Hi guys - sangria is one of my favorite cocktails, and there's so many variations you can make. Are you team red wine or white wine? Check out the full blog post for a few ideas! Enjoy the long weekend (in the US) and stay safe. :) xo - Lisa
here, im the lover of red wine 🙌
team red 🍷
Team red but I’ve tried your white sangria and loved it! It was certainly a hit at a family dinner. Will be giving this recipe a go as well.
If you loved the white sangria, you'll sure love this one then 😊
Red wine. Will try this. Which is recipe for white one?
I love making a alcohol free sangria, just substituting the wine with some grape and cranberry juice. People are usually a bit skeptical about this version but so far have always ended up loving it! ☺️
Using cranberry juice is the perfect substitution, and so refreshing!
I hate alcohol. In fact I'm allergic to it so your non alcoholic sangria sounds great.
well, it's not sangria then - you've made a juice cocktail
I like smoking weed without the thc too
Thanks for the share, I don’t drink and was just thinking how to substitute the wine❤
Hi! I've read several comments made by Spanish people, I'm Spanish too, and for us adding peaches is a definitely MUST. It is a much more sweat fruit, and will reduce the need of adding any other additional type of sweater to those that do not wish to put sugar in it. And we definitely use a cheaper wine :) It has also become quite popular to do it with Cava (Spanish Champagne) instead of red wine.
PS - I love your recipes. My favorite is the Falafel.
Thanks for sharing! There's definitely many ways to make a sangria, especially in different regions so It's nice hearing how everyone else makes it and the different delicious variations!
My wife and I just returned from Portugal and they also added mint leaves. Thanks for the recipe!
As a Spanish I can say OLE to this. It looks delicious. Usually we put sugar and not maple syrup... a cheaper wine... and a bit less of fruit!
Yes! You can definitely use different ingredients for this recipe. But I always like to add just a smidge more fruit 😊
Yeah.... those Americans... Always Too much 🤦🏼♂️
What kind of sugar works best?
Your pitcher is a show-stopper. It looks amazing with the sangria. I’m getting those. Thanks for the link!! Instead of maple syrup, I use triple-sec (which adds extra alcohol😉). Keep on smiling and stay healthy.
Thanks! Once I saw the pitcher, I had to get it haha 😆 Stay healthy and safe as well. And cheers to the long weekend!
I gave up on the thin necked or fancy ones, cleaning them was a massive pain.
Ended up finally finding a giant ceramic pitcher shaped like a large catering kettle with a decent heavy duty handle (a tall Christmas tree with the tip cut off).
Today is a sunny hot day in Puerto Rico. I literally have all the ingredients needed, I don't know why I didn't thought of it before.
I was looking for this comment. My mother made a jug a few days ago. We are also from PR and we love sangria.
In my country (Spain neighbor's!) we also use a stick of cinnamon and brown sugar. Blueberries and strawberries mixed with white whine is also great 😋
Where's my glass? 😊
I definitely need to try with cinnamon sticks next time 😊
Greetings from sunny South Africa! - the southern Cape which is similar to SoCal and the Med. I am entertaining tomorrow and the forecast is 44C, woke up this morning and SANGRIA, which I haven't made for year, popped into my head! Thanks for so cheerfully presenting your recipe and thank you to the other readers, los Españolos, who have added their comments. Due to a very wet summer across the country this year many fresh fruits are not readily available but I might add nectarines or even sweet melon along with an orange and an apple. I live in a huge wine producing area and this is one way to drink red in the height of summer! 😎🥰 Cheers! / ¡Salud!
I'm from Spain, and i love your channel! I tell you how my family made it.
We don't use brandy or other licor. Only fresh fruit : usually, 2 oranges, 2 peaches , (made it really delicious, 1lemon... red wine(2 lit.) , and soda, or lemon soda.(1 lit.), 2 spoons of brown sugar or other sweetener and 1 spoon cinnamon powder, it make it so tasty. The ice we put directly in the jar where you made the mixture.
greetings!
