@@fosterbuster2840 the overscan is actually meant as raw material, to be zoomed and cropped in post. Open scans are fun, but they look unfinished and I doubt that so many people suddenly happwn to have the exact same taste: let's include the hole(s) and frame lines. Of course it's trendy at the moment, and that's fine. I just happen to like film footage that looks professional and finished. It comes down to personal preference.
@@acutecloudd7970 I know - and everyone should be happy. But it's also trendy and screams: "This is not meant to imitate professional footage!". I'm fine with other people's tastes. It simply is not my personal taste.
There’s a few ways. What I did was requested a ‘framed’ scan from the lab instead of overscan (which includes the sprocket hole etc), or you can just crop an overscan!
@@ogavinbrien I glad to see that you have avoided showing the sprocket hole which always looks ridiculous to me. You never see that when a film is projected.
Beautiful movie!! One question, how can you put this music over the film? Do you buy just RUclips premium and put it after you uploaded it there or how? Thank you heaps 🫶
8mm is in a class of its own. This isn't about media formats, this is about Aesthetics.

Beautiful footage, were you filming at 18fps or less?
I realy like this film :)
Beautiful! Thanks for cropping and framing your footage properly, instead of showing the usual overscan/open scan.
Thank you! I think framed footage just looks gr8

@@truefilm6991 Yeah people are leaving the over scan in on purpose because it's an aesthetic

Красивые кадры, красивые места

Wonderful film, colours came out beautifully! Can I ask which Kodak Vision 3 film you used (200T / 500T /50D)? Thanks so much
Thank you, I appreciate that:) This was all 200T
beautiful.
which lab processed this?
Thanks :) I use Pro8mm
Nice film. How do you go about getting the black bars on the side instead of the super 8 ones with the black square?
