    Do you know what T bolt size I need for a prinsu roof rack, that's compatible with the cradle?

    I'm thinking about the Lynx and want to haul on top of car. I plan on adding H-rails and wander how to strap it down. Is there a cradle for the Lynx? Thanks

    I’ve been hoping something like this would come along. Not a fan of sch 40 pipe and trying to attach them securely. I have what I believe is an early, 2001 Tandem Mirage Drive, 14 footer. I have Thule racks on the utility trailer and know without extra lateral support summer damage could occur. Will this offering fit our Hobie, given the age of the hull? Thx.

      Unfortunately we don't manufacture a cradle set for the older tandems like you have. There's some other good options on the market from roof rack brands like Rhino Rack, Thule and Yakima.

    I like it. Not sure it will work with my 2013 PA12 that has a berly pro transducer plate to accommodate the now larger side scan transducers.

      These should fit your 2013, you'll just have to lift a little to clear the transducer when sliding the kayak onto them from the aft cradle.

      @@HobieOfficial That's fantastic!! it's an oldie but a Goody so I'm worried about hull warpidge! It bowed out in one place but I also put A12v100ah battery inside the hall so the warranty is out the window already lol

    And the hobie manual says to store and transport upside down. I guess with these were good to go upright?

    • @HobieOfficial
      @HobieOfficial 2 года назад +1

      These disperse the load enough to allow upright transport and storage, yes.

    What type of cross bar clamps are recommended?

      T-bolt, U-bolt or single heavy bolt and washer all work fine for fastening the cradle set.

    I have 2- PA 14s and 1- PA12. Great boats but don’t waste the money on these cradles. When I spend $300 on 2 pieces of plastic I don’t want “approximate” measurements. When the paperwork says approx. 67” and this guy’s method is reflecting 59.5”, there is a design or instructional problem. Come on Hobie, we expect a little better from the guys that design such an awesome drive system.

    Why is this over $300? Really, Hobie is just one greedy company with gold plated kayaks that’s cost a fortune, I got 2 Hobie kayaks the compass and the Outback and I’ve used it a lot, it’s a shame that I regret purchasing it, too flimsy specially the outback, expensive, accessories and poor costumer service, and all the outbacks and PA pro out there are cracking, 360’s are breaking! For $5k I would expect a perfect kayak, not a flimsy piece of flastic