Thanks for following along to my channel all the way from Spain 😊And thanks so much for sharing how your family makes this recipe. I love the addition of cinnamon in this - definitely something I will need to try next time!
@@Downshiftology Thanks for answer me. I hope enjoy it =)
Efectivamente.
what a great drink for summer!
Ice cold beer coor light
a couple of glasses of this and you'll be
*Barking at Ants*
lmao!
hahaah! 😂
As Spanish I need to say the recipe is very good 👍, well done, I love sangria. Funny thing i’ve started my own channel with Spanish cooking and sangria is one of the videos 😂
Thanks so much Cristina! I'll be sure to take a peek at yours 😊
I thought she said "cozy topless bar." I had to rewind and listen a 2nd time😆
Tapas bar! 😂
Wow, Lisa. I just saw you're over 1M subs. Been here since 400k. Really happy for you! :)
Thanks so much for being a part of this community Billy 😊 This community means the world to me. And I hope you enjoy this delicious sangria recipe!
Looks delicious! I make mine with half wine and half soda. Otherwise, I would be drunk after the first glass 😂😊!
Hahaha! Yes, you can definitely add more seltzer water to this 😊
I add sparkling water only in the glass, to taste, that takes less space in the fridge. I don't add liquor either, it's just good strong Spanish red wine. I add nectarines or peaches and some cinnamon sticks, no sugar, fruits bring the sweetness. That's how I learnt it in Europe and how I like it as it is light and fresh so I can have more! 🙂
@@MataH1 adding cinnamon sticks seems like a great idea! I'll have to try it!
perceneij yes!! No sugar for me either and I will definitely going to add the cinnamon stick!! Cheers! 🍷
Beet The Rush you are like me. I get drunk with one glass of wine, but I love Sangria..!😂
Just ordered the pitcher from Crate and now the opener. Thanks!!!! 🍷
I’m making this for Christmas in London, thank you for this recipe the colour of this cocktail looks beautiful and will look soo elegant on the table 👌
This will be the perfect holiday cocktail to make ❤️
Ingredient
Hi! I discovered your channel some days ago and I love it.
I'm from Spain, just wanted to say we don't usually add any other liquor to the sangria, just some soda. As for the fruit, peaches are great too.
Greetings from Spain.
Thanks for sharing! 😊
I’m a big sangria fan. Thank you for letting me know how to make it!
Hope you enjoy this recipe 😊
Downshiftology I shall.
Amazed by the amount of fruits you use🍊🍋🍊Looks so delicious!
You can never go wrong with adding more fruits to this recipe 😊
I love making sangria with tonic water, red wine, lemon juice and berries
I’am Spanish. Here there isn’t maple syrop, except perhaps on specialiced shops. SANGRÍA is a very comun and popular drink so there is no reason to use a very expensive sirop when we produce sugar (from beedroots, but Spain exports sugar. Maple syrop is and imported product from North America so Expensive not for everyday use) Another point is that sugar macerates the fruit wich is the reason for its use on the drink.
Sangría is red as blood, from there became it’s name. That color become only with RED WINE no other alcohol.
In summer festivities Sangría is a tipical drink. For example, if you go to SanFermines (Pamplona, Navarra, Spain … 6 -14 july).
I‘ve never seeing this drink with apples of any kind.
Here we use citrus, sugar, red wine ... and PEACH normaly canned (ingredients wather, sugar and Peach) Never use ice on a sangría except if you are going to drik inmediatly It wathers the wine and that is to throw away the money and the wine
2:40That Sound 🥰
Sangria is one of my favourite drinks!!
My husband was just asking me to make this. Thanks Lisa!
Hope you both enjoy this recipe 😊
SANGRIA is very awesome.
If anyone is in Playa Del Carmen Mexico, on the Main Street with all the vendors, try the Sangria from a restaurant. It’s beyond fantastic. Also if your local liquor store carries it, try Real Sangria, orange bottle 🍷
Hello!!! I just wanted to say congratulations on 1MILLION subscribers!!! The salmon cakes are a regular in my household as well as the lasagna with squash! I just bought a pitcher to make this lol! Im sure this will be a staple in my house as well! congratulations again on you well deserved 1.03 mil!!!
