- One of the Unofficial 'completed' versions of this song that was floating around on bootlegs for a long time before the official version released, though most of the uploads of it got taken down. I am not sure who made this version, so if anyone knows I'd love to hear it.
I replaced most of John's vocal since they were really poor quality and heavily distorted in the original mix. I also gave the instrumental a bit of a stereo spread since the version I had was mono, and did some mixing trickery to get it to sound better. I also added in some of George's guitar work, to liven up the arrangement a bit more. Source for that: • The Beatles - Now and ...
I can upload the non-remastered version if requested, though the audio quality of the vocals is atrocious.
Edit:
Thanks to SgtWilliamPepper, the original source has been found!
It's from the 2008 album "The Virtual Beatles, With a little Help..." with the overdubs being made by Octavio Cavalli and Max Gonzalez.
virtualbeatles....
I remember seeing this years ago on the internet, IIRC the guys who made this were named The Electric Beatles or something, I remember that their original video was deleted but there were uploads online.
The virtual beatles, from Argentina
Virtual Beatles
This version is NOT the Iamaphoney version, though I am not sure who made this version since it was passed around on bootlegs without credit. If anyone knows I would love to add credit.
The Album is called The Virtual Beatles, With a little Help. It used Demos from George, John and Paul with additional overdubs by Octavio Cavalli and Max Gonzalez.
@@SgtWilliamPepper Thanks! I updated the description with a link to the blogspot where that album can be found.
this was made by people from a cover band from Argentina I think. I remember they made a full album with this and other unreleased John demos.
Check my version as if beatles is band of now 😁

I think this could probably have been what it would have been like if this song would have been on Anthology 3. But then, I could be wrong...
Agree, this is a bit of an insight into what could have been. Jeff Lynne should have been involved in the official release of "Now and Then", and it's a shame it did not happen for Anthology 3. "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love" could not have happened without him, and those original mixes captured it perfectly - the later remixes released on '1+', while they gained some clarity that wasn't available with 1995 technology, overall they were inferior.
I agree, this version is more powerful than the official, it's pity.
I have this version on Anthology 3 expanded edition. Voodoo records.
Awesome!
This is really interesting to hear, thanks for posting it!
Ok. For what it is, its an honorable try. And if the guitar break is really George, it would have been great on the official release, adding a bit of an edge to the arrangement instead of Paul doing George...
it was made by a tribute band, it's not George, the tribute band made a whole album playing on top of John demos.
Surely it is not the Beatles. It's just a fan-created fantasy, with perhaps bits of the original Beatle recording.
it's made by a tribute band, I think it was called "virtual beatles", they made a whole album playing on top of John demos, the instruments are not The Beatles, the tribute band used John's voice but they played the instruments.
You have a downlowad link? You mixed it pretty good!
I love it! Would you be able to post the unremastered version too? Very interested to hear the sound
The original came out on an Anthology 3 Expanded edition on Voodoo records. Doesn't sound as good as this one, Johns voice was washed with too many effects on it. Sounded like he was under water.
@@bobbystereo936 Thank you for the help! Still pretty cool nonetheless
Someone mentioned the proper source of the remix, and you can find the original version at this link:
