on full auto... 😅 My photography consists of 50% day, 30% golden hour & 20% night shoot. Shall i consider 50mm f3.5 or save more for 45mm f2.8..?
The 45mm is not faster than the 50mm. I don’t understand what you’re on about, are you saying the 45mm is better because it’s on the GFX 100? So it’s nothing to do with the lens is it?? Weird.
@@ZPProductions You said it takes more shots to get the shot with the 50 than the 45, but it’s because the 45 is on the GFX100 isn’t it? If so then you’re comparing cameras not lenses.
@@chloescanlon1107 it’s not a faster problem. It’s a lens stability problem. Somehow the lm motor or IS in gfx100 is not working as well together. Now, in some truth it maybe a camera issue with the lens, but considering this is the gfx series, there is only 3 camera you can use on, such stability issue is a systemic problem and as a reviewer, I think it’s right to highlight it in the lens review since no other lens in the gfx series is affected
I’m sorry. I still don’t understand what you’re on about. All I know is that I only have one set up, the cheapest one... the 50R and the 50mm, it’s very fast and I easily can shoot as low as 30th sec hand held.
1/30 shutter is always possible it just depends how many shots I would need to take. The GFX100 has a lot more pixel and requires significantly higher shutter to obtain pixel level sharpness. The 45mm just gives more success chances per shot at a lower shutter speed than the 50mm to me considering I used almost every GFX lens, the 50mm seems to be the only one that suffers from this oddity.
the difference is literally 10cm. 63mm is 50cm minimum distance, 45mm is 45cm and 50mm is 55cm. That's splitting hairs.... And on a GFX100S you can crop in without losing anything, so in that sense it doesn't matter whatsoever.
Okay, you're my go-to for GF lenses now. Perfect breakdown.
Great video, to the point and smart to point out the difference with the 50 and the 100 meg bodies
Thank you
:) of course, for low-light the GF45mm f2.8 is going to the edge. In regular conditions, I would lean toward the GF50mm f3.5.
Sui bro, Great information as always!
Glad you think so!
Congratulation , Very precise and helpful analyses . As always , in your comments , You can Trust .
Many thanks

Hey Richard, thanks for this review. Do you think the stability issue with 50mm is because it's very compact and light?
I don’t think so. The gfx100 is already quite weighty . I think it’s more to do minor shifting somewhere
Nice
... and can you attach a hood to the GF50 or you can't?

The slow shutter speed with the 45mm and ibis of the gfx 100 does produce better result. So I’m sure it is working at 45mm
You should have a lot more subscriptions. I appreciate your experience and views, thanks.
I do hope so too! But I’ll just have fun

There is some but not a whole lot . Alittle sharper wide open is pretty much it. Consider the 45mm is faster, that maybe significant

@@ab-cx6bd it maybe a case on the 50 series. On the 100 you will notice the difference between 110 and the rest. The closest is 250

I am interesting to see more of your final photos with the lens you “REVIEW”.... if i want specs i can read it off B&H site.

I doubt So for now

Hmmmm gfx on full auto and street is going to be hard. But that said either lens is find. I’m more inclined to 45mm for that extra aperture at night

but minimum distance is too long campare to 63 and 45
Yup. But I think this lens was never meant for super close up. Maybe 1/3 body and streets haha.