Thanks so much for your kind words!! 😊
This is tipical from my country!! But i like more Sangria of cava!! Is delicious!! 🤩
Delicious! I've made a few versions of it through the years. As a Hispanic (Cuban) we usually make it for parties and end of year celebrations. Yum, yum.
Moscato sangria sounds amazing!
Here's the recipe! downshiftology.com/recipes/moscato-sangria/
My Sangria
Carmenier wine..
Orange Juice.
Brandys or Ron añejo
Diced asorted seasonals frutas
Served always chill..
0:57 Okay, for safety's sake, if you're going to cut fruit (or anything round) in to half, or quarter, circles, then cut the whole fruit in half first, then place the fruit/vegetable on to that new flat surface and continue cutting from there. That will make it much more stable.
I'm making this...PERIOD!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Yes! Much needed for the long weekend 😂
Omg, I want that jar, its design is so clean and elegant öwö♡
Lol, I'm gonna do this tomorrow, tnksm for your hardwork 🙌🏻
Enjoy the recipe 😊
For sparkling I like to use Sanpellegrino, fruits are already sweet so I won't add any sweetener:)
Pellegrino is a great option for a sparkling water :) And yes! If you find that your fruits are already sweet, you can exclude the sweetener.
Healthy food for beautiful souls 💚
Thank You this saturday Sangria and fire outside❤❤❤
What a perfect combo!
Love that pitcher.
I love Sangria but with the brandy in there it does pack a punch and it is delicious. Never made it myself but I love to drink it when in Spain on holidays
It definitely adds a boost in alcohol 😊And this is a great way to pretend your in Spain right at home!
What a great drinks
All your food and drinks look so pretty! 💙
I do need to increase my fruit intake at the moment, this may be classified as “cheating” and certainly not good while working from home. Though it would make the after work relax a lot more pleasant.
It’s just Not the same on the sofa as on a balcony/beach however.
Yeeeee!!! I love sangria 😍 thank you 😀💖
amazing cocktail for the holidays
The jug looks so fancy
You’re looking very good and healthy. Hope you’re doing well. Going to try this tonight. Thank you!
Thanks Christian! Hope you enjoy the recipe.
Thank you.... Im going to make this for the new year!!!
Cheers I'll drink to that!
I love your bottle. Thank you. Gracias
Super cool‼️😎👍🏽
Could you make the ice from fresh squeezed orange? 🍊
That's a great idea actually! More fruit the better 😊
You’re my inspiration!! Happy new year!
This is such an easy recipe! Thank you!
The juicer! Perfect for a gift basket I’m making. Where could I purchase it? Thanks!

The brandy is optional, but you can always add to it 😊
Downshiftology I made a pitcher today and my hubby loved it, peach wine mango, apple, and oranges!
Great drink for summer
Very very nice instructions
Thank you
Oh my gosh...looks like I'll be getting tipsy at home alone this long weekend!🤣 Seriously though, I'm not normally the type to drink at home alone but I've had to get over that during this time. 🥴😢😂
It's okay, it never hurts to have a glass in the comfort of your own home! I live on my own as well, so I've been doing the same 😆Cheers to the long weekend with this delicious sangria 😊
@@Downshiftology Cheers to all us singles right now...we deserve it!😁 Also, I just realized how I had been signing in here on yt...it is different than what I use on ig. I’m not much of a drinker but omg this looks so refreshing! Will definitely give it a shot!
You can always substitute the wine with cranberry juice 😊
I bet this would be good with burritos y tacos!
I'm so excited to try this with white wine!! I like the sweeter wines in general. Super excited
It'll taste delicious with white wine as well 😊 Can't wait to see how yours turns out!
Letting it sit overnight is the key. It's soo much better the next day

Authentic with maple syrup.
What a drink
Long story Short I'm allergic to wine.... Yet happy to see you and I'm gonna watch anyway
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. You can always substitute the wine with cranberry juice for an alcohol free version that's still so delicious! 😊
Try organic no preservative wine, it makes a difference!
Great!
